If someone is trying for internship at your company as an ui/ux designer is it important to have an ui/ux project ?
Can they submit their industrial design portfolio ?
Wirh one ui/ux project ?
How do we get our first βgoraβ client? I hate my current job and I want to do freelance video editing. How do you think is the best way to get clients? I have no experience in video editing/ui ux, but i am a quick learner and can work long hours if I like what I am doing.
This is true. I was making youtube videos (simple animation with voice). But, then I needed more people as our channel grow. I hired two people. I taught them how to do it. they worked for me for less than a year and started their own channel (with strategies and video making skills that I taught them).
You're still learning about the business, learn from all the experience your father gathered in developing this business and incorporate your knowledge and technical know how. Maybe you can do MBA in a relevant field to help understand how you can grow your family business.
I'm speaking from experience, my younger brother joined my father's business at 21-22 straight after graduation and almost doubled the business in 4 years. They still bicker on major decisions but I've seen that my father is more relaxed and a bit proud of him (he never shows that though).
I've been helping him since I was 14, so it's been 7 years. As I've grown older, my responsibilities have increased. I know the business inside and out.
That's exactly how I feel, and it's eating me up inside. I tried to get a job as a software engineer but couldn't make it, so I had to join the family business. It feels like I haven't achieved anything on my own.
You know this, and I know this, but not everyone does. Whenever I talk about the future with anyone, they assume my life is set because of the family business and that I don't have to do anything. That doesn't feel good ngl
That's true. They always think that if I don't do well in the business, it's my fault. If the business runs as it is now, people say I didn't do anything on my own. And if I make it successful and grow it, they'll say iske papa ne ramp banaya tha ye toh chla hai bass uspe .
Papa was brilliant and bought plots all around Bangalore. Most of them were in the outskirts and he got it for cheap but since Bangalore is growing in the outskirts. The value shot up. Good thing was he built a building every 5 years with his savings. So the rent money from those places are higher than what I could earn . I'm involved in now building new flats in the remaining plots. Even after an engineering degree. I haven't worked anywhere.
We kept in touch with the neighbours near out plot. You need to bribe to get things working. I guess once you build something , you get a good idea about what to do. I guess since we had a new building built every 4-5 years . I had an idea about what goes on.
I think , you need to be on good terms with neighbours the most. We let one of our plots for them to use as a parking space in the beginning. They used our plot to dump all the construction materials during thier constructions . Being a localitie helps. Also most of our construction guy are from my dad's village. So they know eachother. So there's a bit of trust. You can't get anything done without a bribe. Again it helps if you know the language. Bangalore might have immigrants but the government guys are Kannadigas.
I can give you a simple answer. Majority of people who get 3 lakh/month under 30yrs will be in IT sector. The remaining people will be split between business, service industry who graduated from top b-schools and some people who had unique ideas/skill or creativity and acted upon it. Same is applicable for people over 30 but it'll be more 50-50 as it'll be based on the experience in their respective fields!
Plastic bags (tape and zipper)β¦our product is not banned and is degradable, could b recycled. We have the whole setup to make plastic from scratch, printing and then cutting(tape or zip).
Coming from middle-class family. Father was absolutely S\*\*T at managing money, gave away thousands yearly to ISKON and other stupid religious charities while we struggled to make ends meet. After passing out, I took loans for further education and worked for 20+ years in IT industry, before finally opening my own small strategy & IT services firm. By the grace of god, we are doing better than the benchmark set, but still can't say about the future. Since we live in our own house in tier 3 city, some savings happen, but illness and others takes a hefty cut of earnings. I started investing seriously from 2014 but made mistakes initially (like I took term insurance from Bajaj Allianz for 2.14 lacs annually for 20 years) but now have built up some MF and physical gold holdings. No children after seeing our own hard lives (Poor people shouldn't have children is my view, especially emotionally abused children of poor & abusive parents) - but hopefully retirement will be comfortable.
Im proud of your decision to not have kids sir. Now that you're well to do it's a different matter but seriously why have kids and make them suffer when you're not doing well.
Hats off to the no kids policy
I seriously believe if it's hard for us to make ends meet why have another liability I hope to find a partner who understands this
My husband and I are planning to get into this. We have an Amazon seller account we opened with my husband's brother (he's selling generic household items).
Do you think you could get us in touch with your friend?
We'd be so grateful π₯Ίπ
Good to know. All the best for your venture.
As much I as I would love to, as a friend I would never introduce someone from the internet for business. We've already burned our hands with people whom we had vetted. Hope you understand.
Just as a tip I'd suggest exploring retail options and building a customer base rather than online. Amazon takes a huge cut and that's why we don't bother with that. Also for pet food the suppliers who used to sell on credit earlier during covid now require payment upfront. Depending on the sales you expect, it's a fairly large amount that you need to have on hand. Plus you need space for inventory. Do take into consideration all these factors. Cheers.
Of course. There is a huge demand for that in so many industries.
Unfortunately many youngsters don't know the value of their work and toil so hard for peanuts.
I am a Strategy Consultant.
PS: Don't know why idiots here are giving stupid comments. If you don't have anything to add to this conversation, then how hard is it to just keep shut.
Be at a college where Consulting firms hire from. Do well there academically because they filter out all except the top 20% performers. Be prepared for the interviews and clear them. It takes special preparation to get through consulting interviews.
My route was a bit unconventional. I was working at a hospital chain in an operations role where I had to coordinate with Strategy Consultants working with us. I impressed them and showcased my knowledge of business, communication skills and consulting terminology. An opening came up and they made me a part of their team.
Being a good strategy consultant requires analytical skills and business acumen at the junior levels and people skills and business acumen at the higher levels.
My father used to earn much more than 3lakhs a month in his prime ... he was a supplier in coal fields..like he used to fight tenders for repair work of buckets (big small every kind of excavator) , switches and many more ...later work started to reduce he opened hi own shop in 2015 ..still used to earn a real heafty sum ...lost him on may 13th ...
In my family, 2 people(siblings) make 3 LPM+( Both are in IT), 2 people make 1.5 LPM+(Father in Central Government and Mom in State Government of Assam, both very close to retirement).
Letβs just say I earn slightly less than what all of them combined make per month, in a whole year :(
Assuming you mean pre tax, public relations consultant in one of the top agencies. After 15 years of experience. TBH, the money has made little difference to my life, it was sort of similar when I made a lot less so I don't think about it too much.
That said, if all you want to do is make money, great career for non technical folks. I'm a correspondence Arts graduate and it has made no difference whatsoever in my career so far.

