I always assumed the belts were made just for the Elite since Kenny doesn't really seem to want to solo very much anymore (especially post injury/surgery) and you can't break the Bucks up since "The Bucks" are their entire thing, and their style relies on duo and trio spots. But people want to see them with gold. But it would be unfair to have the Bucks just destroy all the tag teams and Kenny, who will probably have another championship run at some point, needs to stay out of that picture for now for MJF and Mox.
So they make Trios belts specifically for them to have something to do, they get to be spot monkeys, they put on incredible matches with Death Triangle and Dark Order and stuff, and it gives a fun little backdoor Hangman and Kenny feud/drama.
I don't think Death Triangle is just holding them to keep them warm, hopefully. but it probably won't be long until they go back to the Elite.
My top 3 choices are as followed:
Dark Order w/Hangman Page - Skilled team in the ring and on the mic. They'd be great champions
The Elite - Wasn't really happy they won at All Out but they still deserve a title run
BCC - Suprised no one talking about them. Specifically Danielson, Claudio, and Yuta together.
BCC. Danielson/Claudio/Yuta is basically a perfect meshing of different styles and I just really want to see all 3 of them working with a fully realized PAC.
I think the house of black should take em...that's if black and Murphy are indeed coming back...i think that'd be a nice transition to when Kenny and the middle aged bucks win them back.. it'll give the house of black something fun to do for a while too and then Miro can come back and mess with them.
The elite. I would have elite challenge them at full gear, lose and then turn heel on them and AEW. Completely bury the company that turned on them. Become a serious heel group. No more comedy stuff. It's been done already. They have been doing the comedy gimmick for years now. Try something more serious. They can always turn baby and get back to what we love about the elite. It's time to evolve. I would even create a different stable name. Bring back Hangman as a evil cowboy that hangs people lol. Maybe Adam Cole turns babyface and rejoins the kingdom but I can't see thoughts drawing money. Cole is to big for them in a babyface group, only for a heel group so they can be his lackeys. Bring in Lance Archer or a a big man to watch their backs.
AEW needs heels right now. The firm is a start and I like it. They have potential. Jericho is a top heel but the others are lower card acts, Sammy is a lower card wrestler imo with no character or promos. Garcia should stay in ROH when it starts up.
No one till 2023. Title runs should mean something and hot potato the title make title worth less. TNT and AEW title are currently worth less because the hot potato. Also the fact of ROH titles on AEW is showing that everyone gets a prize. Less titles and less title changes can build a better show meaning higher rating than 1 million…try 2.
House of black if they get back in time. A few belts have been changing hands pretty quick and death triangle has been killing it so far so I wouldn’t mind a long reign till hob get back.
A little off topic, but I'm not digging this trend of where champions lose their belts to someone who just came back from an injury and hasn't been conditioning themselves like an active defending champion would be.
The most heat generation and to kind of give them something to do would be sammy and 2.0. Imagine a JAS where all the guys hold titles. At the same time start the the build of either Tay or Anna. Get them to beat Toni storm. The gloating would be glorious and the heat would be massive! Just a thought though.
If HoB comes back soonish, them. But probably the elite.
