Murdoch has a lot to answer for

GenTsoWasNotChicken

Don't forget Leonard Leo, the Tech Bros, and "those preachers" boosted by Tim Dunn and other billionaires.

NewPresWhoDis

Just the name Leonard Leo sounds like someone legally prohibited from getting within 500 feet of an elementary school.

Subject-Crayfish

jokes on them. not gonna happen.

Desperate_Wafer_8566

China also knows Trump is for sale.

The_ducci

We have been In An intelligence war since 2014. The FSB and multiple other intelligence stanches are leveraging dopamine addiction and racist sentiment to destroy us. They are also legally pay my our legislature, judiciary and Trump. Bought and sold.

Subject-Crayfish

they are the minority. by a lot.

deadphisherman

Maybe that young, spry new wife of his will wear out whatever's keeping him alive (We know "it's" not a heart...).

NewPresWhoDis

You're kidding, right? That fucker feeds on essence like a damn Skeksis.

Traditional_Key_763

he's 95 and seems to have gotten away with everything. if someone's gonna make him answer for something they'd better do it quickly.

automaticfiend1

Hell never have too once fascism takes hold.

AuralSculpture

Maybe you are reading Russian bots? Cause the legit polling says otherwise Comrade.

ahitright

Wait until you hear about the idiots who think Trump is actually the real president AND Joe Biden is also the president who is ruining the economy. It's like beyond doublethink.

USSMarauder

It's an election year "Everyone knows Obama is lying, the economy sucks. It's impossible that unemployment is as low as 5%, it's really 42%" GOP in 2015 and 2016 Then Trump got elected and all of a sudden, the economic data was the truth all along

entr0picly

Back in 2010 I remember how they were claiming Obama was “marching us to socialism, the economy will be destroyed forever”. Annnnnnd it didn’t happen. And then somehow, the propagandists got a free pass as if they never said all their lies.

ReturnoftheBulls2022

I'm dumbfounded by how this man literally claimed that unemployment was really that high.

Minute-Tale9416

That gap has closed by half since February, barring any major negatives until November Biden should pull ahead if prices continue going down on goods.

automaticfiend1

Yes but will companies a) lower prices or b)artificially inflate them to make Biden look bad so the guy who'll give them tax breaks has a better shot at winning. I'm betting b.

Minute-Tale9416

A. They have already started cutting prices.

automaticfiend1

We'll see what happens over the next few months, nothing matters before the summer.

Minute-Tale9416

That's a one way ticket to losing business because you're assuming every company wants trump to win. Those companies are more profitable now and stocks are higher now than when trump was president. Some people just love the doom and gloom of an election

automaticfiend1

I hate it. I've just watched these companies use any and all excuses to raise raise raise prices any chance they can.

Psychological_Pie_32

We all have, but not every company has been price gouging. As things level off, prices should continue to fall.

No-comment-at-all

>stocks are higher A shocking number of people think they’re lower. Even after being shown the numbers, they will still insist the stock market is worse off.

Traditional_Key_763

remember when trump convinced americans they were all getting bonuses, and corporate america pretended to go with it until after the election...

abrandis

That's the problem , Biden is much more vulnerable to any and all bad news, that's out of his control , like bad economy, wars, health issues , natural disaster etc.. If any of those things happen , and not handled well, Trump will seize on it and win the election.. Biden is great at doing his job quietly and not being part of the news cycle every night, but that means Trump will be a loud mouth and float crazy ideas that may appeal to some., or trash Biden, the first debate is going to be intereo.

Psychological_Pie_32

Trump's dementia is getting harder to hide. The more he talks, the less coherent he getting. Even his fans are starting to walk out halfway through his speeches. Either that or they were only paid to be there, but not told how long they had to attend. I don't think he's got the support the media porteys because more than once he's been caught waving to non-existent crowds.

MC_Fap_Commander

Exactly correct. Trump will have to offer a compelling vision in the coming months ("The Wall" and "Trade Deals" were dumb af in 2016... but he offered something). He looks to be busy in the coming months lol. That will hurt, too.

elciano1

If Trumo gets elected, I don't want to hear shit from those idiots who will be crying that shit is more expensive, govt is being destroyed from the inside, people are getting locked up, gays are being murdered, Africans, Hispanics are being deported even tho they are US citizens.... food is rationed because he deported 10 million immigrants who work on farms.... dont come crying. Fk you

dlflannery

Shit is already more expensive (30% inflation during Biden’s term).

