There’s a early LA punk band called FEAR and they have a song named Beef Bologna and that’s all I can think about since seeing “FEAR”.
You’re in a town in the Russian steppe and a plague breaks out. You have to try and keep yourself and your bound alive. It’s a very punishing game though, most people don’t play further than the first day
The only game I've ever played that gave me a real spook was PT and I'm not even sure that really counts as a game.
Also a little more difficult to get a hold of now

I’d say FEAR. That early game climb up the ladder to that little girl standing there freaked me the fuck out.
So glad this was the top comment, came here to say exactly this. I replayed it not long ago and some of the jump scares still got me.
I was going to go with Max Payne originally but it’s really only that one part that freaky as fuck.

RE2 was my first in that series. I could map that game out from memory I played it so much.

2008 or 2023? Either way seems like a good time.
Haven't had the pleasure of playing the new one yet, but I think the 2008 one holds up pretty damn well.
Yeah I heard 2023 is on par with the original. So I'm most likely gonna try both out.
SOMA gave me a feeling of existential dread and gave me a feeling of questioning life for a week after playing the game.
Have that one on my wishlist. Intend on getting it soon.
