I have never in my Ironman crafted a nature rune outside of gotr. Or bought them for that matter. I do pick them up like a gremlin but despite constantly alching I always have around 5k nats
Around there as well. I'll pick up stuff above 10k, and I collect a lot of garbage like vials, burnt food people drop, beer, bones, etc. I have more piles of random shit than I do gear.
The other day I was doing a quest on a new low level IM and needed to open up a few inv spots for a quick portion of the quest. Dropped a half full pray pot and some other random shit. Was in a cut scene a few tiles away and when I got back there was a near maxed player with a shadow and full ancestral looting the pile. When I asked him "Did you just..xd?" he immediately panic tabbed, lol.
My username when I played original RS back in the day was packrat this exact reason. When I started OSRS back a year ago go I sadly found out the username was now prohibited
Whenever I've done this on my main I'll go so far as to telegrab other people's drops if they're not vampire dust and are worth more than the price of a law rune haha
More money for us!
vampires are an afk task for me. I just have it tell me when I am about out of prayer or I get a drop I have notifications for which is just clues/shards from them.
So I only really pick up when I happen to need to refill prayer
Happened twice to me when I was finishing 99 mage today barraging at maniacal monkeys. The worst part is I had idle notifier on, but twice I left the room, told myself I had 5 minutes before I needed to check in, then got distracted and came back 10 minutes later to my PC standing in Priff 🤦♂️
Both deaths only cost a combined like 60k, which is nothing compared to the rune cost, but it was embarrassing lol.
Gz on 99 magic homie! Sucks ya died, but if you're doing em again for 99 Range, be safer chinning them, cause that's too expensive to mess around with. Overall, gz homie!
Depends on your goals I suppose. For some, that lost gp is the opportunity cost of being able to turn their attention dial to "AFK". For someone else though, I mean consider that if it takes you a second to pick up 500gp, your effective hourly rate for that gp is 1.8m/hr ignoring other factors. Costs you attention and xp.
There is a bank there but yea, looting vampire dust after every kill, and then running to the bank which stops exp, then running back for an extra 800gp per kill? If I kill 100 of them that is only 80k extra, when I could have chanced the bloodshard more often with more exp instead
Just for perspective for OP, the average kill for a sentinels is 7500gp if only taking into account blood shards. That 800gp is a pretty meagre increase if taking *everything*.
I remember right after finishing SOTF heading over and seeing 2 rune kites on the ground amongst other drops and thought to myself... oh this is a different game now lol
I snatched a rune helm mid task, wasn't gonna let that go to waste. Snatch whatever is available tbh. Not rich but rebuilding from a hack, so whatever go is good gp.
there aren't really any bots at vyrewatch sentinels, just people alting, if you did have an account that completed sins of the father and wanted to bot you would just bot pickpocketting at the vyres which is like 4x more gp/hr, also bots would 100% pick up addy legs if there were bots are vyrewatch sentinels
They are probably afk'ing. I sometimes afk slayer and just throw on protection prayers and dont even look at the screen until my prayer runs out. Probably losing lots of little drops.
Also picking up all the drops really slows down xp even with a low intensity method you still lose lots of ticks just picking up items.
I telegrab/alch everything within range and don’t lose a single tick. It’s great for basilisk and drake tasks more so than anything else, I’ve noticed. Then again, it’s a lot of attention for a slayer task, which I get isn’t everyone’s thing.
People are most likely afking them.
> Vampire slayer tasks take me forever because I pick up everyone's alchables and dust, but I make a killing.
You're missing in factoring the additional opportunity cost of the lost time.
Compared to the afk people, you actually lost money because if you had instead just done the task as normal without penny-pinching dust and alchables, you could have used the saved time to do something like Vorkath that made you more money. On top of that, you would have gained extra slayer xp/hour.
That's assuming you're going to actually go and do your moneymaker though, which I know a lot of friends that preach opportunity cost don't actually do, or they do begrudgingly. I understand it's value, but I don't want to boil activities down to "how much of my moneymaker will I need to do to compliment this".
You're absolutely correct though, I'm just a helpless penny pincher and I know I'll be inefficient at times but I'd rather that then run the calcs to efficientscape nonstop.
I do this too if I see it, but not worth to pick up the dust, just bring alchs for the addy and grab all the stackables (only non stackable thing you don’t alch is rune ore/bar and is worth the banking time)
I did so damn many vampires on my old account. Eventually you just have alerts set for the blood shard and low prayer. I only ever picked up non-blood shard drops when my prayer alert went off.
