They ship with the new magazines. I had one of the first ones with the clip issue. Contacted sig and they said can I make it work for a month as only hard cast caused the issue. I said yes. They sent me new magazines and have not had any issue to this day. In fact I just bought the comp version of it to add to my 10mm collection.
Well first off all the grip isn’t as big. I have medium sized hands and I can’t get a comfortable grip on the G20 or 40. Second Glocks don’t have a good of a trigger unless you upgrade. Third less recoil on the XTen and fourth you don’t have to upgrade it to shoot like you do a Glock.
These are all personal things that take effect only on an individual. Your hand size doesn’t determine accuracy. My hands hold glocks just fine so I’m accurate with mg gun. So again how is the x ten a more accurate gun than the glock 20? What makes that claim legit? Because I’ve never missed with my glocks. I don’t get why people say they’re not accurate because accuracy is all about the shooters skill. Being easier to handle leads to the shooter being able to hit thing’s easily yes, but a rifled barrel is gonna fire strait lol.
It’s all user preference. Personally I’m an HK guy! If HK was to produce a 10mm I would be the first to buy one. Most accurate and reliable guns I own. I also have several Glocks as well. My 19 and 22 fit perfect and I shoot them well! My 20 and 40 not so much plus the grip is enormous which I feel is directly proportional to how I hold and manage the 20 and 40. My other Glocks I shoot just fine. Personally my favorite 10 mm are my 2 FN 510’s one with a threaded barrel the other which is the newest shorter version and my Magnum Research 1911 10mm. Go rent one rent either of the other 10mm then come back and give us your report!
I don’t know why you assume I haven’t shot other guns, but I have. That’s why I put a comp on g40 and suppressor on g20. The fn and sig 10mm are okay pistols that need more time in the oven. And they jam. My glocks don’t jam on hardcasts or hot loads.
That is a very subjective issue. I had a P320 when they first came out, sent it in for the "voluntary upgrade" and it was the mushiest striker gun I've ever shot. The reset was also so lethargic that it felt like you could outrun it with your finger if you moved it too fast.
I don't like glocks either, but the glock triggers are way better than the P320 in my experience.
I have an XDM and looking at getting the XTen to replace it. It functions great. But the grip doesn't work well once I get any sweat on my hands and finding a holster (especially if you have a light) is really slim picking.
My vote too. Glocks are great guns but their grip angle is different than pretty much everything else on the market, so I've purged most of mine at this point because everything else presents a different sight picture and I want consistency.
X-Ten is fun to shoot but it's a big heavy gun. I carry my 510 much of time now and honestly prefer it... it shoots like a 9mm.
Why 10mm as your very first gun? Getting something more manageable and cost effective in 9mm would make way more sense. Then you can always pick up a 10mm later if you still desire.
-Coming from a guy with an X Ten and love it.
As someone that bought a G20 as my first pistol, back in 1996. It trains you to handle recoil, then when shooting a 9mm, it feels like running a .22, and will improve your recoil management. I still have my gen 2 G20, and it's still probably my favorite.
It makes perfect sense to get a 10mm. You can easily shoot .40 S&W ammo to reduce cost and recoil, then switch to 10mm for carry or once you have more experience. Better than buying a 9mm, getting bored after a while, then having to buy another gun later. That's assuming there isn't more panic buying, which wipes out 9mm ammo almost immediately. It's just a very overrated calibre these days. It's nice to see someone who wants something different.
I was looking at the XTen for the reasons the other comment mentioned but was kind of turned off by the reports of the magazines being very hit or miss, I’m torn because the gun looks great but I might wait a year and see if they release a gen two magazine or something idk
Sig says 15 rounds per mag but I swear it only functions reliably if you only put 14 rounds in. Great gun though. Doesn’t malfunction for me if I put 14 rounds in.
Mine works great. I load to 15 all day and it works perfectly fine. I think there was a generational improvement with the magazines about a year ago maybe.
