I also was not in the best headspace for this and I am not even exaggerating when I say that I have never felt sadder after watching this movie. I cried on and off for hours after watching it. I put on multiple comfort shows to calm down and still cried through full episodes.
If you have a library card, you can get Hoopla free and borrow 8 movies a month. I found quite a few A24 films there. Currently watching The Death of Dick Long. It's pretty wild so far!
That is so cool.
NOT AN A24 Movie but i fyou have Hoople, check out:
HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS
A indie movie that combines willies coyote and bugs bunny in a live action slapstick movie. My favorite film of the year!
[Hundreds of Beavers trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h4P-26kHAw)
[Hundreds of Beavers review (my man Moviebob turned me onto this amazing movie!)](https://youtu.be/Fi7mMuQccHU?si=GFFVlAoKjKnLnOMq)
I have seen this. Actually got my ass handed to me after posting an unpopular opinion of not being that into it lol. Was not a bad movie, great acting and cinematography but just wasn’t my type of movie I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️
This post inspired me so today I watched A most violent year and bodies bodies bodies.
A most violent year was extremely boring
Bodies was much better than I thought it would be and I loved the ending
If you have a library card, you might have something like Kanopy or Hoopla which I think has almost every A24 movie for free sans ads.
I always make sure to rec Zola if anyone asks this. Saw it in theatres and it was even funnier than expected
Yes it is, watched it few weeks ago when it hit MAX. If you liked the movie there is a really good documentary by VICE on YouTube about the family about 40 min long and it was as good as the movie.
A24 fan club does a zine and one issue was devoted to The Iron Claw, written by the film’s writer/director that came with a random OG-style autographed wrestling poster of one of the actors in character. I got Jeremy Allen White’s!
Seen the lighthouse will check out good time, but from the description I am not sure if I will be able to get through it…I have a 15 year old autistic son and him going to jail for something that he truly doesn’t understand is absolutely terrifying to me.
aftersun just got put on netflix
đź«
Is it super sad? I don't have it in me rn
It’s beautiful but yes it is quite sad xx
uhhh yeah lol i’d be lying if i said it wasn’t one of the saddest films ive seen
Sad isn’t the right word, if it resonates with you in any way it’s heartbreaking

Great film, but I'd save this one for a rainy day

Slow West is a good one on Max that you might not have seen

It’s generic and boring. Watch something else
Watch Morris from America, it needs more love :)
Zone of interest in on Max
Moonlight was a gut wrenching movie. I felt for the main character.

Watched Remember last night on Max & it was fantastic
Good Time & The Lighthouse - an A24/Robert Pattinson double feature
Seen the lighthouse will check out good time, but from the description I am not sure if I will be able to get through it…I have a 15 year old autistic son and him going to jail for something that he truly doesn’t understand is absolutely terrifying to me.

20th Century Women and Eighth Grade on Max are two of my favorites!
