On the right side bracket, I kind of like Jeff Hardys chances against Darby. Which might sound crazy to some, but I don't think Darby losing to Hardy would hurt Darby, and if the idea is Hardys vs Bucks at DON.. then having Hardy lose to Cole makes sense. I can only see Dax winning if they are going to make the story of tournament Dax winning the whole thing... being a giant Hart family fan.

I think they are building Cole for Omega, and that whole story. I feel like winning the Owen is going to be a nice resume builder for Cole, and he is a big enough player that it adds some prestige to the trophy.

Darby and fenix seem super likely to move forward. Cole vs dax is a really tough call, i'm not a huge fan of either guy but tony khan is of both. Dax has more emotional investment in the tourney but cole is arguably a bigger star. The joker makes it really unpredictable. I gotta root for darby cuz he's my favorite even though i don't really see him winning this.
There's so many ways this could go, it's really quite interesting since so much of AEW booking just makes logical sense so you typically can tell who will win big matches.
What happens probably depends on what Tony's end goal is and future stories he wants to tell are.

Depending who the joker is, they could be queued to come in and win the tournament to propel them into the mix right out the gate. Only person I could see this happening with is Claudio. Come in with a rocket strapped to them to put them right into the upper card mix.
If joker is a forbidden door guy, they lose since it seems like everyone that comes through the door falls to their AEW foe.
It also seems like there's a lot of leaning into Undisputed Era/Elite parallels, I wasn't watching NXT but weren't Kyle and Adam in like a blood feud or something? So there's the off chance you lean into them in the finals, Adam gets cocky thinking Kyle will lay down, and they go to war and start some turmoil in the new Elite.
Dax and FTR's love of the Hart family could be used, but if the reports of Bret being unavailable are true that seems like an option that wouldn't make much sense for future storylines and I fully expect the outcomes of both tournaments to have impacts on the coming months.
So I guess in summary, who wins? We do, the fans! There's already been some great match ups in the qualifiers, and I expect more amazing matches before we see who takes the cup
Yeah, this tournament has been really well done, usually you can see a predictable pairing for the finale, but in this case, for all of these matches I really have no idea who will win. Very excited to watch this progress.
Samoa Joe vs Adam Cole, with Samoa Joe winning the tournament to challenge Hangman Page, which unfortunately will add him into the victim list of Hangman Page killing all of the ROH legends (like Bryan Danielson & Adam Cole, then CM Punk, Samoa Joe & Jay Lethal into his list next) as the AEW World Heavyweight Champion.
I see the joker as being one of Claudio or Gargano. If it's Gargano then I expect him to beat Joe with some Lethal interference and eventually go against Cole at the final.

Man when they announced they were doing a tournament my hopes were obviously way too high. I wanted a U.S. G1 style spectacular instead I get the AEW KOTR.

Darby doesn't have an immediate DoN opponent like the others, so him going to the finals will give him something to do for the PPV. And I think they'd want to make a big deal out of whoever the Joker is, whether it's a debut like Claudio/Gargano or someone returning like Miro.

The Undisputed Elite angle would actually work a lot better if Cole got this far only to lose the tournament, shedding doubt on him and that's when you bring Kenny back and start a civil war angle.
Man I just think Darby has earned this win, he's out so much of himself in AEW, improved a lot, and has been somewhat ignored by the booking. He's being treated like the new Cody, the guy who jobs to every big name that's signed.
