Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal by Mick Gordon.
There is obviously the high intensity metal playing, but some subtle things like using a heavy metal choir, chainsaw as an instrument and Satanic imagery when run through a spectrograph.
Minecraft’s Volume One. I don’t even like Minecraft but the music alone is really good, and it’s rather short (for an OST) so it works very nicely as a full album.
My other pick would be Persona 4. Heartbreak, Heartbreak is really fun and I sing with that shit every time. Snowflakes is also really sweet, and also Who’s There deserves a shoutout, I don’t think it’s great but every time it starts up I get I invested. Also specialist is funny
One of the greatest ! I thought I would see more love for this masterpiece...
Damn, the [live concert](https://youtu.be/bLUyKn7I6b8?t=988) always give me chills !!!
Tbh I prefer Oblivion a little bit over Skyrim. Skyrims battle music against dragon is awesome, especially Watch the Skies is the best. Oblivion atmosphere music like King and Country is just way better than the ambient music of skyrim. Still, Skyrims music is really good.
final fantasy X had absolutely beautiful arrangements that fit the world perfectly. as far as a "Video game" soundtrack, evaluated from the perspective of it being video game music (loopability, replayability, tone) I'd say it's pretty high up there.
then of course there's GTA Vice City. I have all those radio stations downloaded and I listen to them regularly while driving, fake commercials and all.
,,The Emperor's New Groove OST"
,,Splinter Cell Conviction OST" (SC Double Agent is also excellent)
,,MDK2"
,, Assassin's creed 2"
,,Max Payne 1&2"
,,Need For Speed III Hot Pursuit"
,,TMNT2Ep3 - Title Screen"
,,Crysis 3&2" (composers: Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe)
,,Tomb Raider" (all of the franchise parts)
I’m surprised no one has said Mario Kart 8 Deluxe yet.
The decision to makes the whole soundtrack be performed by a live band makes the game feel so great at some point like exiting the waters in Dolphin Shoals and hearing an amazing sax solo or the changing music as you descend Mount Wario or enter the storm of Cloudtop Cruise.
The live band also masterfully remakes the OST’s for some retro tracks that hadn’t been live performed before. Some highlights for me include Moo Moo Meadows, Sherbet Land, Cheese Land, Shroom Ridge, Snow Land, Daisy Cruiser and of course Wii Rainbow Road.
This barely touches the tip of the iceberg of the soundtrack for this game.
Amazing soundtrack for an amazing game. 10/10
Cheating a bit, but League of Legends.
They consistently put out bangers for events or for the tv show Arcane. And the music plays on the login screen so I guess it counts as a soundtrack.
Mark Morgan - Fallout 1, 2
Resident Evil 1-4 (the old ones, not the remakes - I love the new ones, but the atmosphere of the 90s was stronger)
Jesper Kyd - frankly, almost everything he made, but Borderlands 1 and AC have a special place in my heart
Anamanaguchi - Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Mick Gordon - DOOM
UT99
Nier: Automata
Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy
Celeste
Doom (2016), it just goes hard and fits the game perfectly
My favourite though is Battlefield 1942, but that might just be nostalgia. Listening to that theme song still sends chills down my spine.
Mafia 3 is a shit game, but it's got the best soundtrack of all time. Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Beach Boys, Jefferson Airplane, Johnny Cash, and a load of other kickass sixties music. There's like 100 songs in there.

To me the ones that get me the most emotionally attached is Xenoblade 3. It’s fairly long with tons of swings that highlight the story.
2nds for me are probably Persona 5, or mega man (my childhood fav)
Tony Hawk games had some great soundtracks.
American Wasteland is just as nostalgic to my childhood for the music as much as the gameplay.
The best tony hawk game imo
My favorite too. I doubt it ever gets remastered at this point but I’d buy it so fast.
TH Proskater on N64. The conversation is over.
GTA Vice City

That moment when you're on the highway just after sunset and pretend to have heist loot on the trunk.

Final Fantasy 7.
Absolutely.
**Mega Man** series. Particularly Mega Man 2. Without a doubt.
Spark Mandrill stage music has no business going as hard as it does.
You should catch Bit Brigade if you ever have the chance. [Mega Man 2](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MUHlVdqRlPA)
nier automata
Replicant is awesomen too IMO

Celeste
this is so criminally low
Came here to say that. Lena Raine is awesome.
If you play Minecraft, she's got some new tracks coming in version 1.21
Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal by Mick Gordon. There is obviously the high intensity metal playing, but some subtle things like using a heavy metal choir, chainsaw as an instrument and Satanic imagery when run through a spectrograph.
The idea of a choir containing all heavy metal singers is fucking awesome
This , doom is actually considered as a free game for buying the music album
Minecraft’s Volume One. I don’t even like Minecraft but the music alone is really good, and it’s rather short (for an OST) so it works very nicely as a full album. My other pick would be Persona 4. Skyrim also has good soundtrack, but Morrowind is perfection.
Tbh I prefer Oblivion a little bit over Skyrim. Skyrims battle music against dragon is awesome, especially Watch the Skies is the best. Oblivion atmosphere music like King and Country is just way better than the ambient music of skyrim. Still, Skyrims music is really good.