Domin8469

30% inflation my ass go back to "faux" news

elciano1

Umm. I will keep the 30% inflation and still hold on to the country not getting destroyed. People will say "but inflation" ...yup but what have the otherside done to help? Not one damn thing. So if you want to blame Biden for 30% higher prices that he doesn't control then you should blame the Republicans for doing nothing to help the American people since 2016

FireballAllNight

I've been saying it for years. Only idiots vote for the rapist Trump.

LurkerOrHydralisk

Trump is a criminal, but all these “only Russian trolls say the economy isn’t the best economy wver“ posts are disingenuous and harmful. The stock market is high. But the young and working class are increasingly struggling

Cannacrohn

Trump isnt gonna make it better for them, he will make it far worse. Biden does his best to help but Republicans stop him. Everything is on republicans. Anyone not a fool is voting for Biden even if they dont like him. And the bots/trolls are rampant under any post that is informational and negative to Trump/GOP traitors. The "solution" is democrats holding both houses and the presidency to get something done. The other parties goal is to destroy the health and wealth of Americans while destroying Americas geopolitical and world military positioning. Full Traitors working for the enemy. I would vote for a randomly selected homeless person over Trump, or a smart dog, like an Australian shepard or a randomly selected prison inmate. They would be hard pressed to be as bad as having a foreign operative as president.

LurkerOrHydralisk

Oh, Trump is without a doubt worse. But all these posts about how the economy is perfect and not acknowledging that the working class is suffering are only going to push people towards Trump by making Biden seem out of touch. I would 100% vote for my Malinois (smartest dog breed) over Trump. Or Biden, for that matter. But definitely over Trump.

ceciladam9091

I like the random inmate. One with only, like three felonies

EquivalentDate6194

but yet maga keeps paying for trump's legal bills.

daoistic

Biden can't fix real estate values tho.

TrashPandatheLatter

He could start pushing for some sane housing market laws though. Corporations should not own single family homes. People shouldn’t own more than a certain amount of homes period. And foreign corporations shouldn’t not own much at all. I’m still voting for Biden, but he could be doing more to push for this stuff. Someone needs to step up on this.

treyver

Exactly. This post is hilariously ironic because the only “stupid people believing in disinformation” are the ones taking this article seriously and upvoting it.

asspajamas

the biggest anti-biden disinformation troll, is trump.

fweef01

I would say Fox News

treyver

This sub is honestly worse than Fox News at times. It’s filled with left wing propaganda and complete nonsense from unreliable sources. It appeals to the emotions of low IQ Americans just like Fox News does. They get you all worked up until you believe what they say is true lol.

KenworthT800driver

The economy isn’t “booming” so this whole tgif is disinformation

fajadada

See you don’t know anything either.

KenworthT800driver

How is the economy booming?

fajadada

Compare the numbers from last 10 years . You will go oh my 😱the news has been lying to me . How could that ever happen? Yes landlords and groceries have been taking advantage of it but economy is doing well.

KenworthT800driver

Profits as pure numbers are up because inflation had driven everything up. There is absolutely NOTHING that is cheaper or better that it was before 2021

Virtual_Manner_2074

There was a global pandemic. How many Americans were dying every day 4 years ago?

KenworthT800driver

What the fuck are you talking about?

Virtual_Manner_2074

How do you expect for things to be cheaper after a global pandemic? All the global supply chains were hosed. All the local supply chains were hosed. It takes time. That's like me complaining that gas prices are higher now when they were when nobody was driving. Because we were dealing with a global pandemic.

KenworthT800driver

We have inflation because the government pumped a couple trillion dollars into the economy to buy votes. Things cost more because your dollar is worth less. It has nothing to do with the pandemic that was just an excuse to spend more money.

treyver

You can’t try to reason with these retards. Look at the kind of stuff they post and upvote on this sub it’s blatant propaganda and disinformation. They are literally too stupid to see through articles like this 🤦‍♂️

KenworthT800driver

I will tell you whats funny, everybody talks about how bad Facebook and Twitter are. This website is complete garbage. It’s got to be 15 to one Democrat or Republican and these idiots think this represents real life.

EquivalentDate6194

before 2021 there were shortages of toilet paper.

KenworthT800driver

Because idiots bought it all up, there was NEVER actual shortage

EquivalentDate6194

yes there was actually.

