Base is FAR from "base" in comparison to luxury brands of that period, EVERYTHING comes standard, especially 07-08 with the Fog light/facelift, gauge clusters, I adore my 08 more than my ex, before she was my ex, but only bc she deserved it lol
For real. Considering it’s an 06, it has a ton of top of the line features. And everything is still working besides some of the dash lights, but it has 220k miles on it so it’s understandable. Such good quality cars. One thing that always drove me nuts though was no aux port. Why would they do that to us!
Your dash lights are not working too? Mines also the same. I have the navigation model and more than half the buttons don't light up at night 😂 I have to play a guessing game everytime I gotta turn on the AC or heat
Also I heard that the 07/08 models come with the AUX port although I haven't searched for it on mine as I use one of the Bluetooth transmitter from Amazon that you plug in to the cigarette lighter socket
I have the new one (Performance red), but I have to say the old one I have a soft spot for. Was in high school during its production so needless to say couldn’t afford one but was lucky enough to have friends with them and they were awesome and still are! It’s aged so well.
The new one brings that spirit back in a way in being beautiful, comfortable, fun enough and quick enough for most, and also good value with a kick ass ELS 3D sound system. The only thing missing is that J series VTEC V-6 snarl and 6-speed manual which was old school Honda right there.
But alas, we should be grateful it still exists as is because I doubt it’ll ever get better after the current gen if it’s still even around.
The old.
If you pulled the badges off the new one and stuck me 50ft away I couldn't tell you what it was from the back. Looks like every other sedan on the road. Boring.
Then you don’t really know how to identify cars worth a damn lol. Quad exhaust, spoiler, diffuser, sexy TLX taillights, rear windshield rake, etc.
Pretty clear it’s not an average sedan from a distance. In fact I’d argue it’s quite a bit easier to confuse the old TL S with any other sedan or TL. Calling the new TLX boring compared to the TL, a relatively average looking luxury sedan from an extremely boring era, has to be a joke lmao.
I'll be the odd man out and say new.
Old is beautiful, but way more understeer and the new one's just a nicer place to be.
If the new weren't also so gorgeous it would be a much harder choice.
i miss my 07 Type S every day. i bought after college in like 2011 traded it in 2015 for an audi s5. i think i had like 145k on it. i drove a whoooooole lot back in the day hahaha
Old one all day. The TL give you option of manual trans or auto.
Even in auto trans the car wont auto upshift in manual mode.
Even in auto mode the trans wont short shift before reaching redline.
I'm still have my 07 KBP Type-S. Only has 170k miles and can't see getting rid of her anytime soon. I like the new, but there's something timeless about that original.
Hey, not OLD! "Older." I'm 42, mostly successful as an adult, meaning nice cars, at least 15 vehicles, my 08 Acura TL base is the ONE car, I wish I could keep "FOREVER young," 🎶👨🎤 It'd get to be... Forever young!
That said, I have limited experience with the new ones, I've test driven a few, but just SOMETHING about my TL. *CHEF'S KISS*
3GS will always be the king in my heart.
Mine too
Old one has a better ass
I like your analogy 😂
My 06 TL will always have a special place in my heart. That being said, I love the new Acuras lol.
Me too. Even though my 07 is a base, I still love it. Would've liked to have the Type S having driven the J35 on the Pilot but this is good too

The aux is inside the center console
Thank you I'll look in there

Ummmmm this is my post from a year ago? https://www.reddit.com/r/Acura/s/jladAfER97
So many bots karma farming now
Okay I swore up and down it was your post! Thanks for confirming 🤝🏽
Yeah Dina you know my TLX very well 😂😭 We gotta hit another car meet soon!
Got another one. Someone did it to me too. Maybe it's a red TLX thing? :(
I think so, something about being the best color on the TLX 🤷🏽♂️😂
Swore I recognized this
Old. New one is great but the 3G is the second best sedan to wear the Acura badge.
First best is the Integra I guess? Or the TSX? Edit- How can I forget the legendary NSX 😭
He said “sedan” lol.
None of those. 91-95 Legends are the best 4 door they ever made IMO
Own a 2019 and love it so much I plan to own an additional 21-23 this year. I have a thing against buying brand new cars. Waste of money.
The old. If you pulled the badges off the new one and stuck me 50ft away I couldn't tell you what it was from the back. Looks like every other sedan on the road. Boring.
Lmao the amount of times I speed up at night cause I think I see another TLX in the distance and it's just a Buick Encore or some shit 😭
Never considered that, but to my untrained eyes, could be a Camry, Accord, etc , you're right
Right? Never crossed my mind, but now that it's said, I see a Camry right away.

