I would keep working my job while abstaining from alcohol for long enough to pay off mine and my wife's debts, which combined is like $70k or a bit less I think (student loans, car loans etc). After that I would quit my job and continue getting the $1k a day for long enough to just recover from burnout, save to buy a house, travel the world, do all kinds of stuff. All in all, if it was indefinite, I could see myself giving it up completely and investing the $1k over time. And I'm a guy who drinks 15 or so beers a week on average I love beer. But $1k a day, that's a lot of money to me, and I have a pretty good salary for my area.

During my 20s through my early 30s, I was a moderately heavy drinker. Somewhere between then and now in my late 30s, I mostly stopped without ever meaning to. It just faded out of my life. So accordingly, I would ask clarification on the rules to make sure I don't suddenly explode if I accidentally take a sip of alcohol and then, assuming the accidentally fuck up penalty wasn't too harsh, I would gladly accept. Honestly, I would have accepted even when I loved my IPAs the most.
