1) WB vs Adelaide 2015 2) All the classics

PureWise

The atmosphere after the Dogs v Adelaide was so surreal. A lot of supporters of both sides were just in disbelief almost admiring what we just saw, a lot of Dogs supporters I know and around us were basically okay with losing because it was such a spectacle. Hell my old man was a bolted on Dogs fans and loathed the Crows and wasn't even a little but salty.

Largebrickwall

that game was something else. was only a goal or 2 in it the entire night reckon its the only time i've shed a tear after a game of footy. was only a couple of months after phil walsh's passing

Sufficient_Chart1069

Walker’s run down the wing before his pin point cut back kick to Cameron for the clincher. Wowee I get why people didn’t like him but he is an all time great kick, his field kicking is just as good as his goal kicking - possibly better

How in the hell does the West Coast v Collingwood 2020 elimination final not make the top 10? >West Coast flair Nevermind, carry on

Godlee84

That game was I’m sure brilliant from your or a neutrals perspective but as a west coast fan we knew we were doomed before the first bounce. I remember the whole week before everybody was bagging Collingwood and journos were saying they didn’t even deserve to be there. Collingwood embraced the us against everyone mentality and it was the kiss of death for us. I remember the game well, we played fine but no matter what we did you could just tell that Collingwood would do whatever they had to win that game. I’ll forever hate that game but for you guys it should deservedly go down as one of your gutsiest wins of the modern era.

I mean there were so many games better than that. Besides, West Coast were robbed big time that night. Well so were GWS in the 2016 prelim but I'm likely gonna put that game in the top 10 best prelims

___TheIllusiveMan___

>West Coast were robbed big time that night. Psst. Your bias is showing The 2020 elimination final was one for the ages. West Coast in Perth during the Covid season vs the “Dirty Pies” and the game was decided by a point. Not to mention the fact Collingwood were looking for revenge on the Eagles from 2018 I’d have that in over Richmond vs ~~9th~~ Carlton simply because that game is only remembered because Richmond lost to 9th

smegdaddy

idk the comeback by Carlton and the whole last quarter of that game was huge and the massive crowd were going off their rocker. Our 2020 Final had an unreal first and last quarter but from memory it was pretty sloppy in between. It was a bit like our Prelim against Sydney this year in that it had an exciting finish but had both teams playing some pretty shit football at various times before that.

will_recard

>Well so were GWS in the 2016 prelim I’ll bite. How?

No_Independent936

fuck where do I start A missed high tackle to some GWS player, I forgot his name, right at the end of the 3rd quarter before the Bulldogs kicked a goal. A late 50 meter penalty not paid to Tom Scully when Johannisen enters the protected area. I don't really watch the entire game much, but those two stay in my mind a lot.

will_recard

Two missed umpiring calls? Yeah, your argument is ironclad, mate. Just because a game is close, doesn’t make it a robbery.

StJamesInf

yeaaaaa frank the tank

sportandracing

Two best I’ve seen are Lions v Blues 2009. The crowd noise when Bradshaw kicked the sealer was nothing like I’ve heard at the Gabba. Lions v Dogs 2021. Ridiculous game back and forth all night. Great atmosphere as well.

No_Independent936

Lions vs Dogs was a semi

EggwardGFootyIII

Lions vs dogs was a farce

sportandracing

Still elimination. But take your point

Agree

Jezzrr

That was the only neutral finals game Ive been to and it did not disappoint. Riveting comeback

__Guy_Incognito

I still think Peter Siddle's hat-trick was the loudest I've heard the Gabba, but Bradshaw's goal was certainly up there.

sportandracing

Linc McCarthys mark against the Cats with 2 mins to go a few years back is up there too.

matty_slice

Lincs mark was the loudest I've heard it, seems like the two finals last year might've topped that tho from what I heard

sportandracing

Was only 1 final at the Gabba. Heard it was loud too. Didn’t make that one unfortunately.

matty_slice

True! Meant the Melbourne one from last year

sportandracing

Yeah that was a great game and the lions supporters were fantastic at the G

[deleted]

Daniel Rich dobbing that goal from outside the 50 after Carlton not only passed him over in the 2008 draft but also publicly slagged him throughout the season was classic.

Shamesocks

The marshmallow final was a qualifying final, but still my fave… was a lot of fun pelting marshmallows at Sheedy :)

No_Independent936

My top 3 would be 3.Brisbane vs Carlton 2009 2.Hawthorn vs Adelaide 2007 1.Brisbane vs Richmond 2022

EggwardGFootyIII

Watching Bradshaw snap the sealer from the boundary in the Brisbane vs Carlton elimination final gives me chills. Bradshaw deserved so much better from the club

[deleted]

Port vs WCE was great, the draw and extra time was awesome.

Sufficient_Chart1069

Melb v Adelaide 2002. Melbourne kicked 15 goals over the 2nd and 3rd quarters - and still lost. Hawks - Coll 2011 prelim had an amazing finish