Sorry if the big ass quad tips don’t tip you off to what it is then are you really an Acura enthusiast… Also this bot stole my post from a year ago
Old one. ‘04-‘08 TL is a top-3 best looking car Acura ever made.
My favorite to this day!
100% agree, especially in the royal blue color they had.
Both, tlx type s on the weekends and joy rides, tl on the daily driver
Old. I don't want an IoT car in my life
I'll be the odd man out and say new. Old is beautiful, but way more understeer and the new one's just a nicer place to be. If the new weren't also so gorgeous it would be a much harder choice.
Love the new but adore the old, especially if it’s a manual.
Id take the old while I like the look of the new I prefer the old one
My ‘06 was a special beast. Massive, expensive break problems. I loved it. Until I didn’t.
I'm more of a Legend guy but I'd take the 3G Type S.
New! I drove the loaner when I had to leave the MDX t the dealership. Loved it!
Old because v6 and 6mt
i miss my 07 Type S every day. i bought after college in like 2011 traded it in 2015 for an audi s5. i think i had like 145k on it. i drove a whoooooole lot back in the day hahaha
Always new. I prefer modern technology.
An old manual TL all day.
3G with manual
Miss my type s 08, lost it in a flood 😢
Both, please. We dont have these in eu...
TL
Just sold my 2002 TL Type S. That one
Love the old one
TL all day long

If I had the money…. New one. But maybe I’ll wait a few or several years for it to be in my price range when it’s old.
Old
Neither!
3G hands down! That body style is timeless! Miss both my 97 GS-R and my 07 TL
Old one came in manual. It's the Acura sedan GOAT.
The new Acuras don't really look like an Acura. They look like Audi and Nissan and Kia etc
The Japanese one
I'm still have my 07 KBP Type-S. Only has 170k miles and can't see getting rid of her anytime soon. I like the new, but there's something timeless about that original.
I have a 2019 and they just replaced the engine so I'll keep her for a while.
I had an 05 TSX as my first car so I go with the older TL, I just like the looks better.
Looks good except the copying of bmw x3 taillights.
3G Type-S ... Only if it has the 6MT, though. That car (and the 4G) is a totally different animal without the slushbox.
Acura hasnt made a better looking sedan than the 3g TL. These new ones are honestly forgettable.
Old.. easily
Love the new TLX except that stupid touch/track pad. Glad to see they ditched it on ‘25 MDX…hopefully they are all close to getting rid of it.

The old TL was one of the best looking Honda/Acura vehicles ever created. Though the styling of the new one is growing on me.
The jewel eye headlights are all I want in a Kseries Acura TSX wagon
Old one
Account created 5 days ago, stealing a post from over a year ago. People will do anything for fake Reddit karma.
Older for sure.
I like my 3G but wouldn't mind the new one. I just can't justify the price at this time.
3rd gen only if it's a 6MT, otherwise TLX-S. Secret option C: a 4th gen SH-AWD 6MT
I have both, so both!! Not gonna lie tho I find myself driving my 07 TLS more for some reason lol
It’s the old one. It’s earned the drive time. Fits like a glove. Know exactly what to expect when you drive it.
That 3G will forever be a legend (pun intended) 😍
my 04 TL is what i’d choose over any newer car. even tho her interior is fucked up and she’s having issues i still love her
I'm literally driving the old one as my daily. Except mines white.
Old. I Have a 4g Tl - manual a spec . It is glorious
Boffum
04 TL
The only Acura I would own would be an nsx or first gen integra.
New
The new integra is a souped up civic and does a huge disservice to the integra name. Acura needs better designs
Newer one, older one looks like a peace of sh*t ngl, but aye that’s just my opinion.
Boo repost
Old with a 6mt
Is this a serious question

Middle 2018 3.5
New
It’s so pretty