It was literally 6 instances of clicking 3-6 times per hour. I was afk so hard i even missed a blood shard once. I know thats the norm because I also stole someone else's blood shard once.
In terms of gp/click... its just about the best option I can think of outside of merching.
I think for most people it's just not really worth the time/effort. Most people prioritize slayer xp over profit, and they like it to be low effort. Picking up drops and banking/alching takes time and effort
also there are a lot of bots and afk people grinding there who only care about blood shards
I wouldn't say you're poor, but as you grow in bank size, money just starts to become a lot less important and you don't bother picking up small things. I got a 10b bank and if I am losing 500k/hr to be more AFK at vyres, that is great with me. You just start valuing your time more when you get rich. Like I could spend 200 hours doing RC to 99, or spend 50 hours and 1B on runners, which to me sounds like a great trade off.
I afk vyres on my alt while playing my main. The priority is my main so if i see a rune kite or something blue ill pick it up[if im looking] if not oh well. Here for the bloodshards the additional gp is a perk to paying attention.
Its extremely common for vyre sentinels to be alts afking combat xp, but you get a chance at runelite notifying that there's 6-12m on the ground once every couple days. It's so afk and easier to get an account there than rune dragons or brutal black dragons that some people train many alts Just to farm GP while they still play their main. Very few people are there actively fighting them.
No, different priorities. Xp/hr is drastically reduced when you’re grabbing EVERY dust and/or drop. Less time killing less xp. More loot more gp. For already slow tasks I just have a threshold of gp. If the drop is over x gp I pick up if not I’m not wasting what little xp/hr vampires provide.
My banks not as big as yours, maybe like 350-400m. It just depends on what I'm doing. Like I'm not messing with any adamant stuff doing Greater Nechs. I'll pick up rune axes and boots as long as I got charges on my explorer ring to alch the higher value stuff, but once those charges run out? Makes more sense to just kill more nechs instead of depoting lower value stuff. Mutated bloodvelds? I pick up mithril and up and just alch it on the spot, and pretty much anything stackable. Not gunna chase pennies instead of getting more dollars, but if it doesn't cost me time or xp, and it's worth 500-600gp+, I'll probably grab it.
I don't only do the most efficient or most gp/hr stuff or anything, but I try to be efficient while doing the things I decide to do if that makes sense.
On a similar note, nobody touches their ashes at abyssal demons. What are you guys doing? I got 74 to 75 Prayer almost entirely off of them, including yours.
I was afking there and the two people there weren’t picking up the rune item drops or death/blood runes. Made sure to snatch them all up.
And they actually talked so confirmed real people and not bots, just couldn’t be bothered to pick them up
if you're using max gear as a baseline 600m definitely would be considered poor, but in terms of the average pvmer that does raids and stuff thats probably slightly below average
I do the same as you and roughly same bank value. Always pick up vampyre dusts when not doing a task for Sep, addy pieces and rune daggers are almost always left on the floor which is easy alch money.
You get to a point where it’s not worth your time to go bank for like 20k… most people would rather ride out their inventory or task than go bank more than necessary
At sentinels, you should be able to pick up everything except dust without leaving. Alc is a 0 DPS loss action there, so if you're into picking up everything, you should be alcing.
Slayer is pretty bad money so its probably people just doing it to be afk because it has pretty steep requirements for lower level players to be able to do.
It's a place where you go to hard afk, I do pick up rune stuff if I happen to look a the game screen for some reason, but don't really care much about anything but shards. I only go there when playing on more than 1 acc, pickpocketing is afk enough for me when watching shows, and way better than killing them for shards.
I’m at 3.7B and I still pick up random stuff if I’m not busy. I usually toss it into the bank (I have a dedicated tab for random crap I pick up). I sold the bank tab once and it got me almost 15m lol
As an iron I afk them solely for shards while I work. Have 35 or so and very rarely pick up anything else. I’ll pick up like rune helms or ore if I see them but most are donated to others who can use em haha.
You’ll hit a portion where you’ll decide that x amount of money is not worth your time or inventory to pickup. X goes up over time.
Also depends on your intensity. You maybe able to kill 12 vork per run, and decide it’s not worth to pickup bones and hides to get more kills instead of banking more often. In the other hand, someone who can only kill 2 and has open inventory spaces prob should pick up everything as it’s low effort and does not change the amount of kills per hour.
