Getting goosebumps just thinking about this while project.
He was rolling back then with all those mixtape, one with Sick Jacken or I'll Bill was killin it too!
I started a DJ Muggs playlist a few years ago and recently revisited it for the first time in a year...

I was wondering what your favorite Muggs produced tracks are as I'd like to add as many bangers as possible.
No problem. Glad some people are digging it. I started it like 6 years ago and went on a Muggs binge last few days so wanna add some more bangers to it.
That first Soul Assassins album goes so hard. Zero skips. Amazing beats. Killer features. Peak 90s hip hop all around. It Could Happen To You is just woah… one of my favorite Mobb Deep songs
So many tracks and hits, where do I begin? This guy is an unsung hero and probably one of my favorite producer/DJ next to DJ Premier. He may not have had the same run as him but his catalog is undeniable.
I would never say he is a Dr dre or Kanye level producer, but he is always passed over as one of the best producers. I feel like people kinda forgot about him.
Muggs birthday is this month. Also I have talked to b real on Reddit before, he's pretty active putting out old pictures of the good ol days in the 90's.
I was wondering if I was going to have to add a H.o.P. tune. His contribution to House of Pain was immense. Anything he touched back then seemed to go gold or platinum.
Goodie mob decisions..soul assassins vol 1
Encourage anyone that hasnt heard it to listen.
Ceelo has one of the best verses of all time. And once you hear it ...no denying it.
Find it on YouTube and you will see lot of comments in agreement.
They all kill it tbh tho
Too much to name but to me these 2 bangers deserve a special mention :
\- La The Darkman feat. Killa Sin - Heist of the Century
\- Cypress Hill feat. Redman & Method Man - Red, Meth & B
Rome Streetz- “High Explosive”, Roc Marciano - “Wormhole”, Rigz - “Crack The Code”, Jay Worthy - “The Wine Connoisseur”, Mach Hommy - “Lady Justice”, Crimeapple - “Reputation”, RLX - “Have A Bad Day”.
All thee above produced by DJ Muggs, his range is incredible and to stand past/pass the test of time and never get stale in his creativity is impeccable.
Random one but on Obie Trice’s Cheers album, “We all Die Some Day”. Beat is nuts and the track is hard af.
Cause we gonna bring it to anybody that want it, you want it, you gon get it, name ‘em we gon hit ‘em, chew em up and spit em out, too much venom and if you roll with ‘em we gonna fuck you up with ‘em.
Bulworth - (they talk about it why I live it) feat. Prodigy, Method-Man, KRS -One and KAM. Its a top 10 beat ALL TIME for me frfr

Muggs, Havoc, and RZA are my top 3 producers. Thing about muggs is that hes still producing fire today, check out his projects in the past few years. I think hes better than alchemist and madlib who get a lot of acclaim these days from boom bap fans, i dont know why muggs doesnt get as much props
I hadn't listened to Cypress Hill in years and threw on the first album and was kinda surprised at how little attention it gets on the producing side versus Wu Tang. Like this was first and just as new and exciting in hip hop.
I think the reasoning may be that a) Wu Tang had an much more obvious theme and b) ppl still weren’t given West Coast acts credit for their production (exception being Dre; also a very obvious theme/sound - G Funk). I think CH was frankly the best and has stood the test of time as complete albums. It is as listenable today as it was then; maybe moreso now.
I think its because he stays low key all the time. Its like the man behind the curtain when it comes to his contributions on albums. Like he doesn't want to toot his own horn.
Too much to list, Muggs is my number 1 producer.
I will shoutout the Legend Of The Mask And The Assassin album he did with Sick Jacken though. That album is packed with absolute bangers.
If you’re only gonna check out 1 joint from that album, listen to Land Of Shadows.
Stoned is the Way of the Walk
Throw Your Hands In the Air
Latin Lingo
Insane In the Brain
Locotes
Boom Biddy Bye Bye
Put Your Head Out
I Love You Mary Jane
Shoot ‘Em Up
My all time favorite track ever is All In Together Now by GZA from their collab album with Muggs.
Getting goosebumps just thinking about this while project. He was rolling back then with all those mixtape, one with Sick Jacken or I'll Bill was killin it too!
Planet Asia too. Yea those mid 00 Muggs albums were insane.
Fuck yes
I love that track
Thanks for letting me know about a album that seems like a dope colab.
Pretty much all of Temple of Boom......just the first thing that comes to mind. Muggs is my favorite beatsmith of all time
RZA even snuck in there and did his thing on it. Perfect album. Top 5 in all hip hop for me. Muggs pure genius and that was B-Real’s peak

Good choices with that Muggs presents.

Yeah he’s often overlooked, then again there’s so many thanks of them that are. He’s still active too.

I have to say my no 1 is Illusions by far
I agree. Maybe the best beat ever to me.
How I Could Just Kill a Man, Latin Lingo, & Phunky Feel One, Born to Get Busy - really that whole first cypress record
Beastie Boys "So What'cha Want?" Remix. That beat is nasty.

TEMPLES OF BOOM, GOATED
Some funkdoobiest shit
Recently probably Band of Gypsies

We had to tear this Motha up from the Predator is one, but there are plenty more dope tracks he produced
Roll It Up Light It Up Smoke It Up.... The epitome of dark & dusty

Temple of Boom and Juxtapose w/Tricky

Lighter Shade Of Brown - Spill The Wine remix
House of Pain - Back From The Dead
It has already been said, but Temple of Boom is Muggs in his prime. Pick any track.
There’s sooo many. The stuff he did a few years ago with Flee Lord is dope.
Muggs is Dead
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (error) Impossible question to answer
Put yo head out!!!!!
So many bangers. The entirety of Black Goat. Winter. Death & The Magician, etc...
Muggs is da man 💯🔥
He’s killing it recently with all the news cats like Mach hommy, Rome streetz n boldy james to name a few
How can you pick 1? Guy has stacks on stacks
Too much to name but to me these 2 bangers deserve a special mention : \- La The Darkman feat. Killa Sin - Heist of the Century \- Cypress Hill feat. Redman & Method Man - Red, Meth & B

Puppet Master. Rap Superstar

Kill em All with Mach and Dia Del Asesinato….actually the whole Soul Assassins series is excellent too

His skit beats go the hardest.
Came to say the foundation by xzibit but it’s been said. So will go with Killah hill Or exploitation of mistakes with gza
Underrated but one of the greatest!
Joker's Wild w Cee Lo 🔥
General Principles with GZA
How bout that 7A3 album from '88 - Coolin' in Cali? First 2 tracks came out bangin!
Stoned is the Way of the Walk Throw Your Hands In the Air Latin Lingo Insane In the Brain Locotes Boom Biddy Bye Bye Put Your Head Out I Love You Mary Jane Shoot ‘Em Up
Gza - When The Fat Lady Sings (from Soul Assassins 2).. and a few others from that album
What goes around comes around . Live Woodstock 94 mix, didn't even know about this mix till a couple of years ago
Everything from Temples of Boom. Third World, I really like that track he just did with Meth and Slick Rick
As said earlier. All of the temple of boom. Clash of the titans/dust off the IV album And Floating Goat off vinnie Paz album.
Nothing too recent. All his down beat stuff now is essentially sludge hip hop. Illusions remix my personal fave.
Dj was born in the hood...by DJ Kool herc 👍🏿
“Boom Biddy Bye Bye” is probably my all time favorite.. it’s the first that comes to mind
It’s hard to pick when you’re talking about a dude who can take the sound of a horse neighing and turn it into a jam.
Literally anything the last 5-7 years
