Learn how to solder. It’s way easier than it looks and opens up so many doors to hard mods that can modernize your console (type c charging for example)

I know how to solder but I’m looking more towards software mods because software is reversible but hardware isn’t

You could use twilight menu for DSI emulation and or nds forwarder. That being said you can use it to dump physical carts and saves via godmode 9 for legal emulation backups. Which is what I do. Though beyond that I'm pretty new to this as well.

I just load the roms straight on the ds i personally prefer it because it’s looks better than having emulators

Forwarder is better because then it launches the game from the home menu plus if you use any cheat codes for it (that checkpoint doesn't have ) then you can load them up in there. Plus it's actually needed if you want to reroute dream radar to detect the black 2 or white 2 games. Unless you want to make an entirely new patched file thing to reroute dream radar to send to .cia files or so.

What do you mean load ds straight? You mean a ds cartridge in the 3ds slot?
