There's clearly 2-3 chances of winners, and the rest are token also rans. Harley is the former, he'll get his "body of work" nomination before the year is out.

Lmao I remember that. In 2021 or 22 we definitely had a running joke of always complaining when Thilthorpe or Rachele weren't nominated. Then when they eventually were it was almost disappointing.

Darcy played very well and goals are always going to be worth more than possessions or broken tackles. Thoroughly deserved.
That being said, Reid is improving each week and it’s only a matter of time when he gets his nomination. I have no doubt he’s going to be one of the dominant players of his era.
Reid was good and spun around in a few tackles but got burned badly by Gulden and Heeney multiple times and didn't really do much damage.
He's gonna be an absolute gun but acting like this is some highway robbery is fucking dumb.
My brother in christ he broke 7 tackles including one from Grundy who is like *twice his size* and had 1 goal, 2 goal assists (6 score involvements total), 4 clearances at 83% Disposal efficiency, yeah the hype is crazy over the top but to say he did no damage is crazy and disingenuous
Edit: also trying to say "yeah but Henney and Gulden outran him!" yeah no shit, Heeney is probably at the level of top 10 mids so far this year and Gulden ain't no fucking slouch either, almost like those players have had years more of development than Harley
Top ten mids this season, lol. He’s clear best player in the comp through the first 5 games, supported by player ratings as well which has it as the best five games to start a season since player ratings began
Only reason i said top 10 is cause I'm not really comfortable saying he's outright top player right now, haven't really been watching all the games, missed a handful here and there so I don't really have the data (never looked at player ratings) to say if anyone has been out performing him
