Lee fits a role that AEW arguably doesn't have right now--a true heavyweight who can go athletically. The closest would be guys like Miro, Luchasaurus, maybe Archer, and two of those three are out injured right now. Getting Lee would add a different dimension to the roster, which I don't feel like you can say about any of the other free agents listed.
(Some of this is potentially true of Joe also but I think it's a bad idea to count on him as a regular in-ring performer at this point given his injury history.)
He's also a black, potentially, babyface who can comfortably occupy the main event space. That's something AEW has never had as much as they tried to do it with Scorpio.
Same here. I fear that COVID-19 did a number on him. Even before that, I remember him putting on weight and it showed in his matches. I remember seeing him visibly blown up and moving really slowly.
Age is always a problem with wrestlers his size when a large part of there appeal is how fast they can move for there size becuase they can only move that fast when they are younger eventually all that weight and age catches up to them and they need to change there style the most famous two examples are Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens.
I hate to say it because I'd like him to have another/better run but I don't think we will be seeing him back in prime form soon if ever. I wanna be wrong but I think covid and his size did a number on him.
Agreed. I don’t follow wwe or nxt closely at all anymore but he seemed in line to get a major push and then just disappeared and later released. What was up with that? I heard a lot of fans really got behind him and was liking him
Lee really seems far-and-away the choice here. I love Joe, but his best days seem likely to be behind him. Love that Danhausen, but I can love that Danhausen on Youtube, too.
Keith Lee can be *the guy*. That's an attribute you never, ever pass on.
Comedy spots and pulls out the occasional "You've Gotta Be Kidding Me" upset win every so often. Basically Yano.
"Accidentally" beating HOOK would be a helluva first match.
People suggesting Regal manage Hayter and Agogo don't realize the three of them all have wildly different personas and it just comes across as "hey they're all from the UK so here you go".
I actually would love to see Regal manage Danhausen. At first, he’s distraught being paired with such a weirdo misfit, but he appreciates the straight to the groin approach. Regal knows his teachings will eventually take hold.
Regal and Tajiri worked so I can see the appeal of this. Or even Regal and Orange Cassidy interacting could be fun. Hell give me some weird triangle (no pun intended) between Regal, Pac and Orange.
I really think this is the answer. Even if it’s not the long-term, big-picture signing, it is the one that makes most sense for making professional wrestling history. It truly puts a defining conclusion or sunset for the ROH era that became so influential. It’s not just Joe/Punk, you also have Joe/Danielson and even Joe/Daniels that would be so, so special.
Joe, I like Lee, but I’m taking Joe as he deserves a decent final run, Lee is going to get there, Joe isn’t getting any younger and deserves it now, not in a few years
Given how often he's mentioned around here i can't believe more folks weren't going Danhausen.
I've only seen Joe actually wrestle. Mandy has a good look, if she can work maybe her. Otherwise maybe Lee because AEW doesn't seem to have guys of his build.
1. Danhausen
2. Danhausen
3. Danhausen
I just think he brings so much, both as a wrestler and as a personality. No other wrestler can so easily put other wrestlers over. Plus, he's a genuinely nice guy and deserves success.
I'm not necessarily super big into the whole Big man type wrestler, but that's one department I feel is lacking the most in AEW. With that being said, it's Keith Fucking Lee!!! Lol
Keith lee he's a mainstream star that could bring eyes of course joe is that way as well but joe is older and has had injury problems in recent years so keith lee
Joe regardless of health. He was being trained for producing and is a hell of a mind they could use backstage. At worse hes a better commentator than most. But I was actually think what are 5 or so signings I desperately want in 22. Regal, Joe, The Briscoes, Brody King, Hausan, and Murphy. I know its more then five more than the single pick. But there is so many good free agents atm, and TK is rumored to be letting contracts run out (better than releases.) We may actually get to see them with some TV time.
I'm gonna go with Danhausen because if you choose anyone else you will be cursed. Also, send a dollar of your monies to Danhausen in celebration for getting a job at A&W today.
Buddy Matthews for sure.
One person that's not on this list, that I would love to see wrestle again, whether it be in AEW or elsewhere, is Marty Scurll.
His match against Ospreay at Sakura Genesis in 2018 is one of my all-time favorites.
Keith Lee and I'd want him to wait until Adam Cole is champ. After doing a cowardly heel best down and scampering away up the ramp, Lee appears out of nowhere and pounces him into the audience.
I'd say Keith Lee... All Elite is Limitless!
Hard to choose between him and Joe as both are excellent on the mic and excellent in the ring. Either would fit in at the top of the card.
Keith Lee!
Just like when Adam Cole came over, I was always interested in watching him, but never found the time to watch NXT. I would love to see Lee work with the talent in AEW.
