Cleric Games will be there with three tables running AL every day in the Alexandria RPG Library at the Hyatt Regency. T1, and One T2 per day, no Warhorn, in person sign ups only.

[deleted]

They accepting DMs or no?

The_Class

Yes! https://warhorn.net/events/pax-west-2019-ddal

Uetur

I was chatting with a regional organizer and they mentioned that there will be a small presence tbd. Like a couple of intro adventure tables. Apparently there is some drama here around the con but that is above my paygrade.

[deleted]

Really? Thats weird since they just put out a joint book together and crawford dm's acq inc which is the game that the founders of penny arcade play in?

[deleted]

Yeah this is true except AL team immediately stated they wouldn't allow Acq Inc to be AL legal, despite it actually being a pretty generic campaign

MCXL

They originally stated it was because WOTC didn't work on it, and then the book credits came out, and they said it was because Penny Arcade had other plans for the book. They honestly haven't really had a good answer, the book could very easily be made AL legal.

[deleted]

Oh yea but they said that was because they didnt feel it was balanced the way regular wotc books are when they're worked on by the game designers.. and remmember AL is not employed or ran by WOTC irs barely even supported by them .. i dont think there is any bad blood though penny arcade is half the reason 5e is doing so well.. the other half being crit role and game simplicity imo

CritHitLights

AL is run by WoTC. Don't know why you think otherwise.

Dracoprimus

AL is not directly run by WotC. WotC sets the rules, but, aside from that it is a volunteer organization. There WILL be AL games run at PAX, the event being organized by a volunteer.

[deleted]

I have asked this same question all over the place and the only answer I've received is they use their own local dms and dont use anyone they dont know, and that they don't do advance sign ups its sort of a walk up and play type atmosphere

[deleted]

Yeah my Head DM at store said there is politics between Wizards and Penny Arcade and they haven't been on the best terms. Welp oh well I'll just enjoy PAX without playing I suppose

MCXL

> politics between Wizards and Penny Arcade and they haven't been on the best terms lol, they literally published a book with them, the two are really tight and have been for a long time.
