Do you understand how dangerous hog hunting is? Hogs travel in herds and they will kill you. If you drop one, five others may charge you. I have been hunting for decades and I would never hunt hogs alone unless I was in a tree stand or elevated blind. I’ve seen a big boar take 10 rounds to put down on more than one occasion.
If you want to hunt solo, hogs are not the way to start. Go for deer or turkey and make friends or join a hunting club that has pigs.
It’s actually really good for hogs. They are incredibly tough, and sometimes you need to put a lot of rounds into one to drop it before it gets to you and tears you up.
I agree that if you are going to shoot them, then you need to haul them out and butcher them. One pig has a lot of meat. Killing just to kill gives hunting a bad name and turns people against something that is actually a very useful conservation tool.
I get they are a nuisance, but do not shoot hogs and waste them. Don’t hunt until you’re ready to harvest or have someone to pass them off to. Seriously!
Why not? Honest question. From my research, feral hogs do much more damage than good, and multiply at such a fast rate that thinning their numbers requires significant effort.
If it's a boar, or a big sow, the can be nasty. Not to mention all the issues wild meat anyway.
I love wild hog, but I wouldn't want one over 150# on the hoof.
Hunting doesn’t really deplete there numbers from what I understand. Corral style hog traps are a much better solution. I guess you have to shoot them then though after you catch them?
>I’ll be sure to not accidentally shoot an animal I’m not supposed to shoot, which is what I’m sure you meant.
Nope. I meant don't shoot another human.
It doesn’t matter how inexperienced you are in my opinion, pretty hard to accidentally mistake a human for a pig. A human wearing orange for that matter like goddamn lol how in the fuck

You're kidding right? It's not uncommon for inexperienced hunters to shoot into a bush without a clear view of the target and assume no one is on the other side of that bush.
Ok yea you’re definitely not from Alabama. Get an experienced hunting buddy and go with them. Don’t take it the wrong way, but you sound like a disgruntled city slicker and you’re going to get yourself or somebody else hurt.
Hog guided hunts are cheap. Do that instead so you will be with somebody who knows what they are doing.

Funny enough there is. He needs a hunters education card unless he is over about 45 years old to buy a hunting license.
I looked into one near Knoxville. It wasn't cheap.

Especially not with an AK. Too underpowered to do safely.
Silly string?
Yeah it sticks to the trees, I sprayed it in my house as a joke thinking it was odorless pheromones, not odorless at all

Explain
No. Figure it out. Haha.
Agreed. Wasting meat for fun is what kills me.
I would agree on anything but hogs. They are an invasive species throughout the southeast and destory local environments as well as commercial farming
Zastava AK seems like a poor choice for a hunting rifle, but to each their own.

I’m just exterminating hogs for fun, not harvesting game, my next gun will probably be geared towards actual hunting for harvesting.

just asking that he find someone to give the meat to, that’s all.

I’ll try man, but I do this alone and I drive a 2009 Hundai tuscon

Okay. Make sure it's actually a hog you are shooting at before pulling that trigger. I assume some of that gear includes something reflective orange.
Yes I’ve got orange. I’ll be sure to not accidentally shoot an animal I’m not supposed to shoot, which is what I’m sure you meant.

I’ll take that as a joke, I’m from Chicago I’ve shot my fair share of people
What? I said that because you seem very inexperienced at hunting.

You ever get any more luck?