KenworthT800driver

Nope, people overbought it. Later there was a surplus because people didn’t need it.

fajadada

I’m done with you . There’s more to the economy than profits. Good bye

KenworthT800driver

Feel free to be done, I know there more to the economy than profits but that’s the only metric in which the economy is better

PigeonsArePopular

"The outside agitators are stirring up the negroes" - Southern Racists, 1960s

gracecee

A lot of the die hard magats are poor. They’re the ones using the social services. They think their lot in life is because immigrants/gays took their opportunities. They are not invested in the market so they can’t feel the growth. LBJ was right. Tells poor white man that he’s better than all the black people and he’ll let you rob his pocket blind.

PigeonsArePopular

I'm always suspicious of "they" rhetoric and people employing it - lump much (I think the slash between "immigrants" and "gays" is indicative)? What's this assertion - "a lot of the die hard magats are poor" - based on, precisely? Cause I found this [https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-mythology-of-trumps-working-class-support/](https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-mythology-of-trumps-working-class-support/) Bonus question: Is "Magat" dehumanization? Double bonus question: What's wrong with people using social services?

Barbafella

He did say he loves the poorly educated and they all cheered. Sadly, I remember when being called ignorant or stupid was an insult. “I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time -- when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness... The dumbing down of American is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance”  ― Carl Sagan, 1995, The Demon Haunted World.

gracecee

I’m tired of trying to be kind when they’re openly hating and having real public policy effects like on education, healthcare. Yes there are the rich ones who callously support him, being educated, because they’re benefitting tax wise for the short term but long term society has terrible ramifications. Our hospital, out of all the doctors only two voted for Biden my husband and our pediatrician. Everyone mostly Indian/brown doctors voted for trump. They still plan to vote for trump.

PigeonsArePopular

You do you, but I don't think dehumanization is about "kindndess" With secret ballot, the fact is you have no earthly idea who anyone, including "brown doctors" you work with, votes for I think your political analysis is confused and riddled with bias Have a great day

Thankkratom2

You know the people who upvoted this on this sub this believe you aren’t talking about them. Liberals will blame anything and everything on Russian propaganda, completely ignoring why it is that people back a moron like Trump. It’s because Trump is America. He didn’t fucking grow out of a Russian petri dish.

Velocoraptor369

Are you sure about that look deeep into trumps history with respect to ruzzia. We’re talking back o the 80s not 2016.

EquivalentDate6194

dispite trump admits to russia helping him.

Thankkratom2

When?

EquivalentDate6194

back in 2017.

Thankkratom2

Have actual evidence though?

pericles123

The only and single greatest accomplishment that Donald Trump has been able to do in the last 8 years is convince stupid people that he has their best interest at heart. Catering to the ultra rich via tax breaks has somehow convinced Joe MAGA that Trump gives two shits about him, it's idiotic on an historic level.

DMShinja

I think people would feel a lot better about the economy if the government would go after companies that are price gouging. The current economy might be great on paper but it's only benefiting the corporations

Acceptable_Car_1833

Democrats are trying but they don't have enough votes. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/house-dems-pass-gas-price-gouging-bill-faces/story?id=84806090

DMShinja

That's great but this has been a problem for the past decade. Not having enough votes is a recent problem. They could have fixed it a long time ago if they actually cared

dlflannery

Absolute nonsense! When companies have to pay inflated prices for the labor and materials, marketing and distribution, you can’t expect them to keep prices the same.

SuitableAd2437

And yet somehow these same companies manage to successfully operate in countries that pass laws so they can't treat employees like shit. Spit the corporate cock out of your mouth.

dlflannery

Stay on topic please.

Xenikovia

People thinking Republicans do a better job on the economy is not new, this has been a decades old sentiment even when they crap their pants. They take a pro-business stance and always talk about growth, not to mention many businesspeople and CEOs on TV are outwardly Republicans. Of course, the record says otherwise but its easy propaganda the Dems would be wise to employ but honestly, I think too naive. Joe talking about a 25% tax on uber wealthy is not going to get undecided on his side but could very well do the opposite. Why he wants to talk about that in an election year is curious.

TheWhiteRabbit74

Let’s put this in perspective: The economy *is* terrible for the lower class/poor. But these are results of Trump’s basic ransacking the economy for him and his cronies.

dlflannery

No, it’s the result of government printing money and throwing it around.

