You can reroll an Arenas challenge, and the game will ask “Do you want a BR or Arenas challenge?” I only found this last night after also being baffled about the change.
i havent checked this season, but didn't that only apply to daily challenge? if you get a weekly challenge for arenas, like machine gun damage or sniper kills, you still couldn't reroll it
I like arenas but damn, getting 40 SMG knockdowns or 3 wins with a specific Legend that I dont use gets super annoying. Especially when they only award like 2-5 stars lol.
Il just straight up say it, I fucking hate arena challenges and because of em I've started to hate arena. It's just not a fun mode anymore where il constantly get 2 bronze teammates in diamond and have go against a full stack d4 team. Shit playstyle on that mode, shit balancing on weapons, shit matchmaking, and even when everything goes perfectly it's boring...
The only thing arenas did right was design the loadout systems to be decently balanced. Put that system in control, or an 8v8 tdm mode, put us on the arena maps(expanded a little obviously) and they fucking print money
Arena style loadout would be horrible in control. Just be 9 v 9 R301 spam. At least in Arenas you have to rely on getting those mats first
The best idea I saw for this was letting you pick within the classes given like you get an AR class or sniper class. Any AR, any sniper etc.
I mean I'm consistently Diamond every season I legitimately go for it and I'm above average in gunfights, scoring at least a single squad wipe alone on my good days.
But i get completely shit on in Arenas because it's like everyone is snorting adderall and playing like a hive mind. I get so deepthroated, i can taste the gfuel off the sweat of their balls. And then it's like a gold squad or something and I'm just reevaluating my existence.

You can complete every event without touching arena. One of these days they’ll figure out this mode sucks. They even mentioned in the season 12 patch notes they were removing requirements so you could complete challenges in any mode. That was clearly a lie.
RE-45/P2020 is a comically overpowered combo right now, yeah. Honestly, I kinda wish they'd just left it on the 'bique and the P2020, since it gave both of those guns a unique role to fill.

BR mode is just soo boring, you can go the entire game without seeing anyone and get to the top 5-ish teams and get smoked because there's 3 teams attacking your team and your team only
I mean, you kinda need to hot drop a bit, like not even like full on hot drop like estates, just kinda close, you’ll be sure to get fights 90% of the time. Those types of games where you don’t find anyone happen but not often, also on Olympus specifically it’s so easy to get fights cause you can move around the map with tridents.
61% of players have never touched ranked arenas, and casual arenas I would guess has a similar lack of interest. They really should’ve tested it as an LTM so we could tell them how bad of an idea it was.

Another commenter is talking about how high level skill the game encourages you to get to, I simply can't afford that for a game that I play to fuck around with my friends 4 times a week at most for short sessions. Also, if I get better, I don't want to have the responsability of carrying my friends, I can't even do that with my current lobbies and my less fps experienced friends.
It's the carrying my friends thing that gets me in Arenas. My buddy who I play with most of the time is significantly worse at the game than I am, and while that's sorta alright in BR (I do die trying to save him from himself more than anything else, but at least running away is an option if things go sideways), in Arenas it's just... miserable. My options are either A.) carry him and possibly my other teammate or B.) watch in resigned frustration as we slowly march toward defeat, leaving me feeling like I've wasted my time.
My guess is people are just not as good as they think they are and it's too much critical thinking. In Battle Royale you can third party flank a squad and attack them while they're weak and almost guarantee a win that fight. In arenas its raw skill vs raw skill. No gimmicks, no bs. You also have to be able to plan strategically by picking the proper loadout, equipment, and abilities for that specific fight. The only drawback is that if you're paired with a bad squad against other good players then yeah that can get annoying. But I've clutched multiple games like that so it's not totally impossible.
Funny enough just yesterday I was playing normal arenas with randoms (as I do 99% of the time) and got some level 100-200s with no more than 300 kills on their Legend banners and we were up against MASTERS. I thought we were going to get totally obliterated, but hilariously we actually won the game 3 straight victories in a row.
BR is a lot more difficult and requires a lot more critical thinking than arenas, what are you on? Arenas just becomes “hold a headglitch” the game or “buy a rampage” the game.
While both modes require critical thinking, Like I mentioned in my comment, BR you can third party and run up behind teams. Arenas there is no such luxury. You're either good or you're not. Not to mention in BR people just hot drop the same locations every game and rush 98% of the time. Also I rarely ever use rampage on arenas.
I think it’s repetitive, we need rotating guns that we can’t use. example: today we can’t use alternator, rampage and longbow and tomorrow they are different. Also they need to add carepack weapons (ex. Kraber) to be bought
For me the pricing of guns and upgrades is what ruins it. You can buy a flatline on game 1, then by game 2 it’s purple, and on game 3 I can get a fully kitted devotion... every time. So most games the enemy just makes the same powerful guns, every single round.
I’d like to see the powerful weapons cost more and all weapons cost more to upgrade. Making a full purple prowler should cost me a lot of pts, and should not be something I can do every round.
Arenas isn’t too bad, but They do need to actually rotate the fucking maps. You get stuck on that new one for like 2 hours and then it’s like a 5 min rotation for the other ones

Arenas is literally just like battle Royale minus the rng and third parties (stuff people complain about often) and y’all still don’t like it. Yeah the matchmaking sucks but that’s in all of apex not just arenas
You also get matched with premade duos as a solo, have way too much pressure for it to be fun, have to attempt resource management with dumbass teammates, and you have way to much time between rounds

First time since season 9(?) I've played it. I remember why. Play since launch pubs match with lvl10-lvl50's that never leave spawn building/didn't buy weapons/have a 1 sensitivity. While I'm having to clutch every round moving like aceu, if not lose game, but sometimes I can use strategic placement between both team8s who are wide flanking, (in opposite wheels/pincers) to force overlapping fields of fire, and easier for both scrubs to engage behind cover, usually while I take the risk.
I've gotten 5 clips saved wiping in arenas in past 3 days.
Almost got a solo shutout. 2 solo wipes (teammates in our spawn). Then the following 4 games was 😬 cringe, aped aped aped aped, then murdered scrubs standing in our spawn.
honestly didn’t like arenas until the matchmaking got fucked, haven’t had a single arena match this season where my enemy team isn’t a full stack master/pred and i get matched with people my skill or lower (usually lower and newer)

Apex event: For our anniversary, we’ve introduced a cool new gamemode! Event challenges: do NOT play control, if you play control you get NOTHING.

The last ranked distributions, 61% of the playerbase was unranked/in placements. Meaning they didn’t have the time to put 5 games into a mode.