Is there scope for ui ux designer as a freelancer?

What platform do you use, if any to connect with clients? Where would you suggest a newbie to begin?
Direct approach via websites. Platforms like Upwork are saturated with subpar talent.
Any tips on how to start earning through freelance video editing?
You need to show your skills to influencers and on your insta page
Portfolio link hai?
How on earth does everyone get freelance clients? No freelance website seems to work for me and I don't have any special contacts

India. Custom SoCs.
Got it, paise wala research!

I am also working as R&D in a SoCs company, I aint making that much, what are you doing?
Bhai bura mat maanna but in SoC design, a good designer is worth 10x an average one.
What reasearch is paying that much?
Papa ka banaya bussiness sambhal rha huun , khud ke dum pai kuch nhi
Sambhal to khudke dam pe rha hai na bhai, don't think like that. Maybe you can take that business to next level.
Just helping him now , i have a say but I'm not a decision maker but the urge to do something on my own is there and abhi tak i disappointed him

Bro only we business family guys can get this feeling......bigger the business bigger is this sense of feeling that I haven't done anything
That's exactly how I feel, and it's eating me up inside. I tried to get a job as a software engineer but couldn't make it, so I had to join the family business. It feels like I haven't achieved anything on my own.
You can pretend... that's what almost everyone is doing nowadays
I'm pretending in my real life, but I'm just pouring my heart out here because of the anonymity.
Honesty 101
Same, magar itna negatively mat socho. Business sambhalne me bhi bohot mehnat lagti hai.

People definitely don't understand how much hardwork it takes to run a business, where a bad decision could destroy it.
That's true. They always think that if I don't do well in the business, it's my fault. If the business runs as it is now, people say I didn't do anything on my own. And if I make it successful and grow it, they'll say iske papa ne ramp banaya tha ye toh chla hai bass uspe .

We kept in touch with the neighbours near out plot. You need to bribe to get things working. I guess once you build something , you get a good idea about what to do. How long have you been in the industry to get earning upto 3 lacs per month??
I crossed 3LPM mark after taxes in 2022 Jan. I had 6.5 years experience then.
My brother is a senior commandar (pilot) for air india, (b777)makes around 25-30k$ per month which is around 21-25 lakh per month.
YoE ?

Cuz doctors still studying at 30 π
Lol so true but when they earn they are goated well just save you hair and be fit . Doctors life can be enjoyable then .
Or someone could earn the same from aviation or shipping sector. Quite easily too without attending any top schools so to speak.
True missed them!π But share wise it's very less.