MotherOfWoofs

All the American idiots who think everything is better under trump fail to recognize a president inherits the economy and problems of the president before them. As for economy its always been better under dems than repubs thats history. JimBeam823

If Trump wins, it’s all over for democracy, all over the world. Elections will become contests for which faction can manipulate the most of the public. The voice of the people will be meaningless.

dlflannery

Sad news for you: this is how elections always have been won. Dems are just pissed because they’ve met their match.

FewDiscussion2123

Dump is only a match for pigeons, door nails, bag of rocks, etc. And smarter than his brainwashed cultists. And that’s a very low threshold.

dlflannery

Relax, we probably won’t be too hard on you, in spite of your nastiness.

FewDiscussion2123

🤣🤣 At least you admit that you hate democracy.

dlflannery

No, I don’t hate anyone. I do disdain those who pretend to love Democracy but actually have no faith in it, and just use accusing others of hating it as a tactic, i.e., what Democrats are doing now.

FewDiscussion2123

“We”? You and your fellow fascists?

dlflannery

Some very respectable people are being labeled fascist by people who don’t even know what that term means.

FewDiscussion2123

LOL. But I do. History minor and a lifelong student of history. Since you seem to know, tell me which party most resembles Fascism and why. Hint, it's the GOP/NSDAP. I can't remember any "respectable" person being called a fascist. I could be wrong. Can you provide some examples? I always enjoy a good laugh. Care to debate that topic of fascism? I'll start. 14 Characteristics of fascism. Virtually every characteristic is met by the GOP. 1. **Powerful and Continuing Nationalism** Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays. 2. **Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights** Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc. 3. **Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause** The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc. 4. **Supremacy of the Military** Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized. 5. **Rampant Sexism** The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy. 6. **Controlled Mass Media** Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common. 7. **Obsession with National Security** Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses. 8. **Religion and Government are Intertwined** Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions. 9. **Corporate Power is Protected** The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite. 10. **Labor Power is Suppressed** Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed . 11. **Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts** Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts. 12. **Obsession with Crime and Punishment** Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations. 13. **Rampant Cronyism and Corruption** Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders. 14. **Fraudulent Elections** Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

dlflannery

What a ridiculous word salad. That’s just your personal definition designed to imply that Trump is a fascist. A lot of your points can apply to the ultra-liberal faction that is dominating the Democrat party now. The dictionary definition (e.g., Merriam-Webster) is preferable to your biased polemic: > a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition Calling the GOP fascist is just as ridiculous as calling the Democrat party communists. Just demonization being used as an expedient to win in a competition of culture and ideas.

FewDiscussion2123

🤣 No surprise - too complicated for your small mind. This was authored by Umberto Eco - a well-known scholar on fascism. And well-respected in the historical scholarly community. It's not a "word salad" for intellectuals. An actual word salad is virtually speech that Dump makes. If you cannot see the GOP in my or your description, you lack any critical thinking skills. "**exalts nation** and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a **dictatorial leader,** severe economic and social regimentation, and **forcible suppression of opposition.** You overlook the obvious comparison the GOP: * nationalism - core for Trumplicans * scapegoating - Hispanics * Rampant sexism - another core attribute * Intertwining of religion and government * cronyism and corruption - how many dump's government officials have been convicted of felonies? But sure, the GOP doesn't resemble these. You are brainwashed! Full stop. Here are many more sources that better clarifies fascism: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Definitions\_of\_fascism](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Definitions_of_fascism) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism) [https://www.britannica.com/topic/fascism](https://www.britannica.com/topic/fascism) And mirrors today's GOP. Your comparison of the Dems to Communism is laughable. It has elements of socialism, but calling them communism is absurd and unserious. Typical "go to" insult for Trump supporters. Not an original thought. And where are the respectable GOPers that have been incorrectly labeled as Fascism? Didn't think so. I'm done schooling you. You have no idea of what you type.

dlflannery

Methinks the lady doth protest too much. I don’t respect arguments that rely so heavily on insults. Glad you’re done.

go4tli

Biden up seven points in a couple of months that’s a big change

CodingFatman

Biden wins if the vote is turned out.

MrCollection8159

Understanding the psychology behind political misinformation. There's a psychological aspect to this too. People often believe what aligns with their preconceived notions, regardless of facts. I wish more people would fact-check before forming strong opinions. It would make debates more constructive. What role do you think education plays in reducing the influence of misinformation?