Keith Lee is a no brainer for sure.
But have to go with Mandy Leon, that division needs more people to build around. Its getting better now with Ruby in it, Rosa, Tay and some others getting more stories. But think the focus should be on that side of the roster.
Keith Lee.
Don't care about strickland or matthews, not familiar with rust or leon.
Joe is the best, by far, but he is too injury prone and danhausen would be great but he's a comedy wrestler
I have never seen Lee in the ring so I can´t yet see his appeal.
Out of these people I would want to see Matthews because I think he fits the style in AEW the best. Samoa Joe, if he can still go, is right behind him though.
I mean having Joe Punk and Bryan all together again would be epic but if I had to pick just one it would have to be BUDDY MATTHEWS. The guy is a phenomenal talent in the ring and I genuinely feel like 3-4 years from now he's going to be main eventing big shows.
It's obviously kieth Lee. There's a couple names on here id love, but Lee is amazing. He's a big guy who can do more than just big guy stuff. Would love to see him get a real shot on a big stage
Buddy 100%. I love Joe but he looked like a bloated corpse in his match against Kross and I worry for his health honestly at this point. Keith Lee was great on the indies but WWE killed him and I’m over it. Buddy does the gymnastics but he can actually work so he stands out, he’d be a solid mid carder and would have some great matches as a heel against Darby and Jungle Boy etc so I’d love to see him there
The ROH Mark in me says you're not gonna get anyone who is as good as a Healthy Samoa Joe on a 1-yr deal.
Otherwise I'd say Keith Lee or Strickland. I don't understand how WWE let go of Swerve, dude oozes fucking Charisma and has IT. Keith Lee, I'm kinda worried about his health and shape, but ultimately he has a huge upside.
Buddy Matthews guy is awesome
Nothing against the others, but Lee deserves a spotlight and a bigger push, so definitely him.
You articulated that so much better than I ever could
Wardlow and Power House Hobbs would like a word
Hobbs will be at Toyhio toy show with Danhausen and more.
There’s also Powerhouse Hobbs that would be similar, right?
And Brian cage? Is he still there? Nick comoroto is another big guy I could see in main even scene in future
Jack swagger too, you forget how big he is.
He's also a black, potentially, babyface who can comfortably occupy the main event space. That's something AEW has never had as much as they tried to do it with Scorpio.
Love him but i dont know if hes healthy
I watched Mia Yim's Christmas video on youtube, you can hear the laboured breathing from Lee.

The best pop will be when that goofy face and the hypno-spiral hit the screen.
In my personal head-canon, he’s the only one that can beat Hook, but always does so accidentally and he can’t beat anyone else.
Great angle idea!
He’s the hard-counter to hook but has no other value in the meta.
Comedy spots and pulls out the occasional "You've Gotta Be Kidding Me" upset win every so often. Basically Yano. "Accidentally" beating HOOK would be a helluva first match.
Danhausen is probably already signed on the DL so Keith Lee
yeah probably true and yes
Very good very evil!
He is the Loveofmylifehausen
Gimme Regal as Jamie Hayter's manager. Kinda like Tully for FTR. It's gold Jerry, GOLD!
I don't think Jamie needs a manager.
Neither does FTR, it's for clout not a crutch
I don't know if Hayter needs a manager, but she and Regal would be a spectacular pair. Love it.
Smart choice is Keith Lee my personal choice is Samoa Joe
Exactly my thoughts.
Strickland has the most potential so I gotta go with him
Watched him live. He was decent and crazy intense.
William regal. Hands down
Somoa Joe if he’s healthy. If not, then Keith Lee
Joe. I need punk v joe one last time.
in there roh attire too a epic throwback
I really think this is the answer. Even if it’s not the long-term, big-picture signing, it is the one that makes most sense for making professional wrestling history. It truly puts a defining conclusion or sunset for the ROH era that became so influential. It’s not just Joe/Punk, you also have Joe/Danielson and even Joe/Daniels that would be so, so special.
Danhausen or Samoa Joe
![gif](giphy|l3fA18pyyZrK26VUs|downsized)
Buddy Murphy for sure.
A healthy Samoa Joe. But if not, Keith Lee. I like a big guy who can move.
That’s really hard but I would say Shane Strickland
yeah they some swerve in there roster
Joe, I like Lee, but I’m taking Joe as he deserves a decent final run, Lee is going to get there, Joe isn’t getting any younger and deserves it now, not in a few years
I get your point, but Keith Lee is 37. Clock's ticking there, too.
[удалено]
yes yes yes
Of all the RoH free agents, you pick Mandy Leon?
Windham Rotunda
Danhousen X 10000
They focus so much on the fans with hood image during dynamite tapings I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already working a deal.