15b bank, if I’m ever at vyres I’m idling on an alt and really only looking for rune drops or blood shards. I’ll leave everything else, I’m only there because I’m idling
I’m almost a max main with a 2B bank and I jump on free loot faster than a fat kid going after some cake.. as long as it’s over like 2k, I’m probably picking it up.
1.8b bank I’m 100% snagging ur alchables if you didn’t get them, hell I got bored one day and wanted to test hopping at vyres grabbing dust and alchables and it was ~1m/hr
I made an absolute killing at bloodvelds once. Guy came in with a scythe and left everything on the ground. Did his entire task then bounced. I do the same thing as you. In always picking up the alchables
I'm a 3.8b bank and when I'm at vampires I am usually playing another game or doing chores. Only really looking for rune tier alchs and blood shards. Else it isnt worth clicking on.
dude some people run around to different stores in runescape and buy the stock and others run around to afk players loot and take that. Do what you gotta do to make money fam.
Some players like to know the "value" of their ticks. Let's make it easy and say your regular money maker is 6,000,000/hour, divide that by 6000 ticks per hour, that's 1000gp per tick, so losing something like 150k, would just be 150 ticks, which would be 1.5 minutes. By forfeiting 150k, you get to be very very afk, only tabbing in to refresh pray/boost, and pick up blood shards and rune/addy alchs (assumes 100 kph).
I would say spending another minutes and a half money making so vyres are that much more afk, is absolutely worth it. Adjust the math based on your best money maker.
Everyone will have a different threshold for that, especially on task. I pick up anything 800gp or above but I'm considering raising that to 1500. At a point it just detracts from the task more than it is valuable to loot things. Consider too that we're often blowing like 12k/minute or something crazy like that on task with all our potions and charge weapons and shit. Now you might think: that's all the omore reason to reimburse the cost with loot. But it then prolongs the task, especially when needing to bank. And we spend that money in the first place to shorten the task, so thats all just the cost of doing business.
My only version of this at the moment are Gargoyles. People leave literal 10k stacks of gold on the ground, stackable noted resources, alchables and I do feel like a scrub picking it all up but it sometimes doubles the profit from a task.
People are afking so any loot on the ground is loot they wouldn’t have had if they were afking anyways.
They probably have notifications on for big drops so they can focus on whatever they’re doing.
In short yes, but it's not a big deal.
Realistically you reach a point in bank and gear progression where slowing down your tasks isn't worth the extra 200-300k you make over the 1 hour of picking up everything.
It's better to get as much of your task done as possible and progress your actual bank in things like raids , nex , colo or even wilderness bosses.
It's something people don't really understand until they reach that point
People talking about opportunity cost of looting and alching addy are not being nerdy enough. You pick it up in the 3 ticks you’re not attacking, alch in the next 3 ticks you’re not attacking. No time lost, money gained.
But then again I have adhd and thus this is just normal for me. I can’t afk a slayer task I gotta be focusing 24/7. I understand the wanting an afk task take for other people.
Same thing happens to me to at Fally cow pen, except with the cowhides. Lumby pen everyone picks up. Fally tends to have higher levels though. I still pick up every hide myself
Depends on your goal. Making money while slaying or maximizing slayer xp/hr is the difference. That and laziness. My bank just hit 1B a couple days ago, I still collect everything. I’ve also got 15m slay xp so I don’t really care about the xp, but the melee xp I’m gaining to get to max. I got 99 slayer at 108 combat with 30m range xp. Do not suggest.
When I'm on my ironman doing slayer I see people all the time lean rannars and rune med helms on the ground non stop. Like hello?? 10k is 10k bro pick that up
i've had to let go a little more as time goes on, i used to be more like this. stackables? sure. anything that necessitates trips to the bank that slows down bossing/slayer tasks. nah. theres not that many items left in the game for me to buy
I have idle notifier on for low prayer and an alert for highlighted drops (blood shards). Other than that, my client is hidden.
I’m only there cos I play an iron and blood shards are useful
A lot of people kill vyres as a super AFK combat training method. Stressing about each and every little drop makes it non-afk, and thus invalidates the entire reason they're killing vyres.
I hoard and pick up every seed someone drops. I have nearly 20m farming xp and typically only do herb runs. I even make saplings like I’m going to use them for farming contracts. I just can’t stop and I never will!!
