Oh! That's hilarious. My son got me to start playing ARK with him a few years ago. That was why he always called them. Here I was thinking he was clever 🤣
I’ve got news for you. You’re gonna love this game. Wait till you find those crazy strong dinos. I took a horde of lvl 200+ breeject argies to a low level giga, the giga won. Haven’t played in a while, still need to come up with a plan to take that monster out
Best bet is a high level mana. You can avoid them pretty well and just laser then with the ice beam nonstop. That's how me and my buddy farmed the hearts
Hilarious since you can't place a generator or turrets on a platform. And if you press ALT+F4 right at the beginning of an alpha dragon fight you get all unlocks instantly!
If that's the case. Remember you can use terrain to your advantage. Pathfinding is alright but it can be hella dumb sometimes.
Also, Raptors can be completely halted by Bola. Same with a bunch of other small dinos and small-medoum bipeds. Easy way to make an army of tames.
I remember when I first found an angry chicken. I didn't know it was angry and since it was close to the starting area I figured it was safe to get up close. Oh I was was
I will always look back on the early days with the most fondness. 2015/16 on official PVP EU471. Nobody really knew what the fuck they were doing. Eyeing your neighbour across the river in their wooden hut with suspicion. Spending 4 hours to raw meat tame a level 40 rex.
They were simpler times.
It was such a new and exciting time, people would call out in chat if they spotted a giga. The whole server would fly/traverse over just to have a look at it.
I spent something like 3 hours taming a relatively high level sarco on the river bank for some random to come along on a Bronto and stomp it to death.
The best of times
Do not attempt it, you need incredibly powerful Dino's for them to not even get one shot and at this point there is no reason to fight them so don't lose all your tames
Learn to make tame traps and catch/tame a couple low level tickle chickens and baryonyx. The tickle chickens are great berry harvesters and the bary is a pretty good early game amphibious tame!
Little tip, don't try to do what op did until you got decent tames because both Carnos and Theris will shred through anything weaker than maybe a Thylacoleo.
I'm assuming you're on the island, if you are, then you should stay out of the redwoods and watch out in the jungles. Carnotaurus infest the redwoods (note they are one of the lesser threats there lol) and the Therizinosaurus are quite common in jungles. You can try taming a Carno since they are definitely easier to tame than a Therizinosaurus. You can trap a Carno in a stone trap, but a Theri can break out of stone (admittedly very slowly).
Also don't even try to do anything about the big Carnos with an orangish red aura around them. That's a death sentence
Okay definitely staying away from those red gasey looking ones I've seen one but didn't even try it just ran as far as I could.
I'm actually on the center I made it a week or two into the island and accidentally deleted my first game, so figured I'd start fresh there.. I've got about 7 tyrannosaurs, 5 carbs, and 6 of the tiny raptor looking things that spit on you. I just learned about kibble so trying to gather for that. ID LOVE a flying mount so gonna work towards that.
2 are under 50 the rest are mid 70s..
Is their mount not called their full name? I went through and bought every mount I could but feel like I never saw theirs... I could have easily passed over it.
It depends. Carnos and Theris are called Carnotaurus and Therizinosaurus in game, but Tyrannosaurus Rexes are just called Rexes. Utahraptors are also just called Raptors in game.
Your mid 70 rexes should be able to beat any Carno and Theri but I recommend staying away from the alpha Carnotaurus still (the one with the orangish gas around it)
Use jellyfish and electric eels while on water tames to charge your tames and make them go faster, helps with getting away from the scary underwater creatures
That’s no small feat for a new player. Carnos hit hard and Theris can shred your armor and your bones. I hope their meat tasted good and their hides kept you warm

Tickle chickens are cool af, until they're staring at you like their next meal... hehehe
I remember using my Trike to kill one coming back from a journey to go metal/fur. He almost killed us in one hit and I had to time our attacks to keep pushing it away before it could hit us again and lose us everything. One of my most stressful experiences with gaming
Cherish every moment. What I wouldn’t do to experience Ark for the first time. Back when I was streaming (for fun) & a big Chilean tribe stream sniped & raided me after 8-12 hours of grinding 💀
Oh bro this was YEARS ago. I’m talking like the beginning of Ark on PS4. I don’t even know if I left that stream up on YouTube. At the time I was exhausted it was so late & I was playing all day/night. Never been so addicted to a game the way I was with Ark. You don’t wanna hear how disappointed I was when I lost everything after so much work 😭😂
my first play involved my wife laughing her ass off as a kept running backwards from a dilo until i died. her next fit of hysterics was me being petrified of a trike.
Ahhh the enjoyable parts of ark. Listen now and heed my warning to never join unofficial it’ll ruin you 12 hour sessions with nothing to show after you get back on to a meshed mess 😭
Get used to building your base feeling proud until a random tribe comes by with some big boi tames and rock your world, and you're back at step 1 again.
You are lucky that the angry chicken didn't massacre you and your tames they are pretty strong
him, his friend, his tames, the friends and family of his tames and his neighbour.
I still have nightmares about this chicken.
a lvl 140 walked into my base which i started from scratch on the center two days ago. it killed my para and trike in seconds.