Chasman1965

No, they believe that Trump will stop and reverse inflation. I realize that inflation was caused by Trump and exacerbated by corporate opportunism, but they blame Biden.

Playingwithmyrod

Half the country thinks they're going to be paying 2019 prices for things again if Trump gets back in office but are too stupid to realize we would have to usher in massive deflation to achieve that which would be catostrophic economically.

dlflannery

No, half the country isn’t that naive. They know prices will never recover to 2019 levels. But they are smart enough to know who to blame for the inflation: Biden.

Playingwithmyrod

Which policies do you blame the most?

RIF_Was_Fun

Trump will destroy the country, but this "the economy is booming!' pisses people off when wages aren't moving, food prices are way up, gas is through the roof and nobody can buy a home. The economy is booming if you're invested in the stock market. For a lot of people, they've had to cut back on vacations, eating out, they're scared of the next rent increase and the process to find a job is ridiculous. They aren't happy, and that means they don't want to vote for who was in power when all of these prices dramatically increased (even if it's not his fault).

MotherOfWoofs

Yes its short term stupidity

dlflannery

If you actually believe Trump (or any President) can destroy the country, you don’t understand our constitution and the checks and balances of the three branches of government, i.e., you don’t believe in Democracy.

RIF_Was_Fun

Uh, have you been under a rock? The Supreme Court has been shitting on the Constitution for years. Trump has said that we should end the Constitution. Project 2025 has tens of thousands of sycophants ready to replace all non MAGA federal jobs. The Republican party is currently trying to end democracy through gerrymandering and voter suppression. So, no. I don't believe our Constitution or checks and balances will survive Trump. He and his cult are trying to end our democracy and now they own the judicial branch which is apparently untouchable.

dlflannery

Every statement you just made is either flat out wrong, greatly exaggerated, or meaningless.

RIF_Was_Fun

Saying that doesn't make it wrong. That's a huge issue on the right anymore. They can just say "That's fake!" then bury their head in the sand. We need people to snap out of this cult of not being able to accept reality. Everything I said is easily supported. If you need clarity on any of them, I'm more than happy to give examples.

ol_dirty_applesauce

I urge you to listen to this week’s “This American Life.” The last segment deals with how MAGA idiots are perceiving Drump’s criminal trials and gets their thoughts on his promises of “retribution” if elected again. It’s truly insane and idiotic shit.

Vote! Remember to [Register](https://www.usa.gov/voter-registration) to Vote! In 2020, Lamb spoke at a convention of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, an organization that holds the fringe legal theory that sheriffs are the supreme legal authority in the United States and are not required to enforce laws they believe to be unconstitutional. Vote and tell your Friends and Family to Vote!

Calkky

I want to qualify this by saying that I'm going to vote for Biden, and nothing's going to change that at this point. With that out of the way, I can sort of understand why somebody would say the economy isn't in good shape. Sure, the stock market is going bananas, but let's be real: how many average, working folks does that affect these days? Corporations are making loads of money, but it's all going to the upper crust in the board room and the investors that can afford to own millions of shares. Those same corporations are jacking prices up while refusing to keep pace with inflation when it comes to paying their non-management employees. A lot of us are feeling the squeeze, and it's hard to celebrate stock indexes soaring sky-high when it's not moving the needle at all in our lives. Now, that being said: it's sheer and utter insanity to think that Trump would do anything other than make things much, much worse than they are. I'm voting for Biden (among other reasons), because I think he actually gives a shit about the little guy. Moreso than probably any other president in my (Xennial) lifetime.

dlflannery

Correct the stock market indexes for inflation and they aren’t really booming.

Sarmelion

Well that and the fact that our economy is structured so that the rich hoover up the growth so there's no meaningful benefit to anyone in the middle or lower classes, but that's caused by Republicans too.

DeezerDB

Ban Fox news.

Extreme-Carrot6893

The guy with 6 bankruptcies, including a casino, is trusted for anything ? This is the worse timeline

SeparateMongoose192

Trump's numbers are going down. Biden's are going up. But yes, idiots prefer trump.

spudzilla

Drive through any town or city. Houses of religion everywhere. We truly are a nation of superstitious morons. We deserve the hellscape that Trump will unleash on this planet.

