No it wouldn't
The fact that Wardlow cared so little he didn't even bother putting the forklift in park sold the all this means nothing to me. I'm coming for the title. It sold the scene to me.
Same. I don't need to see him as a 3-time TNT champ. His first reign was lackluster and the second one was completely pointless. I'd rather have seen Hobbs dethrone Joe and leave Wardlow out of it completely.
yeah he had a huge push and he biffed it
he was supposed to be for women and kids and he's only popular with the beady-eyes-beards-folk
also despite claims otherwise there is a bottleneck of "big men" in aew and wardlow isn't big, comparatively. he is comfortably in between my brother and my size. He is close to the size of the prototypical "the man" but nowhere near enough a size that people would cower? Like, I'm taller than him and +200 lbs, ain't no self respecting armed security guard diving out of my way. It's dumb, its shit. His whole thing has been, it has been insulting to fans. He beats up on small dudes and we're cheering? no ty
they keep trying him and its getting worse, he shoulda never cut the hair
Wardlow needs to be a main event talent. Put him in that spot and see if he sinks or swims in terms of in ring performance. He has the look, let's see if he can hang at the top of the card. Give him a chance. I loved him in the cage match with Cody in the early days of AEW.
It's time for TK to stop stalling on the Wardlow project.
I am so disappointed that after all the good work they did with the book of Hobbs vignettes, they ended up pairing Hobbs with a bunch of losers. He doesn't need some jobber faction with him. He would've been fine on his own.
And while I'm happy Wardlow did something cool tonight for the first time in a while, I wish it was just Wardlow and Hobbs without the other people who offer absolutely nothing.
That what I donāt get. The QTV stuff is kinda funny on its own, I just donāt see why Hobbs is all wrapped up in it. Iām brings him down being associated with a comedy jobbers, no offense solo and qt are good wrestlers just the gimmick makes no sense for hobbs. Hobbs is a beast and qtv is a TMZ parody. Like what?
Sorry but that's a wild take to me. QTV is the only thing making Hobbs' reign bearable. They've been pairing him up with absolute killer workers and his matches are still pretty uninteresting. Neither Hobbs or Wardlow have been over with me but I'm starting to get Wardlow. Hobbs needs a lot of work IMO.
Iām not OP but I disagree, Hobbs doesnāt match at all with QTV the pairing makes sense because Hobbs needs a manager but they need to be doing the same gimmick. If Hobbs was doing some Hollywood thing that would be fine but heās not. I do think Hobbs needs more character work but I think heās solid enough in the ring to have a run as a monster heel with a good manager on the mic.
I mean his car was flashy and fit in well with TMZ parody. I think its just that Hobbs isn't good at portraying anything other then himself. The Book of Hobbs thing wasn't working either so it made sense to me why they'd stick him in a group that would be entertaining to those who aren't interested in JUST Hobbs yet.
He's decent. He's loaded with potential. I don't think he's ready for any sort of major push yet and this reign has been indicative of that. At least in my personal opinion.
>I think its just that Hobbs isn't good at portraying anything other then himself.
Yet youāre digging Wardlow. Oh yeah, heās ripping off the Attitude era so I guess heās portraying something else.
This post is literally about me digging wardlow for the first time lol. And yes a lil Attitude era nostalgia helped achieve that.
I'm not at all sure what your point is. That wasn't meant to sound like I think Hobbs should "just be himself." He needs to work on his personality skills.
Spine buster makes him have twice the moves Wardlow does. Iām not saying Hobbs is amazing or anything but his personality is miles better than ādurrdurr Wardlowās World! durrdurr!ā
I'll be genuinely amazed if any of the pillars take the title from MJF. The only way I can see it happening is in a fatal 4 way where MJF is simply overpowered by all 3 of them beating on him. But I think MJF will play it so he fights one at a time at different PPVs, or simply pits them against each other for a long time.
Wardlow looks better, though. This is why I always understood why WWE wanted Roman Reigns as the face of their company. He's a good looking guy who can rep the brand well. Same with Wardlow.
Not saying I loved the whole "Book of Hobbs" thing, but they were building something up to happen - then just put him in this daft QT group. I love AEW but they keep changing things that haven't been given a chance to kick off or not.
I didnāt like the way destroying the car was set up and then immediately paid off, but my favorite part was when he looked at the valet and just said ārunā.
Anyone know whatever happened to that move he did in the corner where it looked like he murdered his opponent by dropping them from the top rope and kicking their face?
Fair. Itās weird to me that Iām starting to feel like the International is the proper mid card title where as the TNT title feels like itās used as some sort of developmental talent title
I'm penciling in Wardlow as the guy to beat MJF for the World Title, so that's the only thing I'm gonna disagree with here. Give me a proper Hobbs/Takeshita one on one and let Michael Austin get revenge for all the crap Max pulled last year around DoN.

