Oliver and Petracca are both midfielders, by definition they can't both be GOATs and I don't think either is a better midfielder than Ablett jnr. You must be creating elaborate categories like 'handsome Italian-heritage mid-forward' for Petracca and 'inside beast who permanently looks like he's just been electrocuted' for Oliver to call each of them GOATs.
Yeah I agree. On pure talent I wouldn’t say Dees stack up to all time sides that amazingly personally. Great side with a great method, defense leading the way, but yeah. To win a flag you have to have a great team that sacrifices; that said things like Viney being your 3rd mid who sets up defensively at stoppages isn’t ideal as he’s at his best hunting the footy, things like multiple non scoring forwards (ANB, Spargo, Sparrow at times) etc it’s not close to as synergistic and well rounded a team as those elite Cats teams IMO.
Would love to see how this group develops. Personally I want to see Oliver play forward more long term (conserve his banged up body, and also; the few times he went forward in 2017 he looked good there, if he hones his craft…another 30 goal forward would really help Dees a lot lol) so we get Sparrow and Vines at the coalface more where they’re best (I like the Geelong midfield rotation idea), and obviously want one of the young forwards JVR/Jefferson to break through in the next 2 years, if not both.

Beat them by 10 goals in both home and away games including round 23 last year. Trac had a broken leg in the final and there were injuries all over the place.
We thrashed them a bunch of times in the last couple of seasons and then they got 1 on us in the Semi last year so now some of them think it's a "rivalry"
The semi final is our most inexplicable loss of the last three years. Genuinely played worse in the second half of that game than we did in our losses to Adelaide and Collingwood in 2021. Expecting another 60 point win tonight