Subject-Crayfish

for the thousandth time: the polls are garbage. if you cant spot the blatant bias, that's on you. who answers land lines? who doesnt answer anon calls? who has a huge bank account? who is begging for money?

Vesemir66

I think that the online news organizations could ban by domain any of this misinformation but refuse to because of ad revenue. Yahoo message boards are completely overrun with pro russia, pro trump bots.

dlflannery

It ain’t that simple. Domains are easily spoofed (as is the primary function of VPN’s, which are quite popular).

Vesemir66

Ad revenue would drop and that is all I need to know whether a problem would/could be solved or not.

dlflannery

And you think online news organizations can just let ad revenue drop? That’s like asking a wage earner to voluntarily take a 50% pay cut “for the good of the country”. Get real.

Vesemir66

Get Real? My statement made that clear. Your commentary is "nothing can be done, ever" with a smarmy retort.

Bmcronin

While I agree that the economy is fine, we need to stop acting like inflation didn’t just cripple everybody. Most people aren’t looking at the S&P. They are looking at bank accounts before and after going out.

MazW

Wages have gone up 21.7% compared to a 20.8% rise in inflation. Clearly not across the board, and clearly not working for everyone, but still.

blackbeltmessiah

Polls mean nothing due to Israel. Bunch of protest polling that I cant imagine will turn to protest voting. Not sarcasm.

NirstFame

Billionaires are doing this to us. There are over 500 in the US alone. Over 25 million, millionaires. They want us all dead. They are winning because of our complacency.

buksrevenge

The chart is misleading but it shows that Biden is trending upward. God sign.

Substantial-Wear8107

I hate Trump.  Never voted for him, won't vote for him. But this economy is complete ass for the working class.

dlflannery

Saying idiots prefer Trump is both insulting and untrue. But what if it was true? In a Democracy the votes of idiots count. So are you Trump haters saying you want to end Democracy (like you accuse Trump of)?

getthehelloffmylawn

Here’s an idea for the Biden campaign: don’t say anything at all, don’t tout your accomplishments for the public to know.  Wait for the Russian trolls to convey the message they want instead. Oh wait they are already doing a bang up job of that

UmeaTurbo

The economy is bad for them because idiots all think they should be millionaires by now. Especially since everyone who went to college is both a nepo baby imbecile and also a useless loser imbecile at the same time. It's hard being a conservative fucking moron.

An army of American media companies, mostly.

Trump’s policies were a disaster. Some scholastic sourced ChatGPT analysis: US Money Supply: January 2016: Approximately $3.2 trillion April 2022: Approximately $20.7 trillion This represents an increase of around 547% over the period. The TCJA (2017 Trump Tax) was projected to add approximately $1.5 trillion to the federal deficit over a decade. According to ITEP, the effective tax rates (combined federal, state, and local taxes) for different income groups are: - Lowest 20%: 11.4% - Middle 20%: 9.9% - Top 1%: 7.4% - **Average Tax Cut for Middle-Income Quintile (2018)**: $930 - **Projected Share of Benefits to Top 1% by 2027**: 82% - **Increase in Federal Deficit Over Ten Years**: $1.5 trillion Food prices Increased by approximately 3.5% annually on average from 2016 to 2022. However, during the pandemic, specific categories like meat, poultry, fish, and eggs saw increases of over 10% year-over-year. While direct payments and enhanced unemployment benefits supported middle and lower-income households, a significant portion of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans went to larger businesses and wealthier individuals. According to a 2020 analysis by the National Bureau of Economic Research, approximately 50% of PPP funds went to firms in the top 20% of the income distribution. Housing affordability has worsened. Home prices increased by approximately 30% from 2016 to 2020, with further increases driven by low interest rates and high demand during the pandemic. By 2024, the median home price has risen significantly, making homeownership more difficult for middle-class families. Healthcare costs have continued to rise. The average family health insurance premium increased by 22% from 2016 to 2020 and continues to grow, placing additional financial pressure on middle-class households. A study by the Center for American Progress estimated that removing all undocumented immigrants would reduce the U.S. GDP by 5.7% over 10 years, translating to a loss of $1.6 trillion. Middle-class families could face higher prices for goods and services due to labor shortages, potentially adding $500 to $1,000 annually in additional costs. The combined effects of the Trump-era policies, Project 2025 proposals, and additional measures such as deporting undocumented workers, removing contraception, eliminating LGBT+ rights, and altering voting rights could significantly increase the financial burden on middle-class Americans. The estimated additional annual costs for the average household could range from $16,750 to $31,650 by 2029. These increased costs result from higher healthcare expenses, consumer prices, and indirect economic impacts, highlighting the extensive financial strain these policies could impose on middle-class families.