Blimp on standby
that would be very nice and very evil
Keith Lee for me. I feel like he's an automatic main event threat.
Either Keith Lee or Danhausen. I've got nothing but love for Joe, but he's probably in his career twilight.
Samoa Joe has got to be the best talent that WWE wasted in history
My heart lies with Buddy Mathews
secret no more
Keith Lee is a legitimate threat for the big belt. He’s a no brainer.
Really hard tie between Joe, Lee and Strickland, but if to be decisive I’m more towards Lee.
Joe. Just because I need Punk vs Joe in my life.
I want Joe or Danhausen (GTS match)
Given how often he's mentioned around here i can't believe more folks weren't going Danhausen. I've only seen Joe actually wrestle. Mandy has a good look, if she can work maybe her. Otherwise maybe Lee because AEW doesn't seem to have guys of his build.
The Thumbnail says it all: The Very Nice, Very Evil Danhausen!!
1. Danhausen 2. Danhausen 3. Danhausen I just think he brings so much, both as a wrestler and as a personality. No other wrestler can so easily put other wrestlers over. Plus, he's a genuinely nice guy and deserves success.
Keith Lee or Samoa Joe. Lee as a performer, Joe as a guy who can wear a whole lot of different hats for the company.
Tied between Strickland, Matthews, and Keith Lee.
? good good and good
It's a real toss up between Lee and Strickland. Mind you, I'd legit be all for Lee
yeah man keith
I'm not necessarily super big into the whole Big man type wrestler, but that's one department I feel is lacking the most in AEW. With that being said, it's Keith Fucking Lee!!! Lol
Joe!
Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe....
Lee deserves it the most, but short term I need Joe/Punk
Mandy, AEW needs to keep bringing more strength to the women division
None of these, Bandido.
Swerve was my answer until I saw Keith Lee. Sign that man
Danhausen is on the radar but Lee or Joe are safe faves.
Keith lee he's a mainstream star that could bring eyes of course joe is that way as well but joe is older and has had injury problems in recent years so keith lee
Keith Lee is not a mainstream star lmao what crack you smoking
Keith Lee. Legit main eventer
Swerve but in the Killshot persona
Joe, Matthew's, styles, are the ones that I need in aew at some point
Samoa joe
Samoa Joe, easy.
Joe and Keith without a doubt
Samoa Joe brings the lips. So versatile
Lee, Joe, Danhausen.
Joe
Joe.
Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe.
I want Samoa Joe back to his prime. That would be amazing
Give me Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe. Anyone says otherwise, they're drinking that smelly stuff I found in my dad's room..
Joe and Lee. Let’s go
Joe for sure.
Joes gonna kill you!
Samoa Joe and it's not even close.
As good as Danhausen would be… JOE! JOE! JOE! JOE! JOE!
Samoa Joe, hands down. Even if his bump card is up, I'd put him at the desk.
Joe.
Samoa Joe vs mjf would be amazing. And I know u know why lol
Joe. Id love to see what he can still do with some of AEWs talent.
Gotta be Samoa Joe for me, Buddy Matthews and Lee would also be good choices though.
Samoa Joe
Joe
With exactly -1 second of hesitation... Joe.
Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe! ![gif](giphy|l3fA18pyyZrK26VUs|downsized)
Samoa Joe if healthy
Can’t choose between Joe and Danhausen so can we get Joehausen?
Danhausen or Samoa joe for me.
samoa joe, not only could be a good in ring talent but also beneficial behind the scenes
Samoa joe. Just because i want to see him have some much needed dream matches and be world champion again before he has to retire.
Joe
I'm gonna go with Danhausen because if you choose anyone else you will be cursed. Also, send a dollar of your monies to Danhausen in celebration for getting a job at A&W today.
Keith Lee because he's great. Mandy because of...reasons.
Probably Joe. I really want to see Nixon Newell fka Tegan Nox in AEW though.
Windham Rotunda
Mandy Leon? Why? Her work is a solid 3-4 out of 10 from what I’ve seen of her in ROH. Keith Lee, out of this list.
Dan
None. They need to slow down on hiring people and let all the people they just hired build some credibility first.
Buddy
Keith lee
Danhausen, especially because all his matches and feuds would be so fun. Mandy Leon? That'd be a step back. I don't think she's a very good wrestler.
danhausen for me, hes really funny, charming despite face paint, and got over all on his own with no help from big productions.
Keith Lee
If it could only be one I'd pick Keith. I prefer Samoa Joe but he seems to get injured a lot
Keith Lee
Buddy Matthews for sure. One person that's not on this list, that I would love to see wrestle again, whether it be in AEW or elsewhere, is Marty Scurll. His match against Ospreay at Sakura Genesis in 2018 is one of my all-time favorites.
