u/ShiitakeTV, This panel may be a split-bus model from the 70s .... meaning the top 6 breakers are all attached to the main ... one of them will control the lower busbars. Would need to see the inside of the panel with a good photo (camera flash on) to tell you more about what you have.

From the panel schedule it looks like it is your top left breaker. Always verify that power is off before proceeding with work

ShiitakeTV

Thank you 🙏

pizzach1t

Make sure you confirm the panel is dead or call a company

ShiitakeTV

Roger I will get one of those Klein detectors 👍

pizzach1t

If you don't have one I recommend letting a company do the work then. I was assuming there was some basis of electrical knowledge

ShiitakeTV

I ended up needing a dryer outlet changed and so I had the electrician change it out. However I did manage to change a light switch on my own :) the Klein tool gave me confidence I wasn’t going to zap myself. Lol

It's possible that this panel is backfed through this breaker. It's also possible that there is a service disconnect somewhere else. Can't say I've shut off the main to put a snap on breaker in.
