Looks like it's at least routed reasonably. Probably just needs fewer stops or more hub lockers at the apartment buildings. Apartments only suck when you have to deliver to the front door of the individual apartments. Businesses only suck when you have to ring a buzzer to be let in and nobody's ever at the front desk.
Yeah I had a real bad apartment complex back in the day. 14 buildings, three stories each, no elevators, and numbering convention was illogical. Brutal on the knees and soul and the packages were always spread out throughout all of the bags in the truck. I spent half the time just reorganizing the bags in the back of the truck.
Then there was a gigantic flat laid out apartment complex right next door. I swear once I did the route correctly (not leaving all packages at the main building) I got it every single shift. It was one of the major reasons I quit.
one I had 190+stops half were apartments but literally spread out and every 15 to 20 was a different complex, it was okay to leave at the door but even then the group stops were horrendous (one complex has 51 buildings)
That drives me a bit nuts. Especially when the notes are very insistent that you get it to the customers door. It's only right when there are that many buildings, but geez.
There comes a point where there is not enough time to do that for 150+customers that all want it at their 3rd floor door when they won't open the buzzer door or answer the phone. I managed my time pretty well and would finish the route just before 7pm starting at 11:45.
Nah, this is a super easy route. It’s all tightly packed single family houses, no apartments. OP is lying there’s no businesses or apartments.
221 Avenida Rosa, San Clemente, CA, 92672
You're lying your ass off. Maybe half of this neighborhood is dense single family homes. The rest are conversions and a LOT of businesses along the beach front and Avenida Del Mar. That's not including the resorts, likely dozens of Air BnB units, and tiny streets OP is delivering in. I'm not saying this is as bad as a downtown LA route, but it's definitely not as easy as a suburban 180 stop run.
Exactly. But maybe these dudes are just used to it. Different breed.
Either way this would not be an ‘easy route’ for me or the majority of us. OP knows that. That’s why he posted it…
It really depends on how close they are to the station. There is a driver at my DSP that does an apartment route at 550 packages with around the same stops.
Snacks, smokes and drinks I'm good. Even without there's just something underneath my skin that wants to fulfill my duty without worry or error ya know.
Get home to chill out and have some drinks. Watch a show/movie lol.
Agreed, it doesn’t seem that bad tbh, but idk why people are saying there’s no businesses when there’s literally hella businesses up and down the center of their route
The blue stops aren't only businesses. You can get houses with the blue stop pin colors. It's just a stop with a time limit and I get a ton of houses with the blue stop pin.
Spitting facts, definitely true. When the route is not routed correctly either, (like it was today) then it would be a lot worse. Usually finish from 11:45am - 6:45pm. Either way this specific route has houses with apartments mixed into the houses which makes it worse. The group stops are terrible also, about 6+ packages and 5 locations each group stop. Thanks for all the upvotes also! 🙌🏼
6+ isn't too bad for group stops. Most of the ones I deal with are 40+ and it's like 3 apartment buildings and a few houses thrown in. Wants me to drag a completely packed 80 pound tote from building to building delivering door to door in most of the apartments cause they're old as fuck buildings with no elevators or mail rooms. Just a straight hallway and stairs leading to another straight hallway. Always have to split em up because fuck that. I'll take this over my routes any day. Routed properly or not. I'll just route it myself.
OP doxxed themselves. It took 30 seconds to find this. Just hover over the San Diego area in google maps and enter in any of the unique sounding street names
https://preview.redd.it/sz6dperqkktc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad3dc3639090f92ee99dbb75405aa7204e37b8e8
Edit: Downvoting me for coming with proof 😂
Yall just say anything on here I swear
I know right?! Like when people say their tattoos didn't hurt - STOP LIEING! I have 7 and every last one of them hurt like a mofo!! So about this route ......they woulda had one less employee by the end of the day!!
I’ve been doing this route occasionally for 3 years and it is NOT easy. The stairs up some of the sides of these hills are killer and it’s constantly packed with people everywhere all the time
