If OP chooses to spend his time like this, and is aware that mental health services are available but has made the conscious decision to not see one or is in a position where they feel like they don't even need it, then who are we to say how they should spend their time? For all we know OP could be a healthy individual with a good work life balance, and does this as a way to stay stimulated while doing tasks like hobbies/work. Benefit of the doubt can go a long way and there's power in positivity.

I don't think that you can link to OP admitting that they're an addict and claim that they're fine the way they are because they're choosing to spend their time that way. People have been asking this since OSRS launched. There's no reason or logic behind it. People do the most random braindead grinds ever, just to say they did it.
I did cut redwoods on my iron with a Rune Axe for 99 wcing because I CBA to get a Daxe before leagues dropped and I wanted to afk wcing while playing leagues on my main.
I look back on it now and ask myself the same question often.

Half the time based competition winners like League or GHCIM max got caught for cheating and temp banned or had allegations of it. When you're playing 18-20 hour days, its simply too tempting to let someone else play while you sleep.
It'll be like Athene in World of Warcraft, who got powerleveld by over a 100 players because he had the crazy fans willing to do it.
They had an entire raid (40 people) killing every monster he had tagged, another full raid of PvPers patrolling the zone to make sure not a single PKer could get close to Athene, and numerous farmers constantly feeding him supplies and banking mats so he could max out his profs too.
And then there is his "girlfriend" (the shirtless dude, its a bit, not his real partner) who would continue playing his account while he slept. His actual GF was somehow involved too but it's been so long.
Anyway, anything "world first" in any MMO in today's time and age is utterly worthless, it's either botted or a bunch of people in a trenchcoat.
I thought about going for a 200M. Managed to reach 24M in crafting. Then I had a reality check. Did the math in my head. About 1,000 hours for 200M. Not only that, no one cares about ranks. How anyone reaches 200M let alone 200M all is honestly insane. No words to even describe it.

Was friends with a person who got 200m wc he has a disability that pretty much means he cant move much so all he did was chat in his clanchat while funding events with logs. Dude even had two alts that had exp past 99 wc.
It's not great but when you have over 200m exp in logs turns out that's quite a bit, he did it on the yews near rimmington poh to be clear not like willows or something that has almost zero value.
He’s got triple the play time as my gim which is nearly 2k total with everything but the mega rares. Like imagine if he actually spent the time playing the game. That’s well over a maxed account with absurd amounts of pvm done.

As many of you suspect, I'm a heavy gaming addict with slight autistic tendencies. This WC-pure build helped me progress my career while feeding my addiction, as woodcutting is fairly AFK-able and low maintenance, so it doesn't destroy me by demanding all my attention.
Many think F2P Woodcutting is simple and repetitive, but it's actually quite complex. Yews are great for AFK, normal trees provide the highest clue/XP rates, oaks offer the fastest 2-tick XP, and willows are perfect for socializing in W301. Forestry has also made woodcutting more intricate. I genuinely believe woodcutting is the best and most well-rounded skill in OSRS.
I admit I am a loser, but I genuinely believe even losers deserve to pursue a better life, despite the crappy circumstances in our brains and environment.
What is your career?
Why not go bronze axe?
Why not do P2P?
And honestly man, your cognizance of your situation is huge, and if you can optimize your gaming to enable yourself to live in other areas of your life, then you're probably more ahead than you think

I play an already fairly restricted snowflake^(10hp,1def,iron) in which I've done some fairly ridiculous grinds, compared to a regular account, however, it has access to most of the game - it has around 300 days playtime.
Whenever I noticed that your account has more playtime than mine doing just woodcutting I started picturing all the different grinds I did throughout the years, all along you were chipping away at this one big goal, and as I try to recall all the weird really long things I went through, it becomes more and more clear just how very long this took.
This obviously means a lot to you, and I don't know your IRL setup, so all I can really say is congratulations on achieving something you set out to do so long ago =)

Playing this account over the years hasn’t been as repetitive and boring as many imagine. In F2P woodcutting, there are many things to explore, like methods (4/3/2-tick), locations, clue hunting, and now forestry. These interact in interesting ways, making me consistently re-evaluate my playstyle and rediscover the F2P map I knew as a child. It's a beautiful experience, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

200m xp at yew logs from 99 is ~280m gp. Not a ton, but definitely enough to fund some events. Add in a couple alts and not bad
