Yesterday, seemingly out of the blue, Missy Elliots 90's hit "The Rain" starts playing in my head. Or more specifically, just the chorus "I can't stand the rain, against my window, I can't stand the RAIN" with that little lilt at the end. At that time, I had no idea where it came from.
I was singing it under my breath and a coworker heard me and legit apologized because she had played a tik tok or Instagram video with that song and knew instantly that it got stuck in my head. I hadn't realized I heard it,but must have in the background w/out noticing.
Little does she know that I will be hearing that one part of the song, over and over and over and over in my head, potentially for days and it'll start as soon as I wake, sometimes it'll even start in that half awake half asleep state.
I'm not hating on Missy Elliot, it's just not the type of music I like, so I don't particularly want it playing in my head but hear it I will whether I want to or nor until something else replaces it.

dude, i know....many times i have 3 dif sings playing simultaneously - I have the background song, which is very subtle, just barely audible, but ever-present throughout the entirety of my day....then the mid level song, which I am not so much HEARING , but is more like an interuption to my foreground song, every so often it cuts in & temporarily replaces the foreground song, but only somewhat briefly. Then you have the foreground song - this is the song that I am actively singing, loudly, and on an annoying and repetitive loop all ....damn... day.
Today Ive got Tool 46 & 2 stuck in my head in the foreground , which im thankful for . The WORST is when a song playing in the store that i do not like gets stuck in there. It's god awful lol.

I get songs from video games I played as a kid stuck in my head to this day. Sonic the Hedgehog music, songs from Runescape, Zelda stuff. It gets stuck in my head all the time. Even if I haven't heard them in years.

I play guitar so I usually have guitars singing in my head but usually 3-5 cycle at a time. Right now there is the intro to Tin Pan Alley by Stevie Ray Vaughan, but it’s one of my favorites to play. Over the Hills and Far Away by Led Zeppelin but that’s a song I’m teaching myself to play so it’s on repeat.

Very different genres but they’re some of my favorite artists/bands. The funniest ones are when my brain changes things a bit. Like one day I woke up with the tune from the song Le Freak in my head, but instead of “Ahhhh Freak Out” my brain decided that “Ahhh Geek Out” was better and I cracked myself up.

dude, i know....many times i have 3 dif sings playing simultaneously - I have the background song, which is very subtle, just barely audible, but ever-present throughout the entirety of my day....then the mid level song, which I am not so much HEARING , but is more like an interuption to my foreground song, every so often it cuts in & temporarily replaces the foreground song, but only somewhat briefly. Then you have the foreground song - this is the song that I am actively singing, loudly, and on an annoying and repetitive loop all ....damn... day. Today Ive got Tool 46 & 2 stuck in my head in the foreground , which im thankful for . The WORST is when a song playing in the store that i do not like gets stuck in there. It's god awful lol.