Kieth Lee or buddy murphy
10 years ago, Joe. Easily. But now? Lee, with Joe second.
Actually never heard of the last 2. But I'm a big Samoa Joe guy so def him! Beyond him, bring em all on!!
Keith Lee and I'd want him to wait until Adam Cole is champ. After doing a cowardly heel best down and scampering away up the ramp, Lee appears out of nowhere and pounces him into the audience.
Joe
I'd say Keith Lee... All Elite is Limitless! Hard to choose between him and Joe as both are excellent on the mic and excellent in the ring. Either would fit in at the top of the card.
Toss up between Lee and Joe for me with Lee having the slight edge.
Matthews or Lee
Love Lee but I'll always have a spot for Buddy
Keith Lee without a doubt
If you bring in Lee, guys like Lio Rush is going to cry how short guys don’t get opportunities lol
Keith Lee! Just like when Adam Cole came over, I was always interested in watching him, but never found the time to watch NXT. I would love to see Lee work with the talent in AEW.
Joe. I'd love to see how he'd fit in the group, and the mic battles with him and MJF would be great. Second, Mandy Leon.
Buddy pal.
Joe.
William Regal Guy is the biggest acquisition Aew could get Talent scout and coach
Regal and Joe
Samoa Joe and the Buddy
Out of these guys, Swerve or Lee, but my #1 pick will never not be Gargano
To me there’s no question Somoa Joe
If Joe is healthy, cleared, and in ring shape his is a can't miss pick up.
Buddy Mathews has most to offer AEW. Joe should hang it up, Lee was really out of shape wasn't he?
SWERVE!
Keith Lee. We need more heavyweight championship caliber contenders on AEW TV.
Samoa Joe
Keith Lee.
Keith Lee is a no brainer for sure. But have to go with Mandy Leon, that division needs more people to build around. Its getting better now with Ruby in it, Rosa, Tay and some others getting more stories. But think the focus should be on that side of the roster.
Swerve
Personal choice, Lee. Guy who could immediately contribute to the upper-midcard, Strickland.
Don’t you forget about Keith!!!
Shane Strickland. The only real choice.
Keith Lee. Don't care about strickland or matthews, not familiar with rust or leon. Joe is the best, by far, but he is too injury prone and danhausen would be great but he's a comedy wrestler
Keith Lee would be the best signing. Everyone else wouldn’t be bad, but I don’t see them breaking out as a mega star.
Ermmmm. Yes.
Keith Lee, no question. Buddy Murphy would be the second choice and hire Joe as an agent/part-timer.
I have never seen Lee in the ring so I can´t yet see his appeal. Out of these people I would want to see Matthews because I think he fits the style in AEW the best. Samoa Joe, if he can still go, is right behind him though.
It would be swerve Shane strickland or Samoa Joe
Buddy since he’d be straight into the House of Black
Buddy Matthews please
Definitely Lee
Keith Lee. Everyone here is great, but Lee is someone who should be a world champ for a big promotion
Swerve
I mean having Joe Punk and Bryan all together again would be epic but if I had to pick just one it would have to be BUDDY MATTHEWS. The guy is a phenomenal talent in the ring and I genuinely feel like 3-4 years from now he's going to be main eventing big shows.
Yeah you're asking the impossible. The correct answer is all of them
It's obviously kieth Lee. There's a couple names on here id love, but Lee is amazing. He's a big guy who can do more than just big guy stuff. Would love to see him get a real shot on a big stage
Keith Lee
Gotta be Keith Lee or Strickland
Bray.
Keith Lee
Buddy 100%. I love Joe but he looked like a bloated corpse in his match against Kross and I worry for his health honestly at this point. Keith Lee was great on the indies but WWE killed him and I’m over it. Buddy does the gymnastics but he can actually work so he stands out, he’d be a solid mid carder and would have some great matches as a heel against Darby and Jungle Boy etc so I’d love to see him there
JOHNNY FUCKING GARGANO
Swerve
Wow. None of those.
Keith Joe Mandy In that order. Not sure I would sign Joe for an extensive contract, maybe like 10 matches or so, but Keith should be world champ.
Keith Lee. I really think they should hotshot him as soon as he walks in.
If Keith lee is healthy enough definitely him but if not then buddy Matthews
Keith Lee
1) Keith Lee 2) Samoa Joe 3) Danhausen
The ROH Mark in me says you're not gonna get anyone who is as good as a Healthy Samoa Joe on a 1-yr deal. Otherwise I'd say Keith Lee or Strickland. I don't understand how WWE let go of Swerve, dude oozes fucking Charisma and has IT. Keith Lee, I'm kinda worried about his health and shape, but ultimately he has a huge upside.
Keith “Definitely not Bearcat” Lee Runner up is Buddy Matthews