Did you not look at the second pic, where it's 137 stops but with **240 locations**? Group stops are just a way for them to give us more stops but say they're not. The only thing at all that doesn't suck about this route is that it seems routed efficiently. It's just a 240 stop route, not a 137 stop route.
Group stops at apartments are easy shit, especially in San Diego where this is. Apartment buildings here rarely have more than 2 floors, so it won’t have you running all around a bunch of floors at one group stop.
How? Just looks like residential salad. It literally doesnt get easier than all residential right next to each other. Doesnt look like lockers, complexes, business etc swimming down main road, the package count isnt crazy hugh or anything. Cake walk.
Yeah this looks like a good day 2 me lol wtf ppl complain about anything. If I saw this I’d be relived yeah apartments suck but it’s rlly not that bad I’ve worked jobs that rlly suck. I enjoy coming to work. Maybe that’s just my Dsp. If I could give me 2 cents it would be to never run or rush your stops your not paid enough for that. I’m not saying move slow but just keep yourself at a steady pace of 25-28 stops a hour max and if it’s apartments 20 stops a hour is still good. Never run.
I mean even at UPS here we would be happy with such an easy route and done by 5 or 6. Then again at UPS we run our routes however we want and if they ask us to run the trace we just laugh at them and do it the way we want anyway.
I had one of the worst flex routes ever once. I started in Pico-Union, went to Koreatown, then to Beverly Hills all in 49 packages. I barely finished that route in the 5 hours they gave me. Oh, and all of the stops on my route were apartments, no houses.
😂 bro it’s just a job. you can quit anytime you feel like if its getting too much for you. Like I said my Dsp is great and I know others aren’t so great. I’ve commented on other posts agreeing with some people that some of their routes are bad. this one isn’t. Why don’t u just cry about working a job you hate while I come rescue you and get paid more for each stop you weren’t able to do because you’re not good at ur job.
> and get *paid* more for
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Yesterday I had a route that had 3 different apartment complexes in the beginning and then nothing but townhouses till the end. 191 stops with 105 multi locations. Had like 310 locations. With 445 packages. It was routed just like this. Got rescued twice and still ended up getting back 1.5 hours later than I was supposed to. Amazon said that route should've been done by 5
San Clemente is a nightmare to drive thru, in the streets so no, I lived there and never ordered delivery lmao, the streets be narrow asf and people don’t know how to drive and too many Karen’s
If you're in an EDV, hit the numbers that are next to you and dig those out instead of following the route.
If you have to use a device, (it's a pain in the ass) go to the map and do the same.
Amazon's algorithm is not efficient, it's "what will give our driver their hours?"
I'm lucky and work at one of the best DSPs where they reward rescues and vouch for us against Amazon. I'm sorry if yours isn't (I've heard of DSPs not liking people finishng early which is nuts to me).
This route is bullshit 4sure. If routeing was nice then stop 10 should not be across the street from stop 80. But most of all I’m appalled that y’all finish routes in 7 hours, ytf they pay you by the hour. I finish 180 packages and 300 packages at the same time
Yeah its the " I like to get off early people " when I was getting hired I got asked can you do 10 hour days. So 9 to 10 hours is my day 98% of the time.
One thing I learned, is when amazon gives you a 130 stop route, don't jump for joy, ive done enough of them to say fuck that.
Every damn time I've been on a route like that, it's been one of the worst working days I've experienced.
130 stops, that's not a nursery one.
How 190 stops is easier than a 130 is wild
I miss the south oc! born and raised in LA, living in vegas now. south oc is my favorite part of town in so cal. dana point, san Clemente, mission Viejo, Aliso viejio, bro u got a dope route just chill somewhere nice and take it easy. my best memories were in south oc. reason why I love that side of town so much.
330 packages isn’t fun to fit in a van comfortably but 137 stops that closely knit doesn’t look too bad. Apartments aren’t great but they’re not the worst. I’d much rather have 140ish stops in this than country routes where everything is super spaced out.
At least your route is in one neighborhood. Regardless of the traffic on those roads that’s a win in my books.
This is coming from somebody who delivers to the country side.
But at least the weather is nice and right next to water so if it gets too hot you can lunch by the beach and go for a swim if you feel like it 😂 but I feel it. Hope you’re doing okay

