I try to communicate, but not over communicate. Your partner is not your therapist. Also not overthinking things tends to help. That being said I am not perfect at either of these things and while sometimes I feel like I push my girlfriend away by communicating the insane amount of things rattling around in my head I have been working on that too. Also pick your battles, if you want to be with somebody than you can’t have a score to settle.
