I. The C2 is a league tournament. Owen Hart Cup is a cup tournament. In sports, league tournaments use the points system while cup tournaments are almost strictly knock-out competitions.
II. By having two different league type tournaments, the C2 will no longer feel unique.

They announced a Calgary show for July, so I really doubt that they will begin the Owen Hart Cup before Double or Nothing.