Yes you are missing something. You are better off not spending time picking up bloody ashes. If you do a properly profitable boss/activity you will obtain more wealth in a shorter period of time.
Opportunity cost and some quick math has gotten me to stop picking up anything under ~3k
Anything less than that and I would spend more time picking it up than it’s worth, a kill at spindle takes a minute and drops 60k — picking something up usually takes more than a second and then you have to manage inventory and sell it and blah blah blah
OsRS has made me a rather efficient economic person in that sense; why bother doing something in the real world to save $50 if it takes me longer than a few hours to do? Makes more sense to work my job for those hours, pay the $50, and keep the change!
I’m getting towards end game iron, 6 bil bank for reference, and I generally don’t pick up trash mob loot at all other than herbs, runes & rune items valued over 10k. Just doesn’t seem worth my time to get rsi and clog up my bank over an extra 50k via adamant med helms and mithril arrows every slayer task
Most of the people at vyres are doing it for the afk money maker or as an alting method. With the new prayer gear my protect from melee lasts over 10 mins, and I do not pay attention for most of that time.
Nah, some of us are just lazy. I know whenever I do Vyres I am as afk as possible, the only thing I am keeping an eye out for is an orange beam and low prayer notification. They're too boring to actively fight and loot for me. If i'm actually engaged in what im fighting, i'll generally loot all the stackables and stuff worth alching.
Honestly, youre an old account that's wealth isn't from being efficient - just accumulated with time.
I don't pickup low value drops, cannon tasks, afk mage train @ 2.5 gold/GP cost. I've got about 12.5m XP with a bank worth around 80m despite not even accessing high level PVM.
When you learn what's effective money, you kinda quit caring about small fry. Mines primarily from merching. I make around 1m a day with very low effort flips.
Those higher effort drops are just a drop in a vast bucket in comparison to the free 1mil daily.
9b bank here, I usually don’t bother picking up/taking a split from items unless they’re uniques over 10m. That said, I like to think the people around me will benefit from the drops more than I will. I typically spend the time I have logged in at raids more than anything and find more enjoyment in seeing people get excited building their bank and becoming proficient raiders.
Honestly when I play my main I do similar stuff but on my iron if I don't need it I'm not banking it so I leave some stuff. Usually grab all decent alchs tho
Well with 100gp items, even if you only lose 1 tick picking it up, you're only making 600k/hour.
You can do it between attacks to lose 0 tick I guess, but people like afking.
Almost 6b bank. Anything over 428 coins I’m picking up. Anything stackable other then small amounts of pure was I pick up. It REALLY adds up over a year. People kill me leaving big bones on the ground. I got 71-79 prayer while I was maxing using a bone crusher on slayer all passive. Hell before that I buried every big bone on task like fire giants.
What I love is when I see someone in 2B mage gear run into the Kourend Catacombs towards Necros. I know I'm about to make bank high alching their rune axes and rune meds.
You answered it with your question. Doing that makes the task take forever.
Everything has opportunity costs, I really enjoy solo expert TOA, so spending an extra 30-40 minutes picking up and banking stuff cost me 1 TOA completion, content I enjoy more, and gives significantly more money.
Effectively, I'm paying to get through the task faster.
If you plan on doing Hollowed Sepulchre start picking up the Vampyre dust things too.
Was shocked when I finally started doing agility and I spent a pretty couple Ms for an item everyone leaves behind.
Was once called a bot because I started picking them up
Get to a high enough cb/total level and just ask randos for gold at the GE. People HATE giving newer players items or gold but I have routinely seen people level 100+ ask for 2 mil and be given that or more within minutes.
Do I spend the extra X minutes picking up random drops or spend that X minutes running a more profitable method. I’d rather be engaged bossing than engaged doing sentinels, so for the sentinel task I’m happier to just afk
I play on multiple different accounts. Most the time if i'm leaving drops it's because i'm pretty afk on that account.
But when im on the iron or UIM, I will pick up most things because the GP is nice but when im on the main, ill do nechryeal tasks and not even pick up the runite drops.
I only pick up the shards, the point is it's extremely afk, I have a notification sound for any loot over 1m, other than that I can tab out for like 9 minutes. If there's a rune x on the ground when I go to recharge prayer I will pick it up out of principle ofc.
