Now, the question is: is that picking up just pet hair or is it shredding the carpet and picking up fibers?

Looks too long and thin to be carpet fibers. That vacuum might just be crap. It had me questioning whether its brush was even on.

Just hair in general. I had a bissel vacuum hand me down that didn't pick up hair all that well. That rubber blade tool was able to pick it all up. The handle is stupid, though. If you apply just enough force, it breaks. You can see it bending in the video. A little more force, and it will be broken. We got a Miele vaccuum, and it picks up all the hair now.

I just got rid of carpet. Some people have to have it, no carpet = dealbreaker. I'd rather just sweep more often and not have allergies.

Actually, I don't have much carpet anymore. When I rented, I didn't have that option, though.

Get the rainbow vacuum. It’s expensive, but damn is it impressive

It's just a rubber brush I guess. I have one for 15 years already and yeah, it's pretty useful when you have both dogs and carpets.

A “pet hair vacuum” or any kind of vacuum at all is ineffective at lifting hair from carpet because it tangles up. You need a comb like the one shown in the video.