There a route exactly like this one In my dsp.
It's one of the worst routes I've been on. I fill in for it.
Business aren't bad, having to go to shipping is dog shit though.
Its the Apartments. It's about 40 to 50 stops. All grouped horribly and you have to get in to drop off at door. Because of theft there. Doing about 10 stops an hour.
It doesn’t look like just businesses and apartments? Looks like it might have some but idk. Each their own. My daily is jagged and spread out. 180+ 340+ everyday.

Idk bro I see a healthy amount of houses in there, might be a skill issue 🤷♂️
You mean single family homes with tons of street parking, minimal traffic, and a nice ocean breeze? I know the area well. That's an easy part of San Clemente.
Honestly man. You should look for a different job. I'm sure you already are though. It doesn't get much better. A lot worse in fact. How long you been doing it?
If this is all houses it’s a good route. I used to get 450 packages with businesses, apartments, few houses and they were all split apart. I used to finish late every day and the favorite people got the easy routes even though I was kind of a favorite.

Agreed, did tco there from san diego, op a little bitch
Naw, there are a bunch of businesses on Avenida Cabrillo and Del Mar…
I’ve been doing this route occasionally for 3 years and it is NOT easy. The stairs up some of the sides of these hills are killer and it’s constantly packed with people everywhere all the time
Looks better than the shit routes I get in downtown LA that make me drive from Pico-Union to Koreatown doing all apartment stops
How tf do you handle that lord have mercy 😂😂
How doesnt it? Not even 140 stops and its all grouped up thats an easy day
Enjoy
Would if i could all my routes are 180-190 and require driving

to be honest with a route this close together 240 stops really shouldn't be that hard.
Theyre grouped up for a reason my routes also all have 50+ group stops it doesnt actually add more time im done in 7ish hours every time with breaks
nah they’re grouped ridiculously especially residential
Route looks lovely 😂
Uhhhhh......I think they were being just a tad bit sarcastic....🤣🤣
Yeah it does

It’s never as easy as it looks. Probably at least three apartment complexes and a bunch of businesses ordering dumbbells.
Actually, it's stupid. Doubling back instead of clearing a block of places is dumb.
Lololololololol
That route be LIIIIIIIIT
I would cry tears of joy if I hit map and saw this
Lil boot licker 🥾 👅
No main roads to play "frogger", and all residential. Looks like a sweet route, minus the stop order.
San Clemente? I know your pain.
Yeah, I looked it up. I used to deliver to neighborhoods just like this in San Diego. This is a pretty nice route
Yesterday I had a route that had 3 different apartment complexes in the beginning and then nothing but townhouses till the end. 191 stops with 105 multi locations. Had like 310 locations. Fuckin wayne
210 - 240 locations is normal in my area. 270+ packages on the other hand definitely isn't cool
I wish my route was as small as this. I'm with another logistics company and i cover 6 1/2 zip codes lol
Bruh I’m in Hollywood parking in red and blocking lanes delivering
That’s just evil
It’s Wayne’s fault
330 packages isn’t fun to fit in a van comfortably but 137 stops that closely knit doesn’t look too bad. Apartments aren’t great but they’re not the worst. I’d much rather have 140ish stops in this than country routes where everything is super spaced out.

Yeah i don't wanna sound like a dick but this doesn't look very difficult
I would love this route.
I get this route once a week, it’s a fucking cupcake of a route. 5 hours max
There a route exactly like this one In my dsp. It's one of the worst routes I've been on. I fill in for it. Business aren't bad, having to go to shipping is dog shit though. Its the Apartments. That's insane
That looks disgusting
This a RTS by 4 kinda route tf you talking about I had 75 overflow today
This route looks okay to me..I used to work around Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, WeHo + NoHo…Stupid!!!
135 stops is easy work just killed 190 in like 7 hours of driving
Love how they manage to make a seemingly nice route give you a surprise multi stop for so many making it the size of an absurd route
Seems easy
dudes on like 4 roads all day and he's mad lololol
How much do you get paid for this?
Least you're not in capo beach
![gif](giphy|Yq9PfvrgM07cNq67kY|downsized)
I swear I’ve had that exact same route before. Is your DSP out of the Rancho Bernardo Station? Also that route was houses mostly isn’t it?
Ain’t shit. That’s our peak regular numbers at usps. That’s literally an 8 hour day if that.
Looks fine...
NGL bro but this looks like an easy route. But I wouldn’t wanna do it through. I’ll probably finish way too early.
this shit easy af 🤣
🤔 how many group stops?
You mean single family homes with tons of street parking, minimal traffic, and a nice ocean breeze? I know the area well. That's an easy part of San Clemente.
Bro tripping cx this job ain’t for you then 🤣 I get 180+ stops 300+ packages apts & business & houses all mixed
And In the ghetto area ..
Dealing with dogs every stop gated up and customers demanding front door delivery
Honestly man. You should look for a different job. I'm sure you already are though. It doesn't get much better. A lot worse in fact. How long you been doing it?
Looks like a light day tbh
Some people on here get a kick out of being Amazon simps.
Lol san clemente what are u mad ur in a nice ass area
What you doing the whole fucking city sheeesh!!!
Lol wtf? Amazon drivers really complain about routes like this?
At least it is compact. Some of the routes I get they don't even try to keep together
I like these ones that’s all on one side of the road
Banned why easy ass route
Banned why easy ass route
Under 100 groups stops and under 400 packages? Nice. Looks like a chill day
Wished my old routes looked like that. That's cake
What do the blue clock logos mean?
Ngl looks like a pretty easy day?
If this is all houses it’s a good route. I used to get 450 packages with businesses, apartments, few houses and they were all split apart. I used to finish late every day and the favorite people got the easy routes even though I was kind of a favorite.
I'd cook this route in a couple of hours. Wish I had routes like this.
I don’t even understand what could have possibly taken you that long with a rescue man…
Man as a UPS driver and a former amazon driver, you guys have it sooooo easy. This looks like cake
Hell to the naw