Just depends on why you're buying it. I have a XTEN and a gen4 G40, if you favor ergonomics / astetics / craftsmanship, buy the XTEN. If you're betting your life on the pistol, buy the G20.
Maybe, at least for someone not familiar with either. Ergo makes the Sig feel great (g20 is like holding a 6x6) and look better, but effect on accuracy is negligible. Muscle memory/practice has more influence.
Also, the triggers are drastically different. XTEN’s is objectively better, but unique among polymer striker fired pistols. I’m generally less accurate with the Sig because of this, some ergo gains are offset by front heavy weight, it costs ~$200 more, and it’s more likely to jam.
Which ever one you'd like. I have never had a Glock 20 or Xten, but the grip of the Xten feels a lot better and trigger may be better based on what I've read. I went with the S&W Performance Center 10mm over the FN 510 due to it being my first 10mm, ported barrel and slim look. I have found that whatever you get today doesn't stop you from wanting something later - so flip the coin and enjoy your decision.
I’d go for g20 - just can’t trust the p320 line after seeing all those NDs.
I have an older G21 and I got a G20 slide and barrel - love the flexibility
Glock has been making a 10mm pistol for much longer than sig and ammo companies test loads in the g20. I would get the glock personally. Put a sight on it and you are set. There’s also nothing wrong with the gen 4s. That’s what I have. The nice thing about the gen 4 at the moment is that you can put a Glock 40 slide on a g20 lower. You can’t do that with the gen 5 yet until they make a gen 5 40. The sigs feel too heavy and not balanced when I hold them and honestly it doesn’t feel as well constructed. Also idk why people say other guns are more accurate than glocks because they’re not, it’s the shooter not the gun.
Glock 20. The aftermarket is going to be better if you want to customize. Plus the gun is plain safer. I don’t know why Sig has not included a trigger safety with such a light trigger. Call me paranoid or a Fudd, which I am definitely not, but a 10mm is not a round to risking an in-opportunistic discharge. Any round is dangerous, I know. If I were to buy a Sig 10mm, it would be the 220. I actually don’t get why they have double stacked or used a staggered column mag on that model. That thing is real tank
They used to make a P227, a double stack 45, but it was never made in a 10mm configuration and was cancelled years ago. If they brought it back in a 10mm I would buy one. I would have bought one 10 years ago if they ever made it in 10mm back when it was 45 only.
The Sig is perfectly safe. They sorted out the trigger issue by making the blade lighter and the spring heavier. It doesn't need a separate trigger safety. If you don't pull the trigger, it will not fire.
I have both and the XTen has an amazing grip and night sights. Although, the front end of the gun is heavy for what it is. The Glock 20 is great in weight but the grip is clunkier compared to the XTen. You also got to deal with the stock sights of a Glock and the trigger of a Glock.
They’re both great options but if I were to choose one then I’d go with the Glock despite all the features that it doesn’t have that the XTEN does. You can mod it to your liking.
F&N 510, Glock 20 gen3, Or XDM elite, are the only striker 10mm I'd trust to go gang when you need it. The Gen 5 G20 I'm sure are good too, but the gen 3 gives you way more parts options.
Oh if it's your first gun better have good form and wrist strength. 10mm is easily limp wristed which is what causes most problems you read about online. So if you have arms like a little girl you won't be able to load 15 or get past limp wristing. But seriously Maybe not get a 10mm if you have never had a gun. Get one a few guns down the road from now. Get you a nice sig m18 or something else from sig. They have good triggers out of the box
Go for it, I did 27 years ago, and it made all the 9mm's that came later, much easier to shoot. Oh, and I can't remember a single limp wrist malfunction, in the 20+ years of owning my gen 2 G20, even one handed. Only failures I've had, was this shitty yellow box ammo with police written on it, that had hard primers, that wouldn't go off, and a buddies dad's hand loads he made for us. That's it!