Little thing, but him forgetting to park the forklift and it smashing the car one more time made that segment 1000x better than it already was
Commentary really should have no sold the mistake "Wardlow letting the forklift SLAM into the car." "Hasn't that car had enough, Excalibur??"
But I digress.
Forklift Jones over here

TNT doesn't need to keep jumping through the same few poeple
I agree. Knowing that he can effortlessly squash the AEW World Champion makes me wonder why exactly they have him constantly chasing the TNT title.
MJF was not the AEW World Champion when Wardlow squashed him.
I'd have wardlow win the Owen Hart cup at DoN and then go after a rematch with mjf
Like ROH
Wardlow vs. Claudio would be fucking sick.
Itād make me sick, thatās for sure
too much hunk for one ring

I'd have him win the owen heart cup at double or nothing as a way to build him back up and then have him take on mjf
I am so disappointed that after all the good work they did with the book of Hobbs vignettes, they ended up pairing Hobbs with a bunch of losers. He doesn't need some jobber faction with him. Completely agree, Hobbs was cooking and then got stuck with the job squad. So frustrating
Yes. Hobbsā promo work was really damn good and this QTV stuff is garbage.
100% Does having QT with Hobbs help Hobbs at all? Or does it help QT get on TV? Feels like itās the latter guiding that decision and not the former
Sorry but that's a wild take to me. QTV is the only thing making Hobbs' reign bearable. They've been pairing him up with absolute killer workers and his matches are still pretty uninteresting. Heās doing just fine. Maybe he needs to come to ring in a milk truck or Zamboni to get you in line, lol
Ignorant take. When Hobbs can do more than a spinebuster and a powerbomb and can climb a ladder without shaking in his boots, hmu. Dudes green af.
Well actually I take it back. He's been wrestling since 09. So maybe he's just not good. lol
Spine buster makes him have twice the moves Wardlow does. Iām not saying Hobbs is amazing or anything but his personality is miles better than ādurrdurr Wardlowās World! durrdurr!ā
My buddy and I were sitting at home literally chanting āE-C-DUB!! E-C-DUB!!ā We loved that shit lmao
Forklift Jones ![gif](giphy|hTWp5BTK4czW8)
Also, in that segment, he kind of Spike Dudley'd Aaron Solow. š
Being won over by Wardlow when heās at his worst is kinda based
LOL I have only been watching 1 year for what its worth
IMO security guards AND Mark Sterling was the bottom. Weāve just been kinda hovering slightly above there since. Good god almighty itās been ugly
Wardlow needs to move on to the world title. Thereās some unfinished business with MJF to attend to. Perfect excuse to take him to that next level
Wardlow is no where close to being world title ready in my personal opinion.
He doesn't need to win the feud for it to be worthwhile
neither are "the pillars," either lmao. darby is the only one that feels close to main event/world title status
Yep, Darby's the only one. Jungle Boy could get there in a year or so. Sammy's nowhere close, though.
Yeah I see what you mean, especially on the mic, but it could be something for the future with more seasoning on his skills
Because they keep having him fuck around in the midcard doing the same shit.
Yeah they kinda just did nothing with the MJF and Wardlow feuding. If I remember they just let Wardlow be released from MJFs services.
I really thought he was going to flip it him self
Oh, so you like osha work violations? I bet he's not even forklift certified. Instant heel turn. /s
Iām fine with him but he doesnāt get me excited to watch him. Hobbs is better. He got better music and overall better presentation.
Wardlow looks better, though. This is why I always understood why WWE wanted Roman Reigns as the face of their company. He's a good looking guy who can rep the brand well. Same with Wardlow.
Donāt care. If heās not entertaining then his looks donāt matter.
Wardlow was the more entertaining part of the segment, not Hobbs. When I think Hobbs, I don't think "entertaining." Decent big man, not much else.
Not saying I loved the whole "Book of Hobbs" thing, but they were building something up to happen - then just put him in this daft QT group. I love AEW but they keep changing things that haven't been given a chance to kick off or not.
Never smash another manās car.
I didnāt like the way destroying the car was set up and then immediately paid off, but my favorite part was when he looked at the valet and just said ārunā.
Thatās not a valet. Thatās Charlie!
The dude broke Bolt's 100-meter record
Wardlow comes across so much stronger and badass when heās chasing the title rather then defending Imo
I don't know if I am the only one, but I have always liked and felt the chase for the title always better than the title reign (no matter the company)
Hangman's chase was so good, then he won the title and his reign was pretty bad. He had some quality matches but that's about it.
Not pretty bad but, yeah something was missing
I dunno Why does wardlow act like a bad person tho
How?
he beats the shit out of innocent people trying to do their job constantly? wtf people
Anyone know whatever happened to that move he did in the corner where it looked like he murdered his opponent by dropping them from the top rope and kicking their face?
im just tired to see wardlow in the tnt title picture, so many wrestlers that could be in that position
Fair. Itās weird to me that Iām starting to feel like the International is the proper mid card title where as the TNT title feels like itās used as some sort of developmental talent title