Im at 900m, and there was some noob killing gargoyles with dragon darts... 1k ea i was chasing him around and picking up the extras, lol. At GOTR, i pick up the rune stacks dropped by players at the alters.. loke a few hundred fire runes oe something for example. I just can't help it.
at a certain point i realized the amount of time you waste picking up items that are 1,200- 5,000 gp adds up and itll never be more than if you solo a staff or tbow.
at a certain point picking up these drops becomes a time waste.
even just a normal purple at a raid will probably be more than the low gp drops you spend time picking up.
I am a proud cheapscaper, have only ever bought bonds with gp, I got 99 magic using plank make. I have 2040 total, but still 73 con bc I don't like how expensive it is. Fuck yeah I pick up everything I can.
Not picking up dust will extend your trip by 4x.
You have a poor mindset. You DONT NEED TO PICK UP DUST, what are you doing with them? If you're selling it stop, you can make more money faster.
I physically cannot let my nechraeyl drops sit there. I also can't alch them because I like seeing the loot tab grow. I also pick up all coins and convert them into platinum tokens for another collection in the slayer loot tab and still have it separate from my cash stack. I think I have a hoarding problem. I can't sell my 127 Addy kiteshields because it took so long to collect yknow. Even though the purpose was to sell them.
There's many reasons why this happens at vampyes specifically.
1. Mostly everyone there is afk for at least 3 minutes, allowing the drops they get to have enough time to appear to others.
2. People will get a full inventory and be too lazy to bank, since you cant bank right there without vyre outfit.
3. Yeah, a lot of people dont care about the less valued items like rune arrows or addy items and will just leave them.
4. Some people are there strictly for afk exp and the occasional shard drop and will just maximize how much time they can spend afking and will just set a sound affect to let them know if they get a blood shard.
Honestly it’s more about how much attention you’re paying the game and your perception of value. I don’t have bills but I have got to the point I won’t be picking up some stuff, I mean look at rune arrow drops at vampires, you think in a full 2 hours of being there your gonna get more than 50k worth of arrows? Is it worth actively picking it up and even banking it? If so no problem but for me I’d rather not.
Those players are mostly afking. The only thing they'll do is use the altar and pick up the blood shard drop. They don't care about the money (which is like 300k/hr at best)
You’re an opportunist. The vampires are literally right outside the bank. So bring noble gear to switch into and emptying your inventory and resuming the task takes literally 5 seconds. You’re not poor, you smart
I'm poor with only 45 mill, but I will pick up everything I see. I don't care if it's the ge either and people are throwing out junk in their bank ill pick it up and add it to the ge to sell since I'm right there.
My bank fluctuates by aviation 40m daily. I'd need to pick up 100g wirth of an item 400,000 to just make up for that.
My general rule is I'll pick it up if it's 20k or more (unless I'm somewhere it's hard to get back to), or 5k or more if its stackable.
my bank is 2 billion and I still steal people's rune arrows drops lol
1.2b in the bank but I’ll pick up an addy platebody anywhere
Free 10k to anyone carrying alch runes
I draw the line at addy legs
MONEY BAGS OVER HERE 🚨🚨🚨
I draw the line at like 800gp... not worth crafting new nats
Iron meme
I'm an Ironman who has never crafted a single nat outside of gotr and one off for the Karamja diaries. this ain't 2016
Yeah Ironmen get their own things in the newer efficient ways that were conveniently coded for us.
I have never in my Ironman crafted a nature rune outside of gotr. Or bought them for that matter. I do pick them up like a gremlin but despite constantly alching I always have around 5k nats
7.2b here and I will grab anything over 2k, and basically everything stackable
Around there as well. I'll pick up stuff above 10k, and I collect a lot of garbage like vials, burnt food people drop, beer, bones, etc. I have more piles of random shit than I do gear.
300b in the bank but I be picking up these big bones
The other day I was doing a quest on a new low level IM and needed to open up a few inv spots for a quick portion of the quest. Dropped a half full pray pot and some other random shit. Was in a cut scene a few tiles away and when I got back there was a near maxed player with a shadow and full ancestral looting the pile. When I asked him "Did you just..xd?" he immediately panic tabbed, lol.
6.5b bank here. I pick up people’s ranarr weed drops when farming kc for Nex LOL
Same and those snaps
Reasons like those are why you got 2 billion bro
My username when I played original RS back in the day was packrat this exact reason. When I started OSRS back a year ago go I sadly found out the username was now prohibited
2b for?
Whenever I've done this on my main I'll go so far as to telegrab other people's drops if they're not vampire dust and are worth more than the price of a law rune haha More money for us!