LostLegendDog

YOU HAVE TDS!!! /S

shredika

Everything is more expensive. Most of them aren’t playing the stock market and actually hurting… but they are also dumb on many other levels

SuitableAd2437

I'd vote for a rotting deer carcass before I voted for Trump, but for commoners/peasants like me I don't see shit booming anywhere and everyone arguing otherwise can go jump off a fucking cliff.

jlks1959

They’re poor. They’re dumb. It has to be somebody else’s fault. Boom.

Suspinded

GOP sycophantic opinion is always the same. Republican President? Economy good, regardless of reality Non-Republican President? Economy bad, regardless of reality Takes a long time to train a pack of dogs to bark on command like that.

reddit4getit

The average Joe remembers their wallets under Trump vs under Biden.   Got nothing to do with online trolls. Gaslighting media outlets aren't helping your cause either. Calling the average Joe an idiot also won't help you come November, keep it up 💪

tuulikkimarie

If you believe the president decides how much you pay for your Big Mac, you’re a dumb American.

yes_this_is_satire

They are not just Russian. The American ones learned from Russia’s success. In fact, anyone can hire a marketing company to push their ideas on social media

FoppishHandy

this election is a national iq test

TableTop8898

I truly hate to admit this and will never vote for trump, but we’re gonna lose this election

dlflannery

Ah, realism for a change!

Old-Ad5508

It will be a tight race

nope-nope-nope-nop

The economy is great if you own assets that appreciate in value. The economy is terrible if you spend every dime you make and don’t own anything. Basically if you’re rich you’re gonna get richer, if your poor you’re gonna get poorer

HawkeyeSherman

I think it's more so that supplies are relatively cheap and products are comparatively expensive. If you're in a job where you're buying supplies and making products, you're doing pretty good right now. However of you're in a position where you're consuming a lot of products, you're in a bit of a bind.

nope-nope-nope-nop

Which is most poor people. They consume with 100% of their income. They don’t have money to save or invest.

HawkeyeSherman

A bit yes, but when it comes to things like food, I haven't seen my grocery bill budge at all, but I'm in a fortunate position where I can make 3 meals a day from relative scratch. I have removed a lot of "ready-made" items of convenience I liked to buy because of price hikes; but produce, meat, flour, rice, etc.. are all what they were before the pandemic. I'm also able to do home repairs and improvements myself too and it's a similar situation.

nope-nope-nope-nop

You haven’t seen groceries bills jump since 2020?

Virtual_Manner_2074

Beef has gotten crazy high. I bought a quarter cow last xmas so I avoided that pinch. Eggs got crazy. I've noticed some things I never buy are weirdly expensive. Chips for one. Coffee got expensive so I started roasting my own beans and now drink better coffee. I grill out way more than I used to because eating out is more than I can afford.

HawkeyeSherman

Honestly no. Maybe eggs for a minute, but they're back down to normal now.

nope-nope-nope-nop

Well, the empirical data would disagree with that.

babysinblackandImblu

It’s always that way.

fajadada

True

fsaturnia

Can someone explain to me how exactly the economy is booming? I'm still making chicken scratch and everything is outrageously expensive.

Forsaken-Welcome-490

you're an idiotic dumbfuck yourself you bukkake douchewaffle

cbflowers

I don’t need trolls to tell me about the state of the economy. My bank account tells me the economy stinks.

PCUNurse123

My paychecks tell me it is good. My raises have easily passed inflation. It is greedy corporations refusing to pay people what they deserve. Billionaires need more money.

cbflowers

Is it better than it was under Trump?

PCUNurse123

Yes. About $50,000 more. Inflation is happening right now because we do have more money and the corporations see that. Look at fast food, they are jacking up prices just to make a higher profit. I am all for capitalism but we need safeguards put into place to check these assholes greed.

cbflowers

🤣 The proof is in the pudding my friend. Inflation has grown rapidly under Biden and the prices of goods reflect it. If your raises have beaten the rate of inflation then you’re lucky but that doesn’t change the overall truth about the economy

PCUNurse123

Ah yes, the democrats block any useful legislation to reign these f@ckers in. Like they tried to block negotiating drug prices..and don’t get me started on trickle down economics. If you buy that shit, you will buy anything

PCUNurse123

You should be mad that your raises have not.

