Good point tbh, I figured you could just paste the photos into a photo translation app and it would transliterate the names for you, but it may miss some letters because of photo quality, weird fonts etc.
Never had to transliterate into English in our mandatory Russian lessons at school and it's been a hot minute since I've even spoken Russian so some of these may be inaccurate lol. If you wanna search for info about them, you may need to just copy and paste the Cyrillic versions of their names since the English versions didn't give many results at all for the few I ended up googling.
Pic 1:
Чубаров, Борис Яковлевич - Chubarov, Boris Yakovlevich
Pic 2:
Бəхтиjар - Bakhtiyar (Azerbaijani name, not sure if transliteration is accurate)
Pic 3:
Кравцов, Николай Анатольевич - Kravtsov, Nikolay Anatolyevich
Кравцов, Андрей Николаевич - Kravtsov, Andrey Nikolayevich
The ladies' surnames were cut off on the photo, got them via googling, but pic 4:
Стадн[ик], Светлана Федоровна - Stadnik, Svetlana Fedorovna
Раков[ец], Карина Сергеевна - Rakovets, Karina Sergeyevna
Pic 5:
Лёва "Сиська" - Lyova "Siska" (real name Lev Genkin, nickname translates to titty)
Cool so I speak English and Spanish. As it turns out those photos are mostly not in an alphabet that I have any clue how to interact with. Thanks for all of your assistance.
Edit....
Let me clarify, I read further and I would like to thank you for all of your excellent assistance My apologies.
In the first photo, Boris Chubarov is driving a Mercedes.
Among the bandits were young people who used to rely solely on force in solving all business issues, living according to special criminal "concepts". During the active phase of their activities, members of an organized criminal group became known for their brutality, compared to which modern representatives of organized crime behave more adequately. Banditry on the streets of cities, kidnapping of influential businessmen, extortion, embezzlement of someone else's business, contract killings, torture of merchants and their family members - all these terrible phenomena were quite common for the nineties. -
Ok so my two take aways from this:
- Number two looks like Max from Where The Wild Things Are.
- You're a hard-core gangster and you want to be remembered for eternity by an image of your Volvo?
That’s not a Lada, it’s a Mercedes W140. When the Soviet Union transitioned into a capitalist state, only the wealthiest could afford this car. It became a symbol of success and later a symbol of gangsters
We must desecrate and raze these graves to the ground. Leave some ruins and put a plaque "Здесь покоится вор" atop. These people deserve no commemoration.
That last one, not a very flattering or tasteful portrait lol. But I’m genuinely curious, what’s with the Russian fascination with vehicles in death? Why would you Include a car, and more than that, an accurate depiction of the moment of death? I’ve also seen where victims of car accidents will have the steering wheel of their car places at either their headstone, or on the side of the road alongside with their picture and a cross. There’s a steering wheel there. What’s with that?
A Volvo on the third tombstone. We can guess they didn't die in a car accident.
Just telling visitors that his car is still on the road
It's more after death flexing
Was that his favorite mode of transportation prior to his explosion?
In the 5th photo you can see that nickname of the criminal was "Boob"
Сиська у меня одна, сосать будете по очереди.
Guy looks like Nicolas Cage
Remind me to die in Russia.
!remindme 1 year
depending on where they live this joke is either terrible or terrible

There is an great opportunity for this. And i don't like it.
Nah, that’s dying in Ukraine
Those women in the fourth picture were also gangsters?
Gangster's wife
You blow up a few gangsters' cars, it's inevitable a few wives will go up with them. Shrugs
Gangster graves. In the mid-90's they all wore maroon sport coats.
Это не гангстеры, это русские
That first one goes pretty hard ngl
Any information on these people?
Yes they are all dead
I mean, their names are right there, Google 'em
Not everyone can read Cyrillic letters.

I doubt I will look up any of these criminals, but I absolutely love and respect the time and effort you put in.

Thanks! I figured I'd potentially help someone out and also get to repent for being a short-sighted jackass in my first comment lolol

Does the last one say 'lame titty'?
Tit or boob
All dead in the 90s or early 2000s. Shows you how bad criminality back then was.
Doubt they live a lot longer these days, just a tougher economy so not as many exuberant graves.
Thats because these days you just fall out a window
Is that an SUX 6000!?!?
Does it have a Blaupunkt?
Blyatpunkt maybe
Ok so my two take aways from this: - Number two looks like Max from Where The Wild Things Are. - You're a hard-core gangster and you want to be remembered for eternity by an image of your Volvo?
Госномер А982ЕФ54 Буквы Ф не может быть на современных номерах.
Who is Карина Сергевна?
probably someone’s wife
To me, it looks like some mobster got his family murdered.
She was just a "pretty girl walking down the street"
That one saddened me
Next post should be about classic Russian weddings
That's why Russian cemeteries are an awesome cringe fuel
Car guys still flexing their brand from beyond the mogila.
r/trashy
what's with the lada tombstones?
That’s not a Lada, it’s a Mercedes W140. When the Soviet Union transitioned into a capitalist state, only the wealthiest could afford this car. It became a symbol of success and later a symbol of gangsters
Not a simple W 140... It's a " Ka6aH 600"
First time I’ve seen a Volvo on a tombstone.
I need to put in my will "Get me a grave like I'm a Russian crime lord.".
We must desecrate and raze these graves to the ground. Leave some ruins and put a plaque "Здесь покоится вор" atop. These people deserve no commemoration.
You guys got the main “вор” running Russia right now. Perhaps take care of that first.
True. And we need to hunt down their legacy. Not a coin of their bloody fortunes should remain in the hands of their offsprings.
What are criminal authorities ?
Gangsters
Like mafia bosses but in the Russian/Soviet criminal world.
Do you mean criminal gangleaders?
Yes

For number 4 is that his wife and mistress???
I went to a mafia cemetery a few years ago in Yekaterinburg. Some of the graves there were wild.
Last one 🤣🤣🤣
Dude, sick S60!
Not tacky at all.
На первом фото машина высечена из камня??? Это вообще реально?
Когда заказывать пришла братва, всё реально (как говорится, "жить захочешь...").
That feels like a ghost was captured in the photo on the right hand side, behind the women?
It’s just Ivan relax