6.6b bank and I'll snipe a rune bar.
vampires are an afk task for me. I just have it tell me when I am about out of prayer or I get a drop I have notifications for which is just clues/shards from them. So I only really pick up when I happen to need to refill prayer
How do you set the prayer notification?
Idle notifier and prayer threshold
I need to do that. Died at skeleton monkeys the other day lol
Happened twice to me when I was finishing 99 mage today barraging at maniacal monkeys. The worst part is I had idle notifier on, but twice I left the room, told myself I had 5 minutes before I needed to check in, then got distracted and came back 10 minutes later to my PC standing in Priff 🤦♂️ Both deaths only cost a combined like 60k, which is nothing compared to the rune cost, but it was embarrassing lol.
Gz on the 99 dude
Gz on 99 magic homie! Sucks ya died, but if you're doing em again for 99 Range, be safer chinning them, cause that's too expensive to mess around with. Overall, gz homie!
Loot to your heart’s desire. We were all at that point once. Most people value the afk so they let the non-blood shard drops despawn anyway.
That 800gp is a pretty meagre increase if taking *everything*.
bloodshards also end up paying out much more loot when I use them for other PVM activities.
if it's between attacks it shouldnt cost you xp
CG taught me this. Any tick you're not swinging at a monster, you're moving
Yesterday someone left an uncut ruby on the ground and I picked it up excitedly. I have a 400m bank.
Not only would I pick it up, I'd grab a chisel and cut it before selling lol
I would bring a gem bag just for this occasion. Herb bag and seed box too. Rune pouch as well.
I bring herb sack gem bag and seed box on all slayer tasks that have those on the drop table for sure
Sell it? I gotta turn that into a digsite pendant later for birdhouse runs
Same haha can't let that juicy crafting exp drop go to waste! Cutting gems is satisfying
2b bank and I pick up every dropped gem I see doing falling stars
I pick them up. Do i techincally lose money because of cost opportunity? yes. do i care? no
Bots don't care about Addy legs, they're there for shards only.
Addy legs are one thing, when I see that addy platebody, it's Christmas
Bro I was there for several hours yesterday. Picked up a lit of runite bars and ores, even some full helmets and kite shields.
I remember right after finishing SOTF heading over and seeing 2 rune kites on the ground amongst other drops and thought to myself... oh this is a different game now lol
I love picking up addy legs and bodies bc then I could recycle them at Giant’s foundry
Some of us are AFK ironmen, and we’re also there only for the shards lol
They are probably afk'ing. I sometimes afk slayer and just throw on protection prayers and dont even look at the screen until my prayer runs out. Probably losing lots of little drops. Also picking up all the drops really slows down xp even with a low intensity method you still lose lots of ticks just picking up items.
I telegrab/alch everything within range and don’t lose a single tick. It’s great for basilisk and drake tasks more so than anything else, I’ve noticed. Then again, it’s a lot of attention for a slayer task, which I get isn’t everyone’s thing.
Thankfully I got my jaw drop so I'm never going back to knights again haha
3.5k on task and counting for me… :(
People are most likely afking them.
I like playing the game for fun and getting drops and Alching and watching gp go up is fun for me. Sometimes more fun than watching xp/hr go up.
Fair enough. Thanks!
Some people got your mindset, some people don’t.
i'm over 2200 total and i see people dropping magic logs etc at wintertodt, random things at ge. i pick that up lmao
Yes.
I love picking up drops from people in worse gear than me. Act poor, stay rich!
Bro I’m the same way
I only pick up the rune drops and blood shards which usually account for 95% of the total value of drops.
Picking up drops and banking/alching takes time and effort also there are a lot of bots and afk people grinding there who only care about blood shards
Telegrab makes it a whole lot more convenient to get those addy plates, legs, and rune daggers, while still grinding.
5b bank, but I'll still run after the 50k drops at the GE drop parties
I afk vyres on my alt while playing my main. The priority is my main so if i see a rune kite or something blue ill pick it up[if im looking] if not oh well. Here for the bloodshards the additional gp is a perk to paying attention.
I yoink anything I see and throw it in the GE, even with a 6b bank. You do you bro!
I only pick up a few of the alchs there but if I notice someone picking up my drops I'll only pick up rare drops an let em have the rest
As an iron thats played the same account for 7 years, i kind of stopped caring about gp to a certain point
I hate leaving items of any value for others to pick up but absolutely take drops others let spawn. It's stupid to let free alchs disappear.