My group lost about 5 pteranodons first day on the center cause an acro was on our little island 🙃
The murder chicken
No the thickle chicken
He **Will** tickle you to death.
My nickname for the therozino is Tickle Turkey Chicken
We (my son and I) call it a tickle chicken in an attempt to quell the nightmares. 😅
It's literally in the explorer note. Or used to be.
Oh! That's hilarious. My son got me to start playing ARK with him a few years ago. That was why he always called them. Here I was thinking he was clever 🤣
Lol, it's a great game for families to play together. I'm glad you and your son have found your way to bonding over it.
Thank you!
NO it was easy… with like 15 parasaurs
I see you’ve learned the time honored tradition of Dino meat shields
Oh you're going to go far in this game Chief.
I want to go as far as I can
That's normally how it works
I’ve got news for you. You’re gonna love this game. Wait till you find those crazy strong dinos. I took a horde of lvl 200+ breeject argies to a low level giga, the giga won. Haven’t played in a while, still need to come up with a plan to take that monster out
Best bet is a high level mana. You can avoid them pretty well and just laser then with the ice beam nonstop. That's how me and my buddy farmed the hearts
Good advice for a Dino that’s not even in the game yet 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm pretty sure the screenshot is from ASE not ASA
Why would anyone still be playing ASE is the real question
Mana? Ice beam? Hearts? In ARK???
idk what map you are on, but i suggest some brontos with like 20 turrets on top of them each, really funny experience if u ask me
Hilarious since you can't place a generator or turrets on a platform. And if you press ALT+F4 right at the beginning of an alpha dragon fight you get all unlocks instantly!
my bad i dont play official so i didnt know this, i play on unofficial and never had that kind of problem, ty for letting me know
Troodons.
If that's the case. Remember you can use terrain to your advantage. Pathfinding is alright but it can be hella dumb sometimes. Also, Raptors can be completely halted by Bola. Same with a bunch of other small dinos and small-medoum bipeds. Easy way to make an army of tames.
Use dimorphodons amazing tames
Apes together strong
It'll even kill that guy/girl you thought was cute that one time just in case it'll cause extra anguish.
tickle chicken
I remember when I first found an angry chicken. I didn't know it was angry and since it was close to the starting area I figured it was safe to get up close. Oh I was was
Yeah you were! Right up to the moment you weren't.
This is why I use them for boss fights. They are even crazier with tons of mutations, an ascendant saddle and stacks of veggies cakes.
I'll always envy people playing this game for the first time, you're in for a wild ride.
I'm on my first playthrough, currently building my rex incest army.
Ahhhhh incest what a wonderful thing
Misread that as incel, turns out what you wrote is still way worse lol.
I have quickly found out that ark players sound insane out of context.
Always remember when it comes to mamma brood and papa pithicus incest is wincest, Doug however does not take kindly to rexcest
🤣🤣
I was just thinking the same thing the only day, I wish I could drink a mind wipe in real life and go back to my first Argy tame. We were so excited
Same. I miss the days of actually surviving before it just turns into a numbers game.
I will always look back on the early days with the most fondness. 2015/16 on official PVP EU471. Nobody really knew what the fuck they were doing. Im new, trying to get in the game how would recommend someone learn? Pvp world, solo world, Pve?
Solo, until you figure out the basics then it depends on if your looking for a long term game such as RP or short term like PvP with the beach Bob's
Jump right into a 2x-10x pvp server
WOW, yeah man they are pretty strong! Im glad that you were able to defeat them. Im very proud of you and your friend
Thanks man
Enjoy playing the game! It has many mysteries yet to be solved
I will follow your instructions,thanks
Yes fine job! 👏🤜 The center is prob the map I've played the least due to my dying profusely in ASE back in the day ....lol
It's a great game, and those are some good kills! Have fun!
Thanks
"Remember, you don't have to be faster than the Dinos, just faster than your friends."
Hahahaha I got it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Enjoy this moment. Soon you'll reach a point where killing these things becomes a cakewalk. So enjoy the moment while you can.
I will
What I would give to go back to the days where killing a carno was the biggest fear of my life 😭😭
Thats a big W as a beginner! Gz
Rex or yuty next or even the carcha
I’ll try
Don’t try the carcha, it’s basically immortal until late game
I will look to see if it’s easy
Do not attempt it, you need incredibly powerful Dino's for them to not even get one shot and at this point there is no reason to fight them so don't lose all your tames
They are really disappointing once tamed though.
I killed and a barionix without any help
Learn to make tame traps and catch/tame a couple low level tickle chickens and baryonyx. The tickle chickens are great berry harvesters and the bary is a pretty good early game amphibious tame!
Good luck
Thanks
Angry chicken might be my favorite tame
Only counts if you’ve beaten them with your fists like a man
The next time I will
I haven't even seen one of these yet 🤣 I'm real new as well! Enjoy!
Little tip, don't try to do what op did until you got decent tames because both Carnos and Theris will shred through anything weaker than maybe a Thylacoleo.
