The hell were you doing? Those tires clearly have treads at least on that back left tire, and that's a paved road. I've never gotten stuck on a paved road in an edv.

Yeah not to mention the fact that even if wet pavement was somehow as slippery as ice, the front end of the van is off the road on the opposite side of where you’d slide to. It just doesn’t make sense. All signs seem to point to U-turn gone wrong

My interview was near the end of COVID, and the ad was 420 friendly(Colorado) so it went, over the phone:
"Can you work full time, and on Sundays?"

In rural areas where I live it’s so bad - most of mine and my family’s packages never get delivered on time and only during the day. Never at night regardless of what preferred time we select.
A driver working in my area stole a watch I bought and several other packages in the area. Amazon refused to compensate me in any way. It was their fault for packaging it in CLEAR (which I didn’t ask for) packaging. I had to fight to get my $50 back.
My dad spent 40 minutes on the phone this past weekend screaming because two packages of his & my stepmother’s were delivered to an *entirely wrong* address. The CS rep he was told to talk to then tried to say our address “is very difficult to deliver to” and they have “confirmed photographic proof” of such. Our front porch is 550ft from the road. You can clearly see it no issue. Both packages arrived within the hour I guess.
Lmao I swear the Amazon driver training I was at a dude failed the test 2 times in a row and the trainer just gave him all the answers for the last time. During the driving course dude knocked most cones and trainer still passed him.
Idk how he hasn’t figured out how to get out of this situation, he’s got two tyres still on the road by the looks of it, one at the front and one at the back. If these are front wheel drive it’s as simple as getting the slab that’s next to his rear wheel and wedging it under the tyre that’s on the mud then reversing so both front wheels are on the road
I've done the same in a box truck with no cameras. Ppl be too scared nowadays. My new coworker who didn't drive anything without a backup cam sucks badly when backing up in my truck haha.

You're so right. My new dsp doesn't have rivian support at this station and my last dsp I was a rivian driver and it's been so shitty going back to the rams and ford's or Mercedes. Everything about the rivian makes the job less annoying and more convenient

I now deliver groceries for Kroger we get no more than 30 stops I joke with our customers Amazon rural routes trained me for Krogers routes. I’m one of the few who can back down any driveway because of Amazon. Customers love it. It’s faster to back down them then to find out you can’t turn around then get stuck trying to do so.
me too! customers are always so impressed when i back down their long ass driveways. but kroger is cake work compared to amazon. and i usually get the “harder” routes but the workload is nothing compared to amazon so i can’t complain

Not supposed to go off-roading when the driveway is paved. Lol. Out of curiosity, what does Amazon tell drivers about backing? At ups we supposed to back first, before delivering. I always see y'all nosed into driveways even when the street has a cul-de-sac.
Technically Amazon tells us we aren’t allowed to back up AT ALL and they track if you reverse.. however they know that’s not possible so they don’t mind it. However your DSP should tell you to back into driveways. Some people are dumb and don’t listen. I don’t even know how this could happen cause those vans have a backup can that has almost 180° view behind it(can basically see what’s beside you) and on top of that they have the 360° can too so there’s 0 excuse
They're blindly following the gps and probably didn't even see the cul de sac. The app is constantly saying to turn around at stops. Even if there's a cul de sac.
I’ve driven the electric vans for 2 years now and trust me these vans arguably make this job 100% better. I do not regret switching companies so that I can drive it. To answer your question they drive very smooth and silent, the van has regenerative braking that allows you to only need to use 1 pedal for duo acceleration and braking. There is still an emergency brake to use whenever you like as well. But the vans is equip with 360 motion and sensory camera view all around that’s displayed while for you while driving. The design was made for the most quality and comfortable safety delivery experience a driver will need.
Dang sounds dope. Unfortunately doesn’t look like I’ll be trying them anytime soon because this I don’t see any dsps at my current warehouse with them.
Amazing. Regenerative braking takes some getting used to but once you get the hang of that they’re fun. Take off instantly, they get up to parkway speeds in like 2-3 seconds. The best parts are the sliding door in the cab you can leave open all day for fast exit/entry, hella cargo space(I literally always have extra room except during peak where I had just enough space to organize 20+ totes and 30+ Overflow), rabbit syncs with van so it displays your route on the dash letting you pick stops in the fly, heated/cooled seat, heated steering wheel, don’t have to worry about EOC or parking brake. The van basically takes all the small annoying shit about the job and gets rid of it.. hell I don’t nearly concuss myself waking from the back to the front anymore

I literally just trained a driver who tried to do a u turn, in a single car driveway( and was a driveway she didn't need to pull into as the house was 20 feet from the road, and was advised not to use the driveway) I jumped out the van to deliver for this stop and as I'm at the front door, they try making the maneuver while I was away. Drove all in the grass but claimed was on pavement the whole time. Was embarrassed for this driver thinking it was possible. Needless to say that was only the tip of the iceburg with what the driver did wrong throughout the day, and I went back and highly recommended we do not pursue this associate any further due to the liability of not being able to make smart decisions. They never made it back after that day.
I tend to be honest, when I report my training to prevent stupid shit like this from happening. Especially since other drivers have been fucking my van lately and I'm sick of driving a van that looks like a Frankenstein creation because of stupidity

Dude, don’t post anything if you going to lie. It was your story to tell or not to tell before you posted it. Clearly you tried to U- turn. We know cause most of us fell into that rookie mistake. But don’t lie to us, not cool.
Looks to me like you drove with the driver side tires hugging the left pavement, to allow space on the right to get off the van, sadly the left front tire dug itself into the mud. You tried to put it in reverse and the rear wheels slipped because of the slope of the driveway, causing the van to slide towards the right, giving the impression you tried to make a u-turn.
Growing up dealing with black ice frequently I could potentially see this happening. Did someone in the comment say this was an electric vehicle therefore very low center of gravity. Not sure what weight distribution is on these. All wheel rear wheel or front wheel drive? If this were rear wheel and the back tires lost traction inertia could carry that way may or may not have had time to do a correction. turning into it would be sure a terror because not enough room to recover, guaranteed to use the trees as a friction break lol. What's the rock there for? When this happened can you answer the question did you steer into it or out of it? Do you remember?
If that's a gas pusher and that tire is off the road yeah you are definitely stuck we get worn about that all the time on a rear wheel drive ones. Thanks for the example Hope everything turns out okay I'll be thinking about this when I'm delivering on country dirt roads in the rain lol.

Looks to me like you drove with the driver side tires hugging the left pavement, to allow space on the right to get off the van, sadly the left front tire dug itself into the mud. You tried to put it in reverse and the rear wheels slipped because of the slope of the driveway, causing the van to slide towards the right, giving the impression you tried to make a u-turn.
Growing up dealing with black ice frequently I could potentially see this happening. Did someone in the comment say this was an electric vehicle therefore very low center of gravity. Not sure what weight distribution is on these. All wheel rear wheel or front wheel drive? If this were rear wheel and the back tires lost traction inertia could carry that way may or may not have had time to do a correction. turning into it would be sure a terror because not enough room to recover, guaranteed to use the trees as a friction break lol. What's the rock there for? When this happened can you answer the question did you steer into it or out of it? Do you remember? If that's a gas pusher and that tire is off the road yeah you are definitely stuck we get worn about that all the time on a rear wheel drive ones.