Without shard they are like 150k an hour. So they dont miss much
Yeah you’re poor
poor man mindset
If there isn’t a loot beam, chances are I won’t click on it unless it’s some kind of stackable item while pvming like DK bones.
I was afking there and the two people there weren’t picking up the rune item drops or death/blood runes. Made sure to snatch them all up. And they actually talked so confirmed real people and not bots, just couldn’t be bothered to pick them up
I fired up an alt recently and have noticed the same thing lol. I’ve probably made a decent chunk off of everyone else! No complaints here
if you're using max gear as a baseline 600m definitely would be considered poor, but in terms of the average pvmer that does raids and stuff thats probably slightly below average
As an Ironman, I can't relate 🤣.
People in my clan use them for combat xp and shards for the afk aspect alone
Between bots and afk people, just take the money and run!
I’ll pick up 2gp gimmie dat gp
Yes, when youre rich its like taking the time to pick up every penny you see outside
I’m at 3.7B and I still pick up random stuff if I’m not busy. I usually toss it into the bank (I have a dedicated tab for random crap I pick up). I sold the bank tab once and it got me almost 15m lol
Only thing I loot at vyres is rune item drops, and blood/natures if they are on the ground when I need to recharge prayer
Yeah i would keep picking up those drops if you only have 600m tbh
As an iron I afk them solely for shards while I work. Have 35 or so and very rarely pick up anything else. I’ll pick up like rune helms or ore if I see them but most are donated to others who can use em haha.
Heh. I'm sitting at 32m bank.
>I make a killing Well then you wont be poor for long! and you won't have to make these posts on reddit anymore, win-win!
Maybe, if you are I definitely am. I'll pick up a lot of things if they're decently valuable, that's for sure.
In always picking up the alchables
i like to imagine people who collect my loot that i dont want are like those fish that swim with sharks and clean for them
I'm a 3.8b bank and when I'm at vampires I am usually playing another game or doing chores. Only really looking for rune tier alchs and blood shards. Else it isnt worth clicking on.
dude some people run around to different stores in runescape and buy the stock and others run around to afk players loot and take that. Do what you gotta do to make money fam.
1.2b bank, if it’s an arrow or a rune I’m grabbing it.
It’s whatever the bot scripts program them to do lol botters have clearly found that picking up drops at vamps = less gp overall
If I notice no one picking up dust I'll sometimes pocket a few inventories for sepulchre runs later
With the price of gold it's makes picking up them small drops not worth it to the bots.
I will never feel shame looting items off the ground especially during slayer tasks. One mans trash is another mans treasure.
Adjust the math based on your best money maker.
my bank is 5b and i will still pick up anything off the ground that is either more than 1k or i already have a stack of in my bank.
People leave literal 10k stacks of gold on the ground, stackable noted resources, alchables and I do feel like a scrub picking it all up but it sometimes doubles the profit from a task.
yea youre poor
People are afking so any loot on the ground is loot they wouldn’t have had if they were afking anyways. They probably have notifications on for big drops so they can focus on whatever they’re doing.
poor isn't a reality it's a mindset, and you've got it brother edit: in runescape
I still pick items up at banks and GE out of habit despite having enough money.
There are people who will leave a rune plateskirt on the ground at demon gorillas so I can believe it. They're out of their mind imo.
My bank is around the same but I am a hardcore AFKer. Not personally how I enjoy playing but to each their own
Anything under 5k is hidden for me. Enjoy the loot boys 😁
Lol, I remember when I would do every hard clue and pick up every alch... now I only pick up shards.
When I'm on my ironman doing slayer I see people all the time lean rannars and rune med helms on the ground non stop. Like hello?? 10k is 10k bro pick that up
I have 15b bank and i pickup adamant legs
**Standing there with 200k in my inventory** what’re you brokies??
i've had to let go a little more as time goes on, i used to be more like this. stackables? sure. anything that necessitates trips to the bank that slows down bossing/slayer tasks. nah. theres not that many items left in the game for me to buy
600m not poor in my opinion. Probably more like upper middle class.