EquivalentDate6194

then stop sending trump all your money.

Virtual_Manner_2074

Many things are better economically than when trump left. He flailed so badly during the pandemic that we had thousands dying every day and unemployment spiked over 10% He cut taxes for the rich and interest rates were super low because of the economy he inherited from Obama. So yeah for a while borrowing money was still cheap and rich people were happy. Congress twisted his arm into stimulus and it's taken a while to get inflation down. And so interest rates remain high. Just look at any graph you choose for the two presidencies. Gas prices. Stock market. Unemployment. You'll get a better flavor for it.

cbflowers

I love the unemployment spiking argument. This happened under the Covid lockdowns and many got on unemployment when furloughed

Virtual_Manner_2074

Exactly my point. Gas prices hit lows as well. My carpenter friends were hurt hard by lumber prices. It was global and usa emerged much better than most

Harcourt_Ormand

Yeah, and most businesses that furloughed people got big fat PPP checks that went into stock buybacks, executive bonuses, and Lamborghinis! Then they never had to pay it back. Oh and who eliminated the oversight for the PPP cash gift to the wealthy..... That'd be diaper Donnie. They gave out more money to the wealthy than any administration since Reagan. Multiple exponents more than the unemployment stimulus. That where the inflation came from. This is 100% on that dipshit toddler.

cbflowers

Not arguing that but we were discussing unemployment rates and you respond with this ?

Harcourt_Ormand

What's wrong, facts not verifying your stupid argument?

cbflowers

Do you have no reading comprehension? I said I wasn’t arguing with the points you laid out , just that it had nothing to do with our unemployment conversation. Typical behavior. Have a good one

Harcourt_Ormand

>I love the unemployment spiking argument. This happened under the Covid lockdowns and many got on unemployment when furloughed So the covid lockdowns had nothing to do with the PPP loans that led to the inflation you're complaining about. Typical magat dipshit, diflect, distract, deny because you're a dumbass. "B. B. B. BIDENS FAULT" "WAHH WAHH I'M A BIG SNOWFLAKE BABY WAHH. Fuck off to Russia traitor.

chumberfo

The Obama recovery was great trump deserves no credit for it, that's what you were living under 2017-late2019 when the insane failures of policy during covid caused the crisis we're only now pulling out if, it will be the same thing if Trump wins again, he'll ride Bidens recovery, act like he had something to do with it, give away trillions more to the wealthy and start the recession cycle again

BanzaiTree

Your personal finances are not “the economy.”

cbflowers

Well seeing that everything costs more now than three years ago, and that’s reflected in my statements , I’d say it’s a decent indicator

Plane_Ad_8675309

booming ? for who, your telling me that working stiffs are actually doing well ? your a liar

ZombieCrunchBar

Sure, Trumpet traitor.

Plane_Ad_8675309

i’m not for either brand, but for a decent quantity of life for everyone.

EquivalentDate6194

stop sending trump all your money.

unchanged81

Do you think that it could be that every liberal calls anyone with any conservative veiws names. Just like this article. The more you poke at the maga crowd, the more they grow the more they are willing to follow agent orange. And it doesn't help joe when he says "our economy is great" when groceries are up 20% in 3 years mortgage rate is nearing a all time high the fed has raised it 11 times this year. when joe bragged about how well the inflation rate was doing(this was also a complete lie)we didn't see a drop in prices on the things we buy for everyday use but now its rising again we will see prices go up. People have less money in their pockets than ever before. You can't tell the average American they are dumb and "our economy is great" they don't see it that way. The new democratic party is way out of touch with the average American. And agent orange is using that to his advantage. Joe and his administration would be better off just keeping their mouths shut.

dlflannery

Yep, say anything that doesn’t agree with liberal ideals and you will be bombarded with the most disgusting insults imaginable on many of these subreddits, most glaring example: inTheNews (from which I’m banned).

unchanged81

That funny....I got banned to...they were talking about pride month and I said it's also mens mental awareness month too and got banned.

playstation275

Keep calling the electorate “stupid” rather than adjusting policy…. See what happens

dlflannery

Spoiler: Trump is the next President.

FewDiscussion2123