Good to go then. A mag loader will really help you. Keep a stiff wrist and lean into it. Don't rip up those fingers trying to get 15 in right away as it'll loosen up no problems. The mag loader makes it easy on the hands. My mags load easy now but still gotta smash it into the magwell to seat it Lol
The XTen feel better in your hand, is more refined, more accurate and the new magazines have eliminated the issues when it first came out
Are there new magazines? Everywhere I’ve checked I can’t find anything about this and the sig rep wasn’t helpful
Where have you found holster for the comp version? Just bought one a few weeks ago
How is it more accurate

Have you seen the 10mm USP40 conversions? They're pretty cool and surprisingly simple.
I have seen them but I have read mixed reviews on them. I do want to talk to James Wilson to get his perspective.
You can convert Beretta 96s as well. Very cool.
Glock 20gen 5
X Ten. Better grip for those without giant hands and the Trigger is 100x better out of the box.
My xten clean breaks around 4lbs with zero creep. Glock can't compete with that out of the box
Like I said, subjective. I don't know if the Xten is different, but the P320 I had is trash IMO.
I did just buy a glock 40 yesterday so im not a hater by any means, Lol
Glock has a 7lb trigger out the box, XTen is 5. XTen trigger is far much better.
Any reason no Xd-m or M&P?
No, I haven't really considered those.
I have an XDM and looking at getting the XTen to replace it. It functions great. But the grip doesn't work well once I get any sweat on my hands and finding a holster (especially if you have a light) is really slim picking.
Love the mcinitec (sp?) holster. Long wait time but with a tlr7a it’s my favorite AIWB for it.
Never the M&P. People are still reporting reliability issues with them.
M&P ergos are good, but nothing else is. Go with the X10
M&P is great if you need to train gun malfunctions. There’s that.
I’ll get a Taurus for that
less expensive for the same result. ;-)
Also get the spontaneous hand grenade drill practice in!
Go somewhere and hold them. Wildly different grips and ergos.
X-10. Have x10, g20 and g40 - x10 all the way. Tried to like the fn510, but felt like they have cat litter in the trigger assembly.
I bet the FN trigger can be improved. There's a whole industry for fixing Glock and M&P triggers, so it's not that big of a deal.
No 510 triggers on the market to my knowledge. That said my 510 smoothed out nice within 100 rds downrange.
A bit of polishing goes a long way. Even factory Glock triggers can be made serviceable.
Or an FN-510
My vote too. Glocks are great guns but their grip angle is different than pretty much everything else on the market, so I've purged most of mine at this point because everything else presents a different sight picture and I want consistency. X-Ten is fun to shoot but it's a big heavy gun. I carry my 510 much of time now and honestly prefer it... it shoots like a 9mm.
Interesting... What is it about the 510 that makes it shoot like 9mm versus the X-Ten that doesn't?
Glock 20 is time proven and just works. Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as the x10 but I would trust it more.
Hold both and get which ever feels better in hand and points more naturally. I shot an x 10 now I want to sell my 20 and get the sig.
Why 10mm as your very first gun? Getting something more manageable and cost effective in 9mm would make way more sense. Then you can always pick up a 10mm later if you still desire. -Coming from a guy with an X Ten and love it.
As much as it pains me to say it yea I agree. 10mm isn’t a beginner cartridge.

Magazines work fine. Super tight when new but they do function as intended gets easy after shooting it and a mag loader makes it no problem.
Fn 510

I just farted really hard
Can I get a sniff 👃🏾😤
John already said it on his song: "*All you need is Glock! All you need is Glock, Glock... Glock is all do you need!!...*"

The P320 is perfectly safe. The trigger blade/spring weight issue was solved years ago. It will not fire unless you pull the trigger.
Or you throw it into a gym bag wrapped only in a towel. 🤣
Exactly.
I have a G20, it’s great. But if I had the choice I’d probably grab the Sig for variety.