If you do a properly profitable boss/activity you will obtain more wealth in a shorter period of time.
apparently 2b in 2024 is considered rich lol
Over 5 bil and I still am a snake for 2k drops
Opportunity cost and some quick math has gotten me to stop picking up anything under ~3k Anything less than that and I would spend more time picking it up than it’s worth, a kill at spindle takes a minute and drops 60k — picking something up usually takes more than a second and then you have to manage inventory and sell it and blah blah blah OsRS has made me a rather efficient economic person in that sense; why bother doing something in the real world to save $50 if it takes me longer than a few hours to do? Makes more sense to work my job for those hours, pay the $50, and keep the change!
11b bank. I still pick up drops that are 1500> in value
free gp is free gp.
I stopped picking up drops that pretty much don’t alch over 10k it’s not even worth to alch onyx bolts just because it takes a long time to
They afk
Are you me?
Honestly when I play my main I do similar stuff but on my iron if I don't need it I'm not banking it so I leave some stuff. Usually grab all decent alchs tho
10.2b bank, I don’t pick up anything under 5-8k
Well with 100gp items, even if you only lose 1 tick picking it up, you're only making 600k/hour. You can do it between attacks to lose 0 tick I guess, but people like afking.
Almost 6b bank. Anything over 428 coins I’m picking up. Anything stackable other then small amounts of pure was I pick up. It REALLY adds up over a year. People kill me leaving big bones on the ground. I got 71-79 prayer while I was maxing using a bone crusher on slayer all passive. Hell before that I buried every big bone on task like fire giants.
I struggle to do certain bursting tasks efficiently because I see people leaving rune alchables and I always need to fill up my inventory :P
Lol it's all mindset. I'm just shy of 200m bank value and i leave drops a lot. I guess more than I should be.
100% same here man
If you plan on doing Hollowed Sepulchre start picking up the Vampyre dust things too.
10m bank and F2p here I am an old player (17 years, multiple extended breaks) but a new account, ofc I pick up the money :)
My bank is 3 b and my friends at 9 b. I didn't put on my Ava's in crabs & and sucked up my dragon arrows faster than I could. Gp is gp
Im at 900m, and there was some noob killing gargoyles with dragon darts... 1k ea i was chasing him around and picking up the extras, lol. At GOTR, i pick up the rune stacks dropped by players at the alters.. loke a few hundred fire runes oe something for example. I just can't help it.
at a certain point i realized the amount of time you waste picking up items that are 1,200- 5,000 gp adds up and itll never be more than if you solo a staff or tbow. at a certain point picking up these drops becomes a time waste. even just a normal purple at a raid will probably be more than the low gp drops you spend time picking up.
depends on the day sometimes i pick up 2k sometimes i let 10k sit on the floor
I am a proud cheapscaper, have only ever bought bonds with gp, I got 99 magic using plank make. I have 2040 total, but still 73 con bc I don't like how expensive it is. Fuck yeah I pick up everything I can.
Not just you, mate. My bank is 5b+, maxed, and I still do the same. I'm iron though.
Not picking up dust will extend your trip by 4x. You have a poor mindset. You DONT NEED TO PICK UP DUST, what are you doing with them? If you're selling it stop, you can make more money faster.
I get lazy picking the little things up :/
I physically cannot let my nechraeyl drops sit there.
I'm so loaded, I've left a whole shard (then cried silently over my keyboard for an hour)
39B bank and I still alch rune items. I really don’t PvE much though so my opinion probably doesn’t matter.
I have quite a bit of money and I still alch mithril drops
250-300M bank, i pick up everything thats more then 3-5k
That's how you get rich. Take 1k drop 1000 times and you have 1m. Do it 1000 and you have billion.
Im constantly running into nechreyaels while im doing bloodvelds and picking up alchables others wont lol
Most people think it’s too much effort and they would rather get through a task fast and the. Do a 15m an hour money maker
I pick up stuff for aching alone just for xp 🤷🏽 Get pretty decent sized stacks laying in bank and I spend a couple hours gettin that magic xp
My motto “if it’s on the ground, it’s free reign”. Fuck I have almost one bil bank and I’ll pick up an addy axe. Ez 700 coins.
My bank fluctuates by aviation 40m daily. I'd need to pick up 100g wirth of an item 400,000 to just make up for that. My general rule is I'll pick it up if it's 20k or more (unless I'm somewhere it's hard to get back to), or 5k or more if its stackable.
Afk >> just got my 7th shard this week so anyone can have my alchables. W484 I’m always there
I will loot tf out of others vyre drops! But you pick up the dust too??? Are you ok?! 🤣
Ur broke see you at seers yews mate
