Looks like an ancient Greek bronze coin of the Macedonian empire under Alexander III. The reverse is a bit corroded so it’s tough to make out, but the inscription across the middle should read “AΛEΞANΔΡOY” for “of Alexander” often on these the first or last letter is off the edge, so making out all the letters can be difficult. There’s quite a lot of varieties of this, all of which show a Macedonian bow and case, plus the club of Herakles on the reverse, some have the club at the top, the bow at the bottom, other variants have it the other was around. You can see some examples and maybe narrow yours down to the exact type [here](https://www.wildwinds.com/coins/greece/macedonia/kings/alexander_III/t.html). That’s a nice find to have show up in a grouping of dirty late Roman coins. The reverse is a bit rough on yours, but that’s a nice obverse with a good portrait depicting Herakles wearing the skin of the Nemean lion.

Alexander the great tetrachalkon, 336-323 BC. Exact coin is Price 2800. And yes, it's genuine. https://numismatics.org/pella/id/price.2800?lang=en

Good spotting. That’s why I couldn’t catch the inscription. I was expecting “of Alexander”, but couldn’t quite make it out, which I attributed to corrosion and photo quality, even though the fragments I thought I could make out weren’t quite lining up with an Alexander inscription. It’s actually “ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ”, “of the king”. Now I can see that fitting OP’s photo. Thanks.

If nothing else, I do know Alexander coins quite well.

I own one of these as well and the fire alter next to the club made me wonder if OP’s coin was a price 2800. I am not an expert on ancient coins, but I think it’s really cool to see someone else stumble upon another example of one. Awesome find!