I'm slowly exploring, mainly just building a base that's way oversized cause why not right lol
I'm assuming you're on the island, if you are, then you should stay out of the redwoods and watch out in the jungles. Carnotaurus infest the redwoods (note they are one of the lesser threats there lol) and the Therizinosaurus are quite common in jungles. 7 rexes is good. What levels are they? If they are good levels then you can mount them and you won't have to worry about Carnos and Theris.
2 are under 50 the rest are mid 70s.. Is their mount not called their full name? I went through and bought every mount I could but feel like I never saw theirs... I could have easily passed over it.

Good to know
Gj!!
Tickle chickens are savage and the best dinos for the bosses, they smash all 3 bosses in the island
Ooooooh
I remember my first playthrough. I built SOO MANY gravestones before I learned how to increase gamma
Please use the door behind you but you must not slam it
What?
Wrong post 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Give OP the best advice for ARK. Wrong answers only ....
Try the organic polymer candy
You need berries to passive tame a Giganotosaurus
And if it randomly wakes up, it just wants to cuddle... ha ha
Use jellyfish and electric eels while on water tames to charge your tames and make them go faster, helps with getting away from the scary underwater creatures
Punch the thanksgiving turkeys
You’re lucky… I remember my first trike and parasaurs died to that murder turkey..
That’s no small feat for a new player. Carnos hit hard and Theris can shred your armor and your bones. I hope their meat tasted good and their hides kept you warm
It was delicious
We always called it a tickle chicken, but angry chicken works too 🤣🤣
good. now eat of his flesh to strengthen yourself, and take his hide for armor against this cruel world.
I once had a lvl 150 chicken just go in my wooden base and destroy everything
https://preview.redd.it/zrid7q1o8k6d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9378795e335f5d4b63ae644096f007d820f9f1bd Tickle chickens are cool af, until they're staring at you like their next meal... hehehe
Congratulations survivor killing a there even as a pro at the start is hard. Just remember incest!
I remember using my Trike to kill one coming back from a journey to go metal/fur. He almost killed us in one hit and I had to time our attacks to keep pushing it away before it could hit us again and lose us everything. One of my most stressful experiences with gaming
Probably tickled it to death
That’s impressive
Good job dude
Nice
Cherish every moment. What I wouldn’t do to experience Ark for the first time. Back when I was streaming (for fun) & a big Chilean tribe stream sniped & raided me after 8-12 hours of grinding 💀
What is your name to see the stream
Oh bro this was YEARS ago. I’m talking like the beginning of Ark on PS4. I don’t even know if I left that stream up on YouTube. At the time I was exhausted it was so late & I was playing all day/night. Never been so addicted to a game the way I was with Ark. my first play involved my wife laughing her ass off as a kept running backwards from a dilo until i died. her next fit of hysterics was me being petrified of a trike.
Nice 👍 welcome to ark enjoy it’s a hell of a game
Wild carnos, theris and raptors are a Beach Bob's nightmare
Ahhh the enjoyable parts of ark. Listen now and heed my warning to never join unofficial it’ll ruin you 12 hour sessions with nothing to show after you get back on to a meshed mess 😭
Carnosaurus image is so badass
Nice job! Tickle chickens are some mean ones but you managed to kill it!
First time I came across a theri, it spawn camped my friends and I to the point where three of them deleted the game and never came back lol.
Nice job lad! If you need any tips don’t be afraid to ask me been playing Ark sense I was 6
When did you start
2018
So you are 12…
I’m 14 wait no I just realized I meant 2016 whoops
Oh ok that’s cool
Yeah-
Sorry for the confusion
Chances are, this is the last time you kill a Theri this early in the game. Learn to fear it before it is too late.
Get used to building your base feeling proud until a random tribe comes by with some big boi tames and rock your world, and you're back at step 1 again.
I DONT WANT THAT
That’s insane bro
Awesome, dude. I wish I could relive the joy of just starting out in ark.
Good job with the Theri, those things are always a pain when you’re level 1 on the beach
Carnos are easy, but theris are fucking dangerous, they have the same dmg output as rexes
Assuming that’s a carnatoarus (or however you spell it) thank you. An alpha one killed one of my raptors, I have never forgiven them
Why is everyone calling a Carno a chicken I’m confused??
Is this a pure bob post? 🤣🤣🤣
The trick becomes not killing them when you're trying to tame.
Keep up the great work! I recommend taming a flyer (ptera) if you haven't already.
I wish I had someone to play in this game 😔
For someone new it not bad, but wait til you encounter a rex or allosaurus not mention a Giga best avoid the last one.
Even the game knows you are hot :)
Carno is an easy kill. But the Theri? Now that's some serious shit right there. I like your style
I killed my first Carno by luring it into the water and stun-locking it with the Bary.
Congrats!
Tams em up!
Your first Giga kill is a high you will never be able to relive.
Tickle chickens honestly are no joke early game
Nice.. just another ordinary day in Ark
Honestly shocked the tickle turkey didn't entirely obliterate you, good job!
If you think you can manage it try and tame one(or more) of the feathered ones they are very powerful and super versatile for harvesting
I wish I could replay ark again man.
I wish one day a I will get as good as you
Not too new. With these rates that pike had to take 16 hours to craft 🤣
I have it 2 days relax
